I posted this project here a few months ago. Since then, I’ve made several improvements, new features and add optimizations to the code. Still actively working on it, but wanted to share the latest version here today in case some people like it.

When streaming is not an option, this app gives me an option to follow or catch up on football matches, right from my terminal.

  • Real-time match events with auto-refresh
  • Finished match stats, formations, player ratings, etc
  • Goal notifications, official highlights and goal links embedded
  • 70+ leagues worldwide & customizable to track only the ones that matter to you(including the world cup, of course)

Install: brew install 0xjuanma/tap/golazo but other options listed in the repo.

Hello team.

I was thinking maybe it can be a good idea if we had a virtual meeting so we can talk about the state of tech in TZ. We can find ways to support each other with all things tech in TZ, because it is really not easy.

If things go well, maybe we can meet monthly and/or have a Discord server.

Hope this is a good idea.

Prompt driven vs Specs driven development

If you are a developer you might be using AI in one way or another even if you are not fully depending on it to write your whole codebase. If you are using AI it is important knowing the difference between Prompt driven and Spec driven development, if you already know, it's okay, you can share with us in the comment.

Not a Job Post, Looking for a Real Technical Co-Founder to Build a Trust & Fraud Intelligence System for Mobile Transactions in Tanzania

I’m currently exploring a long-term technical co-founder relationship for an early-stage system called ChekiNamba.

Problem yenyewe ipo around trust & fraud kwenye phone-number based transactions, especially kwenye mobile money ecosystem ya Tanzania.

Simple idea ni hii:

Unawezaje kujua kama number ina trust before kutuma hela?

Hii sio corporate hiring wala normal job post.

Natafuta watu ambao:

- wanapenda systems thinking

- wanaelewa security/adversarial thinking

- wanapenda kujenga real systems

- wako comfortable kufanya vitu kwenye uncertainty

- na ideally washawahi build projects before

Current stage:

- bado early-stage

- product scope bado tunaiexplore

- hakuna massive funding bado

- more of founder-level collaboration

Interested sana na watu wa:

- Computer Science

- Software Engineering

- Information Systems

- Cybersecurity

- backend/API systems

Application form : click here

Kama una deeper thoughts/questions unaweza pia kutuma kupitia:

Shout to TZ Devs - You guys are building quietly and it’s impressive. Meetup 30th May Saturday?

Hey creatives.

I’ve been around a few tech circles in Dar lately and honestly, the level of stuff Tanzanian devs are building with zero noise is wild.

You’ve got people shipping fintech tools, scraping data for local agriculture, building mobile apps for Saccos, and debugging Kubernetes clusters at 11pm - all while dealing with the usual “internet itakatika” and power flickers. No VC funding, no Twitter clout, just pure problem-solving.

That’s rare. Most places have 10x the hype and 1/10th the output. So real respect to everyone writing code here and keeping the ecosystem alive.

Now for the fun part:

I’m hosting a low-key meetup the following 30th may Saturday at Tabata Segerea for devs who want to log off, play some games, and just bond as humans.

What’s happening:

Games: FIFA on PS5, board games, and a quick coding puzzle challenge with prizes

Swimming and physical games

Food & drinks: On me

Vibe: No pitches, no panels, no “networking”. Just meet people you’d actually want to debug with at 2am

Who’s invited: Any dev, designer, data person, student building stuff in TZ. Experience level doesn’t matter.

If you’re tired of only seeing other devs on GitHub PRs and want to meet them IRL, drop a comment or DM me. I’ll send location and time.

Let’s make it a thing. Tanzanian devs deserve more than Slack threads.

Only for <20 people (limited spots)

See you there?
