GPS spoofing causing emergency braking?

Anyone else experiencing this? Driving to Abu Dhabi on the weekend, had cruise control activated and twice the car randomly slammed the brakes on when no other cars were around, when checking the map it clearly thought I was in a random residential area. First time I thought just an odd quirk but then a few minutes later it did it again. Not used it since. Seriously dangerous!

4-6 Year Old Tesla Model 3 Ownership Costs

Hello Tesla owners of Dubai!
I am a mega car enthusiast who (a few years ago) would never have considered owning an EV. However, the benefits are increasingly making me question the 'hatred' towards EVs, and I am considering buying my first one.

I haven't dived deep into forums yet, but from what I have looked at, I haven't seen so much information on slightly older Model 3 ownership costs. From y'alls experience, what is it like owning a 4-6 year old Tesla Model 3 with 80-150k kilos? What problems have y'all faced? What are insurance costs like? Where do you service your cars and get parts for them? What are the common challenges in UAE heat?

Thanks in advance for your advice!!

battery depreciating faster than usual

I have a Tesla model three 2023 LFP battery in dubai. Home charging only.

I tend to charge once or twice a week when the battery has dropped 50% or below and then I charge it up to 100%.

8 months ago, I ran a battery health test for the first time, and it was at 89%

Today I ran another health test and it is at 87%

2% drop in the third year within six months seems higher than usual.

anyone who faced something similar and what can I do to slow down the depreciation?

Model 3 expected delivery OCT 2026

Planning to finally own first EV Model 3 Premium LR RWD but as of the moment the expected delivery is on Oct 2026. Do you think there will be a chance they can deliver the car earlier?

I've built a website you can open in your Tesla browser to stream YouTube while driving (perfect for passengers). Before I fully launch it, would anyone actually be interested in using something like this?

Hey everyone,

I’m planning to buy a 2022 Tesla Model 3 in Dubai as my first car, and I wanted to get advice from current Tesla owners before I make the decision.
The car I’m looking at is used, so I’d really appreciate tips on what I should check or be careful about during inspection/test drive/purchase.

A few things I’m already thinking about:
- Battery health / degradation
- Charging habits of previous owner
- Tire wear & suspension
- Software / Autopilot package transfer

Would also love advice on:
- Common issues with 2022 Model 3s in UAE weather
- Real-world charging experience in Dubai
- Insurance costs
- Things first-time EV buyers usually overlook

Going to see a car with 130,000kms, GCC

Anything you wish you knew before buying your Tesla in Dubai?
Thanks in advance 🙌

Do deliveries still happen or they fully stopped them?

I booked mine in Feb with est. time being early May. Now in the showroom they say June-July - due to straight of Hormuz blockage. And still there is no guarantee

Hello,
I’m considering to buy my first ever Tesla, 2022 Tesla model 3 long range, GCC, with 63,000kms.

I would like to know the perks and advantages and disadvantages of owning a Tesla in UAE. How’s the charging? And the insurance and all in all.

Battery Limited Warranty – Until 5th March 2030 / 192,000 km]
Drive Unit Limited Warranty – Until 5th March 2030 / 192,000 km]

They did say they will change the steering wheel wear and tear, but not the windshield wiper control

Asking price is 75,000AED

I’ve also attached the pics for reference. Please let me know your honest opinion and feedbacks..

I’ve been trying to understand how people in Dubai actually approach EVs, especially Teslas, and it doesn’t seem as straightforward as I expected.

On one side it feels like owning one makes sense if you’re staying long term and driving regularly but on the other hand I’ve also seen people mention that a lot of residents still test different cars or switch between options depending on their situation instead of committing right away.

What I didn’t think about before is how much flexibility seems to matter here some people don’t just jump straight into ownership they try different setups first, especially when they’re still figuring out how often they actually need a car or what kind of driving fits their routine.

Even outside EVs it feels like people in Dubai don’t always treat car usage as a fixed thing. Sometimes it’s full ownership sometimes it’s temporary use depending on lifestyle and sometimes it’s just about convenience for specific periods of time.

With Teslas specifically I want to know if most owners in Dubai actually bought theirs early on or if a lot of people experimented with different options before committing.

It just feels like the decision isn’t as direct as it might be in other places.

Why doesn’t Tesla Sentry Mode alarm actually go off?

Hey guys,

I’ve got a Model Y LR AWD Juniper and something about Sentry Mode has been really frustrating me lately.

I’ve had 3 separate incidents where people have interacted with the car in ways that definitely should’ve triggered some kind of alarm:

- Someone climbed onto the hood

- Someone leaned against the rear of the car

- Someone sat on the car and blocked the side camera for quite a while

In all cases, Sentry Mode recorded the footage properly, and during one incident I even saw the Tesla lights pulsing/reacting in person. But the car never triggered the alarm, never honked, and I never received any notification on the app.

I reported this to Tesla and was told this is considered “normal” because the activity didn’t meet the threshold required to trigger the alarm/honk.

I honestly don’t understand that logic. I’ve seen plenty of ICE cars set off their alarms for much less, yet people can literally climb or sit on my car and nothing happens besides passive recording. It’s getting pretty frustrating.

Has anyone else experienced this with their Tesla? Is this just how Sentry Mode works now?

Hey guys first time Tesla owner here. I bought a tesla from someone else and I factory reset the car. However after that - the GPS has reset to California and I’m based in Dubai. I tried driving around for 20 mins but still no update. Any tips?

This new update packs some decent amount of features. I love the updated graphics, better immersive sound effects, blind spot accent warning lights and I also feel the auto parking is a bit better. Havent used the summon and EAP after the update, but will try it out soon.
