Hello, as you can see, I'm objectively ugly, so I'd like to know if nose surgery could improve my appearance
Ive had 8 different consults and mixed opinions on open vs closed revisions. Im not crazy about using my own rib so I would prefer donor rib. I have thin skin so temporalis fascia is gonna be needed. I live in FL but will travel for best outcomes. There is a dent along the front that casts an awful shadow on most pictures. Do I open it back up and reconfigure everything or do a quick closed approach and add some cartilage to fix the dent? Oh, and breathing is kinda awful on one side.
I’ve always wanted the traditional Barbie nose. Do you think it would be worth the revision?
Left is my pre op nose, right is my post op nose. I know it’s asymmetrical on the bridge, but something is off about the tip and I didn’t want that to change. Is it the columella..? Is it less full? I need help! My revision is in January. Do we think this would be relatively easy to make symmetrical?
I’m 3 months post op after my fourth rhinoplasty revision and it still feels so swollen. i’m taping most nights and on low dose accutane (they made me) to get my skin to shrink faster around the new nose. but it still feels really swollen. i drink lots of water and sleep slightly elevated. any other suggestions i can try??
What are some tips/ advice to not let the way my nose currently looks consume me before I get my revision scheduled In January? It is currently eating me alive. I feel like 1/2 of myself or less every day and cannot look at myself in the mirror. I am graduating college in 2 weeks and I need to keep pushing on, but I am struggling. I cannot get past the regret and miss how happy I was before I made the choice to get my surgery.
I don't really see ethnic noses on Dr. Baver Simsek Instagram page. Has anyone with ethnic and thick skin gone to him? If so, how was you experience?
Need a recommendation for the best male revision surgeon in NY but willing to travel for the best surgeon since I will the need the use of rib cartilage and this would be my 3rd surgery :(
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice/experiences because I’m feeling a mix of nervous and hopeful about an upcoming surgery.
I had a septoplasty over 10 years ago along with turbinate cautery. They also placed spreader grafts at the time, but my current surgeon believes those have shifted.
I recently had a consult with an ENT/facial plastic surgeon, and she told me I have nasal valve collapse and likely need a proper turbinate reduction (not just cautery this time), along with some work involving the mucosal lining (I think she mentioned resection/adjustment there).
Her plan also includes:
Using cartilage from my ear to support the nasal opening
Using a cadaver rib graft to reconstruct my septum and bring my nose back to midline
Functionally, breathing is my biggest issue—I really struggle day to day. Aesthetically, I’m less concerned, but I do notice the deviation (especially from the front and side profile).
I trust her and felt good about the consult, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous—especially about the rib graft part.
Has anyone here had:
A cadaver rib graft used in revision rhinoplasty/septoplasty?
Nasal valve collapse repair with ear cartilage?
A true turbinate reduction after prior cautery?
How was your recovery and breathing afterward? Any complications or things you wish you knew beforehand?
Also open to general thoughts—especially if you’ve gone through something similar.
I've been trying to find people who had reverse osteotomy to due to overly osteotomized bone in their first rhino. I find the lack of blog post from people who got reverse osteotomy really weird... It makes me think is this surgery really even possible?
Hey everyone, I’m looking for advice or recommendations from anyone who’s been through something similar. I’m nearly 2 years post-op from a rhinoplasty and I honestly feel like my nose has structural damage. I have what looks like an inverted V deformity, I can physically feel a crack or split along one side of my bridge, and my breathing has never felt normal since surgery. I barely feel airflow through my nose properly anymore. The inside of my nose is also constantly extremely dry and sore, and sometimes I get this horrible smell in my nose like something is rotting. It’s honestly really concerning and has been affecting me both physically and mentally. I’m looking into a reconstructive revision at this point, potentially with rib grafting or structural rebuilding, and I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with structural collapse, breathing issues after rhinoplasty, inverted V deformity, internal valve collapse, chronic dryness, possible ens or revision rhinoplasty requiring reconstruction. If you had a successful reconstruction/revision, especially a difficult or complex case, I’d really appreciate surgeon recommendations. Please comment or message me with your experience. Thank you 🙏🏼
I can’t find any stories of people who have actually had this done. The stiffness really bothers me, it feels like my nose is forever swollen.
Have anybody had rhinoplasty to fix retracted nostrils? Anybody that can share their experience?
I had a rib grafts placed 8 months ago and the inside of my nose still feels weird. This is my third surgery so I’ve never had an issue with the inside of my nose before but it’s like I’m always aware of it. It doesn’t hurt on the inside or anything. It just feels weird and stiff. Breathing was also iffy for a long time and I started to worry and also thought at one point I was developing ens. I’m feeling much better now and finally turned a corner on healing this month so I hope it continues to improve. I never see anyone complaining about the inside of their nose, so I was wondering if anyone has experienced any of this.
Hey everyone, I need a revision rhinoplasty for a collapsed nose. I’m having trouble breathing, I have a split nasal tip, uneven nostrils, and my nasal bridge is too flat.
I would really appreciate hearing your opinions or experiences with either surgeon, especially for complex revision cases.
I’m honestly so exhausted from this search and feeling really desperate at this point.
For people familiar with revision rhinoplasty surgeons who would you trust more for this type of case: David Kim, Brad Bader, or Katrib?
I’m looking for more of a restorative/natural revision to restore previous features. My primary surgery left me feeling over-operated on and I’m trying to find someone who understands facial harmony and preservation.
My concerns/goals are:
-reversing overly aggressive osteotomies/narrowing
-widening a pinched or over-resected tip. My face looks better with a wider nose like I had naturally.
-restoring softness/flexibility to the tip
-improving nostril tension/stiffness and contour. My old nostrils had soft look to them now they look tight and triangular in shape. (No alarplasty done).
-correcting an over-rotated/high columella look
-avoiding a “done” look and getting closer to my original anatomy
If you’ve consulted or operated with any of them, who do you think is strongest for this type of revision specifically?
I’ve seen Bader restore and produce fuller tips on those who had too much cartilage resection but I have not seen him do anything else besides that like augment dorsal bridge. I’ve seen David Kim’s work and he has done good tip work as well as dorsal augmentation. Katrib has good work too but I notice his bridges look boxier. Which I do not mind widening my lateral osteotomies if he was able to give me soft dorsal lines.
Would also appreciate hearing if any of them tend to push a certain aesthetic or if one is more conservative/restorative than the others.
Would genuinely appreciate honest opinions/experiences or other suggestions:))
Anybody who had a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Toriumi, how similar was your actual final result to the morph he created for you beforehand?
