Tesla Maps seriously needs a UI overhaul for Maps/navigation like this
I genuinely feel Tesla could take its navigation experience to an entirely different level if it adopted a more modern UI direction like this.
Google Maps’ latest Android Auto redesign looks incredibly refined — immersive 3D mapping, cleaner information hierarchy, elegant multitasking, and a much more fluid integration of navigation, music, and communication.
What makes this even more compelling is that Tesla already has the perfect hardware for it. The large central display, responsive software architecture, and minimalist cabin design create the ideal environment for a truly next-generation navigation experience.
Tesla’s interface is still among the best in the automotive industry, without question. But seeing concepts and implementations like this makes the current Maps experience feel slightly dated in comparison — especially from a visual and interaction standpoint.
Features like:
- richer 3D route visualization
- adaptive widgets
- smarter split-screen interactions
- more contextual traffic intelligence
- seamless media and messaging integration
…would make the driving experience feel significantly more immersive and premium.
Software is becoming one of the biggest differentiators in modern vehicles, and this is exactly the kind of evolution I’d love to see Tesla embrace in future updates.
