Hello! I just wanted to remind people that the 2026 May Moddathon is ongoing. We need more mods! There's never been a better time to start modding, or resume modding if you stopped for some reason (like me).
Greater Mournhold Bazaar is my contribution this year.
It adds 18 new NPCs to populate the Mournhold Bazaar including:
- An outdoors drinking establishment
- A rare books dealer
- Two feuding bakers
- A mysterious curiosity merchant
- Fishmonger
- Shoe seller
- A painting teacher
- The most disagreeable potion seller in Tamriel
- Tea seller
- Shoppers and theater goers
- A clothier selling a supremely fashionable garment.
And more!
Happy modding :)
Underwater glitches with Rafael's shaders on the Steam Deck
Hey there!
I am on my first playthrough of Morrowind on my Steam Deck with just a very light mod setup, only using Rafaels shaders, Morrowind enhanced textures and delayed expansions. The weirdest thing I am using is probably the OpenMW fork that implements the Xbox UI. (https://ilikegothmommys.gitlab.io/openmw-xbox/)
The only problem I am facing is that whenever I am under water and look up at the water surface, the rendering just completely loses it, showing either some crazy blue color fill for the entire surface or some weird pink/black stripes pattern, ultimately turning into the following pattern, making it impossible to navigate under water. This happen to a much more severe degree when the underwater location is indoors.
I have played around with the shader list and it seems like the VAIO shader is what is causing this. Now I am not sure, but it seems like it's the main one, so I would like to keep it. In the settings, the only thing that seems to fix it is disabling the "Enable lights" setting, which also seems to kinda defeat the whole point of using the shaders to begin with.
Has anyone run into this on their Deck or PC and was able to fix it? Any advide would be appreciated.
Waiting for approval on Nexusmods - is on GitHub already
So OpenMW runs pretty badly for me and im wondering if theres any mods to help it run better.
I know about Experimental Graphics Optimizations and thats about it aside from MOP

I want to cram as much quest content into this modpack. I'm at 2500 quest so far and counting.
So.... I need recommendations for quest that flew under the radar. Stuff that you would recommend. Lore accurate as possible.
I also seem to have lost a mod. It was a cult in Anvil that you could join full of misfits IIRC. I can't find it anymore. Unless i dreamed it. But yeah.
What are your suggestions?
Edit: Changed 2500 mods to 2500 quest*
I am during creating quite large load order with above 600 esps, and while most of other issues I am able to navigate through conflicts, this one thing is the one that I have no idea what do to about. It irks me wrong way because I never had this issue plus I found nothing about after googling. I am sure somebody had this issue either, maybe solution is simpler than I am making it.
Those red floating objects. They don't even move around alongside actual blight storm, they just stay there. I have no assumptions about them only that they should be either gone or moving so quick I would not be able to see them during ash storm.
Third picture suggests issue is not about my esps, but about... Idk? Meshes? Textures? Animations? I have no idea what where I messed something during unpacking content to create this weird floating objects. Only mod that touched this 'Blight Cloud' above Dagoth Ur was Devilish Rocky Red Mountain, but I turned it off and looked into texures and meshes it touched. It didn't touch anything about actual 'Blight Cloud'. There is no other mod that touched exterior of Red Mountain and this particular thing.
Next, I turned off all my esps and only active plugins are my esms, neither of them does anything to this cloud, I am sure of it. Tamriel Rebuilt uses it some way maybe? But this is only thing that came into my head, other master files does nothing to similar areas.
When I use disable on this, actual ash storm above lava disappears but those weird floating red objects stay.
I use MGE XE with shaders, Weather Adjuster, Watch the Skies and Vapourmist, however, I don't think any of those four touches this particular cloud.
Did anyone had similar issue or have some possible answer what it is, why suddenly appeared there, what I did wrong to create it, where is some conflict, what should I do to repair it?
Help with removing shield sparkle with OpenMW 0.51 please
I'm using the OpenMW 0.51 version. After updating from 0.49 I began to have shield sparkle issues that I can't seem to remove.
I've tried using "No Shield Sparkle" and also "Shield Spell Visual Effects Remover" and neither of them have worked.
I have seen in some searches that it's possible to remove the meshes/textures entirely, but I don't know how to locate them or perform that surgery specifically.
I don't know if it's the OpenMW version, user error or byzantine shader settings.
I play in first person, this is why I can't have nice gear.
Thanks!
Looking for other nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti users who have tried OpenMW's Morrowind Starter Pack, Expanded Vanilla, or Total Overhaul mod lists on the 0.51.0RC release of OpenMW. Have you experienced driver issues? Hard crashes?
Got the itch to play again and started with the Total Overhaul list. Crashes were frequent so I went down to Expanded Vanilla. Crashing was less frequent but still consistent. Changed to the Morrowind Starter Pack and crashing remained largely the same. Finally tried just GotY edition with the expansions enabled and the game was stable. So likely mods that are at least in the Morrowind Starter Pack have something to do with my crashes.
Might be important to note that my crashes would happen anywhere from immediately on load to 10 minutes of playtime. They would happen while in exterior or interior cells, while actively playing, to idling in menus. Ultimately it felt very random like there was no singular trigger for when the game would crash. Aside from the crashes performance was strong with 200-300 fps in interiors on all lists and 80-120+ in exterior cells including Old Ebonheart depending on the list.
Made a ticket on the OpenMW GitLab and attached a couple crash and freeze logs from my Expanded Vanilla playtime. A user got back to me saying most of the crashes and the freezing was likely due to a GPU driver error.
I've since updated to the 596.36 driver with a clean install and the crashes have remained. I'm just about at the end of my rope and I guess I'm just wondering if there are other 4070ti users having the same experience as me or if it's my specific system.
I know I could go through the 107 mods on the Starter Pack list enabling each one individually but since everything's bashed and patched together I assume that would introduce it's own instability and honestly I'm not really up for it. Really just looking for confirmation if other people are having problems of if it's just my system.

Hi, I just want to ask if there are any recent developments in the follower aspect of this game, particularly for OpenMW. I'm currently using:
•NPC Functionality - best one ive tried so far as it extends the features to every npc including Tamriel Rebuilt ones. Its so good that I'm compelled to find a different one just for comparison's sake. That, and the fact that it was made in 2008 yet still runs just fine.
• Actor Interactions - supplementary mod for accessing equipment for the follower. However, removing the items given is impossible. If there's much better alternative for handling equipment on the followers, please let me know.
•Friendlier Fire - great mod in case you don't want to hurt your follower (like ahnassi since she'll hate me for it forever).
What other suggestions do you guys have?
Any idea how to get rid of this red symbol
In path of the incarnate, it shows up on all npcs as red and pulsing and gray on the dead npcs
