I attempted to make the Doomguy in Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon

It isn't perfect, of course, but it's as close as I could get without mods. Happy to share the item details for anyone curious.

Galahad

Okay so I am in my first playthrough and I already finished Act 1. When I met captain I thought "oh no he is a traitor, but okay we have to kill this evil maniac Galahad". Then I met Galahad and he wasn't crazy at all, cruel but smart and effective. He convinced me to join him. I was thinking about fighting him for his weapon, but I decided to trust immersion.

Act 1 and 2 complete…

I took my time and explored everywhere plus did almost every side mission I could in act 1 and 2. I’m ready to begin act 3 but before I do I just started the dlc sanctuary of sarras. So act 1&2 I’m level 50 and played 3d 2h 5m. I’m just wondering if that’s about average or am I being way to slow and thorough? 🤣

First time playing, Challenge Mode a good option?

I just got the game today and saw that they added a challenge mode last week.

Is it worth playing the challenge mode, when I've not touched the game before? (I've played the free tutorial over 1 year ago on steam)

That being said, I don't mind dying a lot, I don't mind min/maxing and grinding a lot. I've been

What I don't like are rpgs that tend to become extremely easy in the later chapters, when the character gets overpowered, so in theory I don't mind negative modifiers. I could also go for veteran, if the difficulty is well enough balanced in the late game.

I just finished the game for the first time. Here are my thoughts.

Alright so let me just say I was very impressed with this game and I enjoyed it a lot. My play time was 33 hours. I know it's short. The reason is because I purposely left a bunch of content for my next play through because I already know I want to play it again making different choices, different build etc.

I didn't do any of the DLC's, left some side quests etc.

Overall I would say the game is very impressive. Obviously there are issues. The performance isn't quite what I would want but it was good enough. Some minor glitches here and there but nothing I wouldn't expect for a low budget game. No game breaking bugs or glitches. I only had one crash and it may have been my fault as I alt-tabbed right as a loading screen started. I know alt-tabbing can sometimes mess with games.

The art and graphics are extremely good. There are some weird things like the terrain for mountains looking kind of.. blocky?.. kind of like Halo Infinite haha

The story was awesome and very fresh. I might be biased because I am a huge Arthurian nerd lol

Gameplay I really liked. The combat was familiar and the dashes and unique weapons, armour, and king's power made it interesting enough that I never got tired of it.

There is a really good amount of content in the game. I definitely "rushed" my first playthrough at 31 hours and left a bunch of content behind on purpose.

I really like the leveling system and skill trees. You can feel your character getting more powerful. It was also one of the first games where I actually used the crafting and upgrade system a lot.

I really liked the quest writing and the ability to make certain choices along the way. Some of the character arcs were great (>!I'm gonna be honest I didn't expect Hob to be who he was!<).

My biggest issues were; that the inventory system is really bad, the quest menu can't be organized and gets cluttered with side quests, the voice acting was hit or miss - really good at times and really not as good at others, and... the fact that we >!never went to Kamelot!< LOL

I loved the dungeon design. Very unique and interesting BUT some of the smaller dungeons were really small, like just one room. I guess it makes sense for a cave or something but it was underwhelming.

Honestly the fact that this game had a demo was very refreshing and took me back. It was probably the main reason I ended up buying it in the first place.

Overall. Great game. 8.1/10

If you guys finished it, what did you think?

Anyone here in the middle of their first playthrough? What do you think so far?

So, the Avalon is a future Earth?

Found this note. The guy discovered a mummyfied "creature from the age long forgotten" - an elephant. So tecnically, this can mean that the story takes place in the far future. Or I just had too much coffee today.

Question about carry weight

I've played for about 3 hours so far and just got off of the tutorial island. It seems like you can definitely carry a fair bit of stuff, but im a real loot goblin so I like to take *everything.* I found a cave shortly after shipwrecking and carry weight is already starting to piss me off. There is a mod that can drastically increase your carry weight and I'm considering using it.

My only concern is that, as someone who likes a challenge and is playing on the hardest difficulty, would it be too cheesy? I'm just worried it might make the game too easy by making me super rich, or maybe it doesn't really matter.

Already died 25 times to Faceless Bromhar

So, i discovered that there is a parry mechanism 20 levels into the game. So, I decided to train, and what’s better than an melee enemy that is a damage sponge?

I just died the 25th time to this guy, but when I went to fight him for the first time, I could not parry a single attack. Now, I managed to get him to 40% HP.

I won’t be satisfied until I can drop him 100% on Melee

How can I make this more effective?

I have both of these shields and even if I stand there just parrying, enemies don't freeze themselves against me. For example a bandit leader, the chill expires too fast to build up to a freeze.

Is there a way to make chill last longer or for these shields to apply MORE chill?

I really like the theme of both of these and wanted to be Frost based character with one of the frost shields. Any suggestions?

Where can I find some cool looking armor?

I'm level 35, in the second map, haven't yet completed the quest to get the Palamedes Shield. Mainly I am just finding radiant armor from enemies.

Can anyone here point me in the direction of some neat looking armor?

Is Dagger Proficiency somewhat pointless?

Hello Hello
I have a question, dagger proficiency icreases the crit chance of sneak attacks with daggers by 33% per skill point, but if put your attribute points into perception, you quickly reach 30% of critchance by default, so why would you spent all 3 points into dagger proficiency?

How are people seemingly one-shotting everything in this game? Am I missing something?

Hey everyone, I recently got this game last week and have been having a blast with it so far, having just finished the main quest for act 2. But for some reason, I've been really struggling with the combat thus far. I started out as a battlemage, then respec halfway through Act 1 to a Two Handed build because I wasn't able to find any decent spells. I've been using whatever I can find, and only recently I was able to get the stats required by Sir Lancelot's armor and Arondight, with the rest splitting equally between Perception and Practicality (at 4 each right now)

https://preview.redd.it/cr8fd7vm410h1.png?width=1840&format=png&auto=webp&s=158994f04d06cad0f833292bdd95f8b73053c4da

But even with the boost from Sir Lancelot set, the current dmg on my Arondight at full health is only at 248-278 when I'm at full HP.

From a lot of the comments I've seen like above, people have been saying it's too easy to get overpowered from just playing normally, and I'm just feeling so dumbfounded by this. There are occasional enemies I can one-shot, but they are just some random wolves and undead. I'm at Tomb of Sir Gawain now, and the boss here would instantly one-shot my character if I miss a single parry. Meanwhile, the random marrowghast I fought on the way would hit me for 3/4 of my entire HP bar. I would be fine with that if it means I can actually hit them back just as hard, but I only deal like 10-15% of their HP with each swing (maybe 30% if I get lucky with the crit). So I'm always at the risk of getting mopped in just one or two hits while also having to fight a whole horde of enemies that take dozens of hits to kill.

I feel like I'm missing something so incredibly obvious here, but I have no idea what it is. Hoping I can get some pointers without being too spoiler-y if possible. Thank you!

Edit: Thank you everyone for the advice. I just went through another repec to focus on crit chance and got it to around 70%, now everything dies relatively quickly. With a bit more min-maxxing I can see how people can easily one-shot most enemies in the game.

  • Swoard an board knight
  • Dual Wielding Longswords
