I’ve been having issues with my Rodecaster Pro II and I’m losing my mind. I stream and had USB 1 on a dedicated fader. When sliding the fader up and down, the levels of my system audio would change AS WELL as the levels on OBS. I updated my rodecaster recently, and now nothing changes when using the faders other than the audio on my speakers. No charges on OBS. I have tried every multitrack thing. Have charged things to “post fader” have looked up EVERYTHING and cannot find a solution. I’ve installed the virtual drivers and everything.
All I want is to have the OBS levels of my system audio change like it does when I change the mic level on the mixer. This worked completely fine for years, and now suddenly i can’t figure it out for my life. I FEEL LIKE IM GOING INSANE. CAN SKMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.
Hi, I currently use a Shure SM7B into a GoXLR mini. It works great but I have some frustrations and I think the Rodecaster Duo is my next mixer. I’m on the fence about getting one because I have two features I love about my GoXLR Mini that I don’t know if the Rodecaster Duo has and the first one might be a dealbreaker.
Sometimes I like to play music from my mic for my friends, but I don’t want to dive into routing to add the connection. Can I set up a Smart Pad to toggle the routing connection from the “Music” virtual output device into the microphone output?
Sometimes I like to make my mic sound intentionally bad for comedic effect. I currently do this on my GoXLR by creating a second mic profile with the gain cranked up too high to make it sound funny. Can I assign a Smart Pad to achieve this effect on the Duo?
Thanks in advance for the responses. My biggest problem with the GoXLR mini is that the side tone on the device doesn’t have any of the EQ effects applied so it sounds horrible to me despite it being good when I record and play back my mic, but I want to make sure that I can also do my other mixer party tricks with it before I buy one.
Before the 1.7.3 firmware and 1.0.4 virtual driver, I had 0 issues with my virtual devices. Once I updated to these versions about a month ago, Windows randomly disables my virtual devices and have to manually re-enable them in the sound settings.
I'm running an up-to-date Windows 11 24H2 PC, 9800X3D CPU, 5090 GPU, with 64GB DDR5 RAM and a Level1Techs Displayport KVM. I do not have sleep or hibernate enabled, just an auto screen lock after a certain time of inactivity.
Is anyone else having a similar issue here? Outside of the known mono audio bug, I don't see it listed.
I have done the following troubleshooting steps to no avail:
I only got this Podmic USB a few days ago and love how it sounds and the way it looks in my setup. Plus, I love supporting a local Aussie business. The mic is running the latest firmware and I have only used the original cable it came with.
Problem: I have noticed that if I have the Rode connect app running in the background and I haven’t used the Podmic for a bit, or when I put my windows pc to sleep, the mic will not wake up, meaning there is no sound coming in and the vu meter on the app shows nothing. The led on the back remains green. This is reflected on other recording apps as well that the mic is not awake.
I have tried multiple solutions like:
*Plugging in to different ports at the back of my gaming pc, also tried usb a ports
*Disabling power management features on device manager on the Rode Podmic usb device and all usb root hubs to prevent windows from putting them to sleep
*Disabling USB Selective suspend in Power Settings
*Disabling any possible conflicting usb audio inputs from my system sound settings
None of these seem to work and a quick fix that works is restarting the rode connect app. This instantly reactivates the mic and picks up sound showing on the VU Meter and it just starts working again.
Anyone experienced this before or have a solution?
Thank you.
Yesterday I transferred a file from my Rode Wireless Pro transmitter and a few minutes later I tried to transfer a file from the second transmitter but it didn't connect. I got a prompt to update my firmware so I did it. And after that I have not been able to see my recordings.
When I go to recordings it just says "Something went wrong during the device connection. Please plug and unplug the device again."
The firmware version is 1.0.2.
Additionally, I also observed the rustling effect when recording through receiver on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20, which some other users have also reported. The issue doesn't happen with the on-board recording on the transmitters though.
I'm having constant issues with my mac, and same issue with my linux pc. Whenever the computer restarts or is powered off - I have to unplug + replug the rodecaster in. The virtual devices will stop working until I completely power off + on the rodecaster as well.
Hi,
I've got my scene setups mostly as I like, but one thing I haven't been able to figure out, is adding sounds to a scene. Ideally I have a scene for each podcast section, with an intro jingle. I can trigger them separately from the media buttons, yes, but is there a way to add them to the Scene so I don't have to trigger them manually? I guess a workaround would be to use a video with sound, but that seems a bit unnecessarily hacky.
I just got a brand new Rodecaster Video. I'm a sports broadcaster for a small college in Utah and I'm super excited about using the RCV as my main video switcher. I've connected 4 Sony PXW-Z150 cameras to the RCV's HDMI inputs and made sure the cameras were all set to 1080 60p. The RCV is also set to 60p. I made sure the RCV has the latest firmware. I used the included superspeed cable to go from USB-C 1 to my M4 Max Macbook Pro. When I try to add it as a source in OBS, it shows up as an option but then I don't get any video or audio from the device. It's just like there's no data at all coming through. I really need this to work for my college's commencement ceremonies next week. HELP ME!!!!
Does anyone know the specs for the Rodecaster Video S SuperSpeed USB-C Cable that comes in the box?
Want to look into getting some back-ups and I want to make sure they have the right specs for data and power.
Thank you!
This looks interesting, but 5x the price of the Wireless PRO. I guess the higher cost is for the more reliable UHF signal and built-in timecode. I wonder if we'll still see a Wireless PRO II.

Hi! Looking into buying two RODE lav mics and curious if they will work recording into L/R tracks in the black magic camera app? Does anyone have experience doing that?
