Why didn't/doesn't the government just build a giant coal power plant on top of Centralia, Pennsylvania ?

Centralia Pennsylvania has been burning for decades, can't we just put a power plant on top of it? It's already burning anyway.

Why do flat Earthers think the world is a disc when the world map clearly shows its a rectangle?

Many ancient civilizations thought it was oval but by the medieval days when Chris Columbus and Magella charted the world we started seeing all the maps correctly drawn as rectangles.

Is Stephen Hawking only famous because he sounds like a robot? His work seems pedestrian.

Wow Hawking Radiation. I too can calculate the standard deviation and make a hypothesis no one can prove.

Edit: Check the subreddit, wtf with all the dorks and tryhards.

Edit2: Imaginary particles come out of nowhere then one gets absorbed into Hawking's hole and he poops out the other, is not a good theory.

How would a Boost Panel (like the ones from Mario Kart) even work?

In Mario Kart, these glowing orange-pink panels on the ground where, when touched, suddenly makes your vehicle speed forward so quickly and powerfully that your exhaust literally ignites. If I were to make one in real life, how would I do so?
