I started a new character and after a couple lucky drops, I decided to see just how strong I could get without leaving Chersonese.

Advice needed - rune based build

Hi everyone !

I've played the game a bit several times, and this time I want to make it to the end. I love magic and want to play with runes. So far I just took the rune mage breakthrough. I'm thinking of picking cabal hermit as well to stack the wind sigil and runic trap and use conjure when the enemy is on top. But I can't decide on the third breakthrough.

At first I was thinking of going philosopher for the regen but I realized there is nothing else I want in that tree. Plus I've installed the alternate start mod and already have 0.2 mana regen in exchange for -30% stamina regen. I've been looking at mercenary but it would just improve my move speed and sprinting. Hex mage is tempting for bloodlust and the increased damage when tired. But I'm not sure I want to be perma tired.

I'm curious what you guys would pick.

Get me out of the mines plz

Silly me was thinking that I could give gaberry wine to Crock without having the Vendavel quest activated, ended up in the mines. I speedrun my way out doing pretty much everything for the 30 coins.

Then I walk out and head back to Cierzo, encountered a black pearlbird and thought “he might drop something”, black pearlbird destroyed me.

So now I’m stuck in the mines again even though I got killed halfway through the mountain, and there is nothing left to do here, should I fight my way out even though I’m half dead or can I have someone to come rescue me?

Off meta pick : the Arcane adventurer

Hi,

I came up with a new build which performs quite well end game while being reasonably accessible mid game.

PROS :

  • As I said you don't have to wait until you completed main quest and dlc to use it
  • Flexible : you can use the boots and helmet of your choice only the armor and weapon are mandatory
  • You benefit from the godlike moveset of the halberd with nice resistances
  • You're not limited to specific breakthroughs or faction questlines, though I suggest wild hunter for the leap and survivability and kabbal of the wind for the greater boons

CONS :

  • You can't face tank your foes
  • Requires enchantements so a trip to antique plateau and knowledge of the enchanting mechanic is required
  • Your skills will be tested in the Kabbal of Wind temple but you can easily prevail with sigil of wind or any source of lightning damage.

The build consists of a great synergy between the thrice wrought halberd (only weapon in the game with frost AND fire damage) and the adventurer armor (easily obtainable early game via Soroborean merchant) enchanted with spirit of Vierzon which boosts greatly fire and frost damage. This armor is a real gem, weather defence, very rare fire resist, additional carry capacity, cheap..

Engagement : for tough foes

  1. engage with fire/frost wep buff if you're kazite spell blade (otherwise varnishes do the trick),

  2. with blood sigil and gift of blood for great ice damage bonus (if you're a blood mage like me)

  3. a simple fire sigil and immolate for insane fire damage.

  4. a bow if you're a wild hunter etc...

I use squire headband and assault boots for aesthetic purposes but they also give great résistance (your only vulnerabilities would be ethereal and frost so always carry elemental resistance potions or ceviche just in case). Don't worry you can remain efficient with almost any choice of head and footwear.

The thrice wrought halberd will hit hard and FAST with a 1.1 attack speed and 43 impact you'll manage. The weapon looks great and you can get it in Emmerkal Kabbal of Wind temple (this will be your test 😉). The adventurer armor will be very helpful for your expedition to the very hazardous Caldera thanks to its fire resistance too.

As an off meta enjoyer just wanted to share. Cheers.

Playing with a friend, are we missing something?

We cleared the murlocs north of Cierzo, went back two times when we got the crystals to open the stone doors only to find some health potions and part scavanger armor.

We cleared the north bandit fort and found nothing.

We cleared the south fort, saw a cool ship in the distance, and got nothing from all the guards and chests outside of a red shield from the named guy.

We are lugging so many resources with nothing to craft, killed so many enemies with nothing to gain, too much food to eat.

The most fun we had was juking around enemies in the fort, blocking them with gates and letting them fall into the pit in that one room.

Enemies hit hard, but it is so easy to just juke them or switch aggro and hit them when their back is turned.

I liked how the guard in Cierzo thanked us for clearing the fort, but where is the progression? We got all the skills and recipes, are we supposed to rush to one of the three factions instead of exploring?

Tried using bows, bombs, traps, but why bother when a single hit with a melee weapon coated in decay deals 5 times more damage.

Hey everyone, I am not sure the flair is right since I'm not the one giving Tips and Tricks rather asking for them.

I have less the ten hour in the game and I love the feel of challenge that Outward gives me but I feel like I am wandering around, scared of every thing is not a Bandit.

I reached Berg, trained with the dude that teach Enrage, found a slitghly better armor (padded+fur boots) and crafted a Fang Greatsword. I have the Pommel Counter and feel "quite confident" but the reality is that I can take 1 or two bandits at the time. I am scared of descending in dungeons because everytime I do there's some weird monster killing me before I can kill him. Once again, I love it, I am not complaining.

My goal is to reach Levant (i liked the dude with a big sword at the beginning), but I would like to get a bit stronger in Enmark before venturing into the Desert so I wanted to get some good loot, sell it or use it, but I'm not sure if there's some entry level dungeon or they are all mean and I just have to get powned times and times again before being able to survive.

I tried to get to a Bandit camp but there where three golem like monster guarding it, so I tried a Misc. Dungeon (the one in a big dead tree) but a "mecha" dog killed me before I could kill him.

Can any of you give me a solid advice to get started without trivializing the game to much (I don't wanna cheese it)?

Thank you, love the game!

All the stupid ways to die

just finished part3 of my playthrough stream, Went through ghost pass and cleared vendal. Died 4 times :

  1. Went through the ghost pass. Saw shell horror. Setup fire sigil to be safe. Beat the horror down to 1/2 with weapon, took no damage. I tried to be cute and lure him to fire sigil to burn him. Get caught trying to light the sigil and die.

  2. in Vendal, kill crock, kill witch. tried to save my health pot, looking at my inv with 1/3 health. a rando bandit comes kill me while I'm stuck in inv.

  3. Go back to conflux to sell loot, the monsters respawn, I run in, get 1 shotted by 2 mana mantis because i got cocky tried to face tank.

  4. Get in to conflux need some water. Go to where t-rex spawn to get water (1/4 health at the time) I already killed the super t-rex before. Did not realize a regular t-rex respwaned in it's place while I was gone. get 1 shotted by it.

This game really have a way to keep you humble. Video link of my misadventure will follow shortly.

Having trouble getting elemental particles.

So I've killed 2 of the arcanist elementals and all they have dropped are mana stones. Is there a reason they aren't dropping the particles?

Struggling with the bonk lifestyle

The title says it all really. I have a lot of hours clocked in outward but almost all of them have been with casters, daggers, halberds, 2H swords, bows, and 1H sword/maces. I want to try a physical damage bonk build and likely with speedster (maybe monk and hunter, but not I am open to other suggestions).

I am in the early game right now, I picked up speedster, I just finished getting my vampiric great mace, and… I feel really slow and weak compared to my other builds. Purple ghosts are wrecking me right now. I don’t have a range, damage, or speed advantage. I have a hunch 2H mace really needs to rely on brace to create openings which I don’t have yet.

How do you make it through the early game with 2H maces? or are they just a slower start than the other weapon types? What strategies and tactics do you use?

Build help with Idea

I wan't to do a spear run was thinking of going with the blue chamber faction, thinking for skill trees going with ice spell blade, with the hunter tree with rage and the two other skills as well. What should my third skill tree be what would work well with the other two.

So im a fairly new player with only around 30 hours in so far and I was wondering if anyone could explain how mages work? I got mana for the first time after being melee focused on my first character and just want to know basic skills that are a must have for mages and maybe armor builds for early game? I have the warm boon and cold boon as well as flamethrower and spark. Also which faction should I join if I want to be a strictly spell based mage without the use of weapons? Any advice would really be appreciated thank you!

I might have made a big mistake by traveling to levant early in the game to collect the dancer armor and I used it for my first 50 hours until I decided to get the palladium armor, I like that I don't die in 2 hits but I am so used to having nearly infinite stamina that it feels terrible to travel and fight with this low stamina armor, I am using the worldedge greataxe so I need a lot of stamina for fighting and decay damage, I want some armor that gives good stamina reduction but also some decay damage and defense, I know that's a lot to ask out of some armor but I am wondering if I can use the dancer helmet and boots and then a chest piece that gives decay damage and defense?
