Beauty monthly maintenance costs

How much do you all spend to keep yourself feeling beautiful? Hairs/nails/brazilians/facials etc? I just got my nails done for the first time in years and am SHOOK by the cost, but also have a desire to indulge more in things that help me feel attractive. Would love to hear what other ladies are spending (and how you deal with any guilt about it!) ❤️

Chill Pilates studio

Looking for a center city Pilates studio with a welcoming vibe. I’m old (50) not hot, but love Pilates. Diverse body types and focus on improvement not perfection is what I’m looking for. Thanks

EV charging in Queen Village ($20/session)

I have a Level 2 charger installed in my garage that sits unused most of the time between chargings, so I figured I’d offer it up to fellow EV drivers who need a reliable spot to plug in.

Charger is available:
• Most weekdays during work hours
• Most nights (I usually charge overnight on Mondays and Wednesdays)
• Weekend availability varies, but usually some windows open

Pricing: Working out the details but thinking a $20 flat fee for up to a 6 hour charging session. Open to feedback on what feels fair. DM me if you’re interested or have questions!

J1772 plug compatible with most EVs. Tesla and newer NACS-equipped vehicles will need their adapter.

Happy to chat with anyone interested and figure out a schedule that works. Bonus points if you’re a regular who wants to set up a consistent schedule.

Egg Freezing Costs

Looking for a fertility clinic in Philly with more transparent pricing. I’ve had two visits at Main Line Fertility and was really surprised by the extra out-of-pocket costs, despite having full fertility coverage through my insurance.

For example, they use a third-party anesthesiologist for retrievals costing $800, plus there’s a separate $750 admin fee/per cycle. I’m planning to do two cycles, so these additional fees add up quickly and feel frustrating when insurance is otherwise comprehensive.

I’m also having trouble getting clear answers about medication coverage. Apparently, I won’t know what’s covered until MLF actually submits the Rx's.

I’ve heard fertility meds may be cheaper through Penn, but I’ve also seen mixed reviews about the level of care and communication there.

Has anyone had experience with Penn, RMA, or elsewhere in terms of:

  • better insurance coverage overall
  • fewer surprise/admin fees
  • anesthesia used by a major hospital/not outsourced
  • medication costs/coverage
  • overall experience

Hot Pilates/Yoga

Hi! I’m newer to Philly and am located in the fishtown/NoLibs area. What’s everyone’s favorite hot workout locations? I tried In Flow and while it was great, I’m looking for something a bit warmer and a longer length class — at least 60 minutes. I’m open to having to go to different parts of the city for this if it’s worth it

Want to plan a fun and relaxing birthday weekend for my partner. Something with nice scenery and restaurants/things to do. What towns or cities within 2 hours of Philly have you visited that have this vibe? We've done the Poconos so looking for something different. I've heard New Hope, PA is cute and they mentioned Wilmington, DE potentially. Bonus if you have recs on a nice spa within the vicinity. Please exclude places that are unfriendly to POC. TYIA ❤️

Hi! I’m looking for a personal trainer in the city who can help me get in great shape for my wedding next year— so while I want to focus on getting strong, I also really want to focus on aesthetics. Anyone worked with a personal trainer in the city they really love for this? Let me know!

Best place to get Pedicure where the Bowl doesn’t have jets?

Hello! Looking for a salon either in Philly or suburbs where the pedicure bowl doesn’t have jets? I went to Lacquer Lounge a year ago as they are exactly what I was looking for, but the tech who did my mani/pedi said some really unsettling things, so I do not want to go back. Thanks gals!

Hair Salon Recommendations in Fishtown/NoLibs or South Jersey for highlights

Moved to philly late last year and looking for hair salon/hair stylist recommendations. For reference I have naturally very dark south asian level 1-2 hair and get cool toned/ash blonde highlights and have been for 5 years now. As far as I'm aware i've never had issues when it comes to my hair lightening, and have been told it lifts surprisingly easy for someone with dark hair. However, my previous stylist in Maryland seemingly changed products and the last two times I went, I was left with spots of yellow/orange in certain parts of my hair and particularly near the roots of my money pieces. Which is why I tried out a senior level stylist at an Aveda salon in south jersey not too far from me in Fishtown and I thought she did well at first, but again at my roots I have an uneven patch of warm orange/yellow, and I had a friend look through my hair the other day and there were more areas of orange/uneven lift-not to mention she cut off about 4-5 inches of my hair when I had asked for a trim and long layers- so I will definitely not be going back there. If anyone has any recommendations for any hair stylists/colorists that can work with naturally dark hair and are comfortable/confident with doing really light highlights I would appreciate it!

TLDR: Looking for a hairstylist that can do blonde highlights on naturally dark hair. Thank you!

I really want to just ride a horse for my birthday in a couple weeks. Any suggestions? I already contacted Courtesy Stable and they said it’s more for long term riders. Looking for just a one day adventure.

Any affordable classes in the city for pottery? I would like to learn how to mold the clay and make things that can be fired and painted. I’ve seen courses for 300 dollars but I am a student so looking for something as cheap as possible but still worth it!
