Can’t board slide to save my life

I been riding for almost a decade now and never really touched the park until last year. I can carve really well and hit any line in a mountain with confidence.

last year I was in the small park doing jumps and 50-50 boxes and rails.

this year I’m in the medium size park throwing shiftys off jumps and 50-50 on rails that aren’t ride up.

I been trying to board slide and I can’t figure out how to be flat on the box and not slip on my ass. I’ve tried to pivot from the 50-50 position and going straight into a BS and was only able to do it once for a short time. I’ve tried FS and BS and I slip both ways. BS feels more comfortable. I’ve also ridden on an easy slope and pretended to board slide down a hill to find the balance but it’s not translating over to a box.

anyone got a tip that made it click for them?
