New gear advice
Hi guys,
I'm currently planning to buy a complete new gear (board, fix and boots) for next season, and I'm looking for opinions. Never bought new snowboarding stuff, so I'm not sure about what's more important. I used old used gear or rented until now.
To give a bit of context:
- I think I'm between beginner and intermediate: I can carve with confidence on beginner/intermediate slopes, but I struggle a bit with speed and thight radius turns - even if I can manage (kinda) all kind of slopes.
- never took lessons, started on my own few years ago, but I am planning to take some lessons next year to work on my flaws.
- I'm not really into jumps/freestyle, but it's something I may try one day
- I usually practice a week per year
- really interested in quick bindings (step on mostly, but I'm open to suggestions/feedbacks).
- budget around 1000€ (buying from France), slightly flexible.
- also I'm 34yo, male, 1m80, around 85kg, foot size 10(US). I guess it can matter :)
The gear I selected after some research:
- Korua Otto 161: I fell in love of their boards look. First, I had in mind the CR, but I feel it will be too radical for me. The Otto seems to be a good compromise. I also looked at the Pencil, don't know how it feels compared to the Otto.
- Nitro Profile TLS Step On 2025: tried them earlier this month, and I never felt that confortable in a boot.
- step on bindings, no idea which one to chose. Ideally the less expensive, but I'm open to suggestions if some models are coming with nice upgrades.
Also looked at the Bataleon Whatever : a bit less expensive than Korua boards, and I love the Top Van Modelo series. It could be a nice option to stay under 1000€.
Please let me know what you think ! Thanks
