Rodecaster Duo: Technical questions from a prospective buyer
Hi, I currently use a Shure SM7B into a GoXLR mini. It works great but I have some frustrations and I think the Rodecaster Duo is my next mixer. I’m on the fence about getting one because I have two features I love about my GoXLR Mini that I don’t know if the Rodecaster Duo has and the first one might be a dealbreaker.
Sometimes I like to play music from my mic for my friends, but I don’t want to dive into routing to add the connection. Can I set up a Smart Pad to toggle the routing connection from the “Music” virtual output device into the microphone output?
Sometimes I like to make my mic sound intentionally bad for comedic effect. I currently do this on my GoXLR by creating a second mic profile with the gain cranked up too high to make it sound funny. Can I assign a Smart Pad to achieve this effect on the Duo?
Thanks in advance for the responses. My biggest problem with the GoXLR mini is that the side tone on the device doesn’t have any of the EQ effects applied so it sounds horrible to me despite it being good when I record and play back my mic, but I want to make sure that I can also do my other mixer party tricks with it before I buy one.
