For those who have used one of the Traktor midi controllers (like the S4, S2, Z1, etc) and then transitioned to hardware from another brand, are you glad you made the switch? I’ve been using an S4 since like 2010 (had the MK1 and now the MK3) and still really like it, but getting curious about external mixers. On one hand, I feel like the S4 works too well with the software to consider using anything else, but I still kind of miss traditional audio gear.

Anyone made the switch and happy they did? Let me know which mixers you guys have had good luck with while using with the Traktor Pro software.

I am looking at perhaps getting a Traktor set up. I have previously only used vinyl. I have two Technic turntables and a Pioneer 250djm mixer.

If I went down the Traktor route, it would be with controllers as opposed to using an S4.

So what would you recommend as the mixer?

I have always used Pioneer hardware with vinyl and cdjs. Help me understand the benefits of traktor over record box and serato, etc.

Problem: I already bought traktor when I got my MacBook. I run an S4. I got it several years ago, and prices seems cheaper than a comparable Pioneer setup; obviously when we’re talking djm, and cdj stand alones, and also many all in one digital set ups. Shortly after my purchase, I found a similar Pioneer controller for a comparable price. Again, this was a few years ago.

Can someone give me the pros of running Traktor? It seems like no one really uses it professionally and I’ve always wondered why Pioneer is the ‘industry standard.’

I’m a fool for not looking into it deeper, but in my defense I really didn’t know anything about digital djing. Can someone give me some tips and tricks that make Traktor stand out? I would also love a link to learn about creating stems and incorporating loops with them to extend intros, killing vocals or annoying melodies and the like.

I subscribe to Apple Music and just found out that they support basically everything except Traktor. That was really shitty.

I just picked up a usel S4 Mk3 and thought I’d upgrade the firmware to start with. Or at least check out what the updater software says. Go figure, the installed is one build higher. How come? Is this really the latest (Intel, macOS, S4 Mk3)?

Hi, I’m 56, going for 58 in a month, and I just bought an S4 Mk3 without a traktor Pro license. I want to learn DJing on a hobby basis and maybe the odd friend party or so, but where do you think I should start, to learn how to dj w Traktor Pro and the S4, and also if you have some leads on videos/tios/articles on how to choose the music.

Since I started using my S4 MK3, there's no highlight on the laptop when operating a deck.

So I want to look at the laptop to know which deck is being operated, not just the device.

I'm so used to having visual feedback on the screen, I can't undo this procedure overnight as I've been used to it for 15 years using the other S4 Mks.

I'm loving my S4 Mk3! Best move I've made in a long time.

Hovering over the buy button, coming from S2 MK2. Just wondering if anyone has done a similar upgrade and had any regrets?

I've watched countless reviews but something holding me back from committing to another NI unit along with all uncertainty going on too.

Sicher sicherlich ist der S4 MK3 kein schlechter Controller mit vielen guten Funktionen.

Ich benutze diese nach wie vor gerne. Trotzdem würde ich mir ein Update wünschen, vor allem was Displays oder ein etwaigen Stand Alone Modus angeht.

Gerne möchte ich mir einen neuen Controller anschaffen und ungerne zur Konkurrenz wechseln. Jedoch habe ich das Gefühl, dass NI einfach ein bisschen hinterher hängt und es ggf. noch dauern kann, bis ein neuer Controller kommt..

Anybody using Traktor Pro 4 with a DJM A9? Routing certain channels seems to be an issue. Also can't hear preview window songs.

Hello, I’ve been using the combination of an Z1 mk2, x1 mk3, and a F1. I use the F1 to control a remix deck on C. Yesterday I saw a a&h k2 on offer up and got it today for a steal. I compulsively bought it and didn’t really think on how I’d use it for my set up. W/ what I have I wanted some input on what the best use for the k2 would be and/or just my set up in general. Do I just use it as another x1 or can I get more out of it in another way? I also have ableton so am able to integrate as well if there are any ideas/suggestions that require it. Would love some suggestions… my inspiration for using traktor and the modular equipment comes from Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Iglesias, and Nicole Moudaber.

I'm really interested in starting DJing to take a break from producing (mainly techno and DnB). I'm considering buying an MX2 but got a few questions.

I keep seeing Pioneer's FLX4 recommended for beginners, if some of you have experience with both how would you say they compare in terms of build quality ? It is surprisingly hard to find in depth comparisons between these two, even though they are in the same price range and I guess aimed at the same customer type. Regarding library management is it feasible with TP4 to export a library for rekordbox if I ever wanted to play on other people setups ? And finally are the MX2's pads clicky type ? I'm so used to the greats pads of my Maschine that this is a genuine concern :)

Any other input will be appreciated to help me make my mind :)

i got a new(er) computer and now my controller is basically useless. Using Traktor 3 on a 2020 macbook pro running OS Sonoma. The software can detect the controller, but not getting any lights or functionality. tried turning off the multi-core processing feature. made sure to "allow all accessories" in the mac system prefs. anything else that i can do??

I'm a beginner using a S2/MK3 model with windows 10 but just had my left jog wheel not move around tracks. The right one works just fine but not sure what I did to cause the issue. I can pause a track when touching the pad but that's it. I tried plugging/unplugging (I only have one another USB-C port), restarting my laptop and Serato but nothing :/

Appreciate any advice. TIA!
