I’m undefeated in attending professional Pittsburgh sports games, (2-0 pirates, 1-0 Steelers, 1-0 penguins). Some call me delusional, but I believe my presence at the games means something.

My teams can’t lose when I attend, and after seeing how the pens have played, they’ve left me no choice but to step in.

So mark up Game 3 as a W boys, CheddarMcBallsack will be in attendance.

Well, heading to Philly down 0-2 is certainly not an ideal situation. We're playing far too sloppy, making way too many mistakes, and failing to capitalize on any advantage we find ourselves with. The simple truth is that the boys need a new approach tonight or we can kiss this series goodbye. To put this in perspective, since 1942, a team has gone down 0-3 in a series over 200 times. Only 4 times has that team come back to win the series. This is all to say a loss tonight historically gives us LESS than a 2% chance to move on to round 2. It's now or never for the boys, lets finally show these bastards what this team is made of.

Pens Lines

The worry and frustration are real and understandable but I fully believe this team will still win the series. The locker room adjustments between periods have worked the pens have looked better as the games went on. I believe the coaching knows exactly what this team needs.

Not to mention games 1 and 2 went pretty much exactly how Philly wanted. Play a frustrating defensive style giving no room and wait for the frustration to expose good opportunities. Which is why even when play was all Pittsburgh, Philly still ended up with the better scoring chances.

Pens NEED a lead to force Philly to take chances and push for offense. The lack of early scoring has let them play their game for the entire series so far.

I believe the pens take their good play from the 2nd and 3rd periods in game 2, combine it with a little less pressure now that they’re down and on the road and the goals will come early for the penguins. Once Philly is forced to play an offensive game I believe things will really open up and we’ll see the offensive power of Pittsburgh take over the series.

PENS IN 6 🐧

I changed from my hoodie (which I wore most of the season) to my jersey about halfway through the second period of game 2. This is the jersey I wore to the Buffalo game where A Hayes got his first two NHL goals. I’m shaving my face today. I’m switching my hat today. I washed said hoodie to get the stench of the first two games out of it. That’s coming to work with me. LETS GO PENS. Flip this series around!

Its pretty depressing how quickly our barn cleared after that empty net goal. I know it was a weeknight, and no one wants to watch us get smacked, but as a fan it was demoralizing to see how quickly support left.

Apparently something went wrong with my shave on Saturday...so i've decided to reboot my playoff beard and shave again now for game 3.

You can bash us, throw shade at us but we always prevail! This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions and we are proud just to make the playoffs. That doesn’t mean we throw in the towel just because we are down two games!! I don’t know if it’s just me, but watching the first two games the d-pairings have been sub par for the most part. The one I’ve noticed the most being particularly poor is the Girard-Letang pairing. They constantly both get caught up in the offensive zone when the play is in transition. I think Muse should definitely shake that pairing up at least and try to pair each with a more defensive defender that will actually allow each to play more offensively without getting caught but I’m not sure what that should look like.
