Tips for frontside 360?

Feels like I'm always landing on my toes or too far back on the tail. I've been told to ''spot the landing'' but I've done 5 360s so far and have no memories of seeing anything at all during the jump... Could I be closing my eyes?

Do you guys have any tips to balance the board in the air and land it flat? It all happens too fast to decompose the movement, one moment I'm taking off and the second I'm on the floor.

Thanks!!

Snowboard Boots for Wide Feet

I have never found an article on snowboard boots for wide boots that had the info I was looking for. I will post abit about all of the options I tried on and perhaps this will help someone in the future.

My forefoot is 2E on one foot and about a 3E on the other. The rest of my foot is "normal". I had been using Burton Rulers wide, speed lace, 10.5us, which is a full size too big for me. The liner eventually self-punched out and I could ride these all day without nerve pain from my toes being squished. I needed new boots. Here is what I tried:

ThirtyTwo Men's TM-2 Wide: This entire boot is wider, so I had too much room in the rear of my foot. I had hoped they had modelled the boot closely to the original design of the 32 boot as I used 32 lashed about 20 years ago and they were fantastic. i stopped using 32 lashed when they narrowed the toe box.

Burton Ruler Wide: Since this is what I had been using for quite a few years now, I thought this would be my guaranteed boot purchase. My foot felt quite squished. These might have eventually worked great for me, but I did not want to risk it since I was not sure if any changes had been made since my current pair. Side note: Great J hooks on Burton boots for incredible ankle hold.

The Vans Infuse: This does not come in a wide version, but most vans boots are generally wider in the toe box. I wish I could fit these as these boots feel so comfortable. Plus tongue inserts to change the flex. Unfortunately not wide enough for my feet.

RIDE Lasso Pro Wide Snowboard Boots: Unfortunately, not wide enough for me. The tongue also put a lot of pressure on the top of my foot when I flexed the boot forward.

K2 Maysis Wide: These have the widest toe box of all options I tried, so this is what I ended up buying. And because I could, I got size 10us, which is only 1/2 size bigger than my foot. I have 4 days in these boots. My foot still hurts in these boots and I usually take them off on the chair up 1x or 2x per day. Each day, I ride these, the foot pain seems to be less and less, so I think liner is perhaps self-punching out more. The heel hold on these is not as great as the Burtons, so i keep flexing my knee forward to be able to crank the Boa down tighter. The boot was quite stiff the first day, but also seems to have softened up a bit, which I like. The plastic boa hold on the boot liner should have made slightly wider. Several times, I had to re-cinch as the plastic piece tightened under the boot liner, stabbing my foot every time I flexed. I contacted Intuition to see if I get a liner that fit me better for this boot. None of their offerings seemed to fit my needs. I may suffer with the provided liner or I may see about putting a Burton liner in this boot..

Salomon Dialogue Dual BOA WIDE: Just note that I don't think I tried these on but perhaps an option for others. It was end of season when I blew out my Burton boots, so stock was heavy limited and I had to go to maaannny shops to find availability.

Food for thought: Since most boot companies, simply use different liners for 1/2 sizes, would it not make sense to make all boots with a wide toe box, and offer different liner options so the boot will still fit a regular width foot person.

I built a progression site for snowboard: the community edits the content, community votes changes in. Looking for testers to roast it.

Nothing beats a personal snowboarding coach. But 99% of the time I'm riding without one, and while there's a ton of great content online, piecing it together at the right level is genuinely overwhelming. You don't know what you don't know, and YouTube doesn't tell you what to work on next.

So I built a site that breaks Snowboarding into a step-by-step progression, small drills, clear cues, and a UI that tracks what you've checked off so you actually know where you are and what comes next.

The twist: it's a "Living Manual." Anyone can edit the tutorials, and the community votes on whether changes stick. I want the collective experience of riders to refine the drills, add better cues, and keep it sharp over time.

What would actually help me:

If you're currently learning, try it and tell me where a drill feels confusing, where the UI gets in the way, or where I'm just plain wrong.

Roasts very welcome. I'd rather hear it now than ship something mediocre.

Quick note on the bigger picture: the same problem exists in other sports, so there's also wakeboarding and calisthenics on site. Long-term vision is a hub for community-maintained skill roadmaps across sports and skills.

Happy to drop the link in the comments if you want a look.

Seeking Advice: Equipment / Staying Hydrated

I'm in the initial stages of developing this thing and am in dire need of some honest feedback from potential end customers before I commit to spending money developing it.

I went snowboarding for the first time earlier this month and loved it. As a first-timer I didn't really know what I should bring a carrying water wasn't something that even crossed my mind.

During the second day I got sick of paying €6 every time I wanted a refresher. I came up with an idea for a crossbody sling bag for carrying your water. Realised it could be good for your ski-pass, phone, wallet, keys and ear-bud case too. It would be adjustable via a strap on the back.

I think the idea is a practical solution but I'm not confident that this has a market and really want thoughts from people who snowboard regularly - what their solutions are and if they know of or use any alternatives. OR If they would be interested in something like that.

I would be super grateful for any feedback.

Carving Feedback

2nd season riding, only a few trips a year.

Can’t imagine carving on choppy blues/blacks, seems like conditions always dictate getting the board over at speed. Working on cleaner lines and natural stance, getting rid of the hunch and dead arm..I know😀Tried both posi posi and duck, each seem to have diff pros.

Any feedback to improve would be appreciated🙏

Question: Practicing 360/900 spins at home - technical advice needed

Hi everyone,

I’m 17 and I’ve fallen in love with Snowboarding (specifically Halfpipe) only 3 months ago. I have a background in Skateboarding, which helps with my balance.

Due to my location, I have ZERO access to snow, so I’ve been training daily in my room (Dryland).

  • I can consistently land 180s and 360s (both Regular & Switch) on the floor with solid stability.
  • I can perform 900s, though they aren't 100% consistent yet, but I'm putting in a lot of hours to perfect them.

My national federation is currently looking for new talent. They have very few members (less than 15 total), and the application only requires sending a video of our skills.

My question is: Based on your experience as coaches or pro riders, if I submit a high-quality video showing my 180s, 360s, and 900 attempts on flat ground (no board/no snow), will it be enough to show "elite potential"?

Will coaches be impressed by the air awareness and rotation speed developed in a bedroom, or will they dismiss it because I haven't touched snow yet? I really want to know if my "Dryland" video can be my ticket to getting professional support and finally hitting the slopes.

Thanks for the honest feedback!

(sorry if there are any mistakes in English, it is not my first language)

New gear advice

Hi guys,

I'm currently planning to buy a complete new gear (board, fix and boots) for next season, and I'm looking for opinions. Never bought new snowboarding stuff, so I'm not sure about what's more important. I used old used gear or rented until now.

To give a bit of context:

- I think I'm between beginner and intermediate: I can carve with confidence on beginner/intermediate slopes, but I struggle a bit with speed and thight radius turns - even if I can manage (kinda) all kind of slopes.

- never took lessons, started on my own few years ago, but I am planning to take some lessons next year to work on my flaws.

- I'm not really into jumps/freestyle, but it's something I may try one day

- I usually practice a week per year

- really interested in quick bindings (step on mostly, but I'm open to suggestions/feedbacks).

- budget around 1000€ (buying from France), slightly flexible.

- also I'm 34yo, male, 1m80, around 85kg, foot size 10(US). I guess it can matter :)

The gear I selected after some research:

- Korua Otto 161: I fell in love of their boards look. First, I had in mind the CR, but I feel it will be too radical for me. The Otto seems to be a good compromise. I also looked at the Pencil, don't know how it feels compared to the Otto.

- Nitro Profile TLS Step On 2025: tried them earlier this month, and I never felt that confortable in a boot.

- step on bindings, no idea which one to chose. Ideally the less expensive, but I'm open to suggestions if some models are coming with nice upgrades.

Also looked at the Bataleon Whatever : a bit less expensive than Korua boards, and I love the Top Van Modelo series. It could be a nice option to stay under 1000€.

Please let me know what you think ! Thanks

Beyond Medals - Ripstop vs Park Pant

I'm having a look into getting some Beyond Medals Park Pants. Im looking at the "Ripstop" (305.95 AUD) ones and the regular Park Pant (329.95 AUD). On the technical details section, the both say 15k waterproof and all other specs match. I'm just wondering if anyone knows why "Ripstop" is cheaper than regular Park Pants, when you'd assume that the "Ripstop" fabric is more durable.

What are some of your pet peeves of how snowboarding is portrayed in fictional media?

I'm currently writing something where one of the main characters is an avid snowboarder.

He's not a professional, but has also not done it for at least five years, and has just started again.

I'd like to know if there's anything most writers miss when it comes to snowboarding, as well as any unique sensations while going down a hill on a snowboard.

Thank you!

Goggles

Looking into goggles for next season and the options line runs as long as looking for a new board lol

As for lenses are the two best color options sun mirror red and everyday purple? You guys have any advice on which colors work the best for you personally ... I've found myself intrigued by the sun mirror black because the view has a natural color but I hear purple and red are the best

06’ 154” UNINC black bottom sheet questions.

I was wondering how many were made and what’s a legitimate asking price if I was to sell it?

Ride Shadowban 2026 Did I go overboard with the size?

The local store has a 161 cm board in stock—it’s the last one left and heavily discounted. I’ve read a lot of reviews and opinions about this board, and it seems to meet my expectations. I’m a slightly intermediate rider,

with a boot size of 28 cm,

weighing 83 kg (182 lbs) , and standing

183 cm tall (6.0 feet)

Should I get this board? Or should I look for something better that fits my size?

Is this the beginning of the end for this board? Or it can be saved?

I've noticed this on the tail end of the board (Capita DOA 2023) after this season was over. Probably happened when the board was serviced, or just by itself, magically?

Anyway, my question is — is it starting do die, or I can fix it somehow?

Portland Snowboarding Model

Hi all, I'm a sports product design master's student and I’m looking for female snowboarders who may be interested in modeling for a photoshoot for my thesis project. The shoot would take place in late May, most likely around May 23 or 24, though timing is somewhat flexible. I’m looking for someone who is approximately a women’s size 8/10 and has their own snowboard. You do not need to be at a certain riding level. For size reference, the form that I'm working off of has the measurements of approximately 36.5” bust, 29” waist, and 38” hips, you do not need to be exactly these measurements, the apparel has an oversized fit! The shoot would likely be a half day, depending on availability and logistics. Compensation is available. If you or someone you know might be interested, please send me a message. Thank you so much!

Board to grow into

About to wrap up my second season and have been having and absolute blast. Even though I live nowhere close to mountains i still manage to get about 2 weeks of riding in a season.

I’m a teenager though and am still very much growing which has been the only thing stopping me from purchasing a board.

I do a mix of groomers off piste and park so i was thinking of getting a more park leaning all mountain board that will eventually become my full park board when I stop growing. I’m 170 cm tall (5’5 for the americans) and 48 kilos at the moment.

Burton Cruise (1989)

Morning lads! I just got gifted this board and for the age it's in great condition. I just cleaned it up, trimmed the edges and waxed it... I would like to ride it just once! Are there any bindings made today that fit this hole pattern? And what kind of pattern is it, anyway?!

Can’t board slide to save my life

I been riding for almost a decade now and never really touched the park until last year. I can carve really well and hit any line in a mountain with confidence.

last year I was in the small park doing jumps and 50-50 boxes and rails.

this year I’m in the medium size park throwing shiftys off jumps and 50-50 on rails that aren’t ride up.

I been trying to board slide and I can’t figure out how to be flat on the box and not slip on my ass. I’ve tried to pivot from the 50-50 position and going straight into a BS and was only able to do it once for a short time. I’ve tried FS and BS and I slip both ways. BS feels more comfortable. I’ve also ridden on an easy slope and pretended to board slide down a hill to find the balance but it’s not translating over to a box.

anyone got a tip that made it click for them?
