Welp, I finally got "unapproved annotator" status on Aether. Out of nowhere, just working on a task and then got booted out of the project. I feel relieved, honestly. The stress of getting tasking hours was a lot and now I can focus on finding a real job. I knew it wouldn't last long and I'm glad I was able to make a decent chunk of money over the 6 weeks I was able to work.

For the record my QA score was at 2.82. I didn't receive any notice until I sent an email to support. They responded saying that my past submissions did not meet the customer's requirements and the decision is final.

Good riddance, I say. That project was insane.

I was assigned to a new project about leaves. I did the onboarding, spent time on it, studied the guidelines and gave high quality answers....then I finish and see "onboarding failed". I'm ready to give up on Outlier...it was fun while it lasted.

I got this Aether REjoin email after I was removed for absolutely no reason and without notice.

after submitting the onboarding for the second time I found my account deactivated.
and the chatbot you have keep telling me that the decision is final.

I know exactly what happened and I literally did nothing wrong I did not cheat, I did not use AI NOTHING!
cause Aether is not rocket science to begin with, nobody has to cheat on Aether .

I've had a couple of power outages today so I was afraid to lose all progress during the onboarding if that happened again, so I copied my own answers saved them in a note, thank god no outages happened during the onboarding so I deleted them after submitting .

the system detected the copy action and deactivated the account for good !!

so yeah, I admit I copied my answers and maybe that's against your whatever guidelines, but that can defiantly be communicated via a warning or a temporary suspension or any form of communication.

after 4 years I didn't even receive a warning or an Email, nothing at all.
and the sad part is that it's irreversible, so no one can say oh you did something terrible that we can not discuss.. that is literally what happened.. a human error that's not fatal by any means and can defiantly be fixed.

so I wonder if anyone might care to help solve this issue out or at least tell me what options do I have at this point ?

I got back my STEM-related skills by disconnecting from LinkedIn and deleting my resume. After logging out completely and then logging back in, I was able to add my skills back in, including Math, Physics, and Astronomy. Great news! I had several of my skills removed a month ago due to what they deemed "low quality." I tried reaching out to support, but human support couldn’t help, and the bot was no help.

About a month ago, the bot allowed me to complete the Generlist screening, which I passed. It noted that I was at an "expert level in English," but my English skills, including English (US), are still not enabled. Interestingly, there is still no skill listed for English.

So, how does Outlier assess this? Do they now only give that skill if one has a degree in English?

Did anyone receive the email to take this assessment? I received the email, completed the assessment, and would like to know when I will receive the results.

I am a member of the Aether Multilingual project, but there are no tasks in my control panel that match my language. I’ve been experiencing this issue for about two weeks. Is anyone else having a similar problem? Have you been able to find a solution?

I took the test, but nothing seems to happen after - whats up with that?

Hey everyone,

I was working on a Aether project earlier today, completed a few tasks, then took a short break. When I came back, I couldn’t access any new tasks.

I checked my dashboard and the project is no longer there. I went to the project history and found it, but it’s marked as “unavailable.”

Playground section also disappeared and my dashboard is now empty and only shows the earnings and referrals sections, nothing else.

Has this happened to anyone before? Does it usually mean the project ran out of tasks, or my account banned, or could it be something else like being removed?

My current rating is 1.88, in case that helps give some context.

Also, will the earnings already in my account still be paid out, or could there be any issues with that.

Had my first QA review yesterday, first time i had done the task, third day on outlier.

Received an unacceptable and now don’t have that task any more 🫡

It was one of those long tasks that i ran out of time on and assumed i needed to submit before budget was exceeded for yesterday. Reddit said i couldn’t save a task for another day once i had started?

I know they remove people for any and every reason. Just want to know what I’m doing wrong and if there’s anything i can do now.

When ever I'm trying to start tasking I keep getting "too many requests" error.

Did anyone face a similar problem or how to fix it?

I passed 3 different French skills but failed the generalist one (cause I rushed through it after being cooked from doing the French ones) 😂 so I’m wondering if I messed up by not taking the generalist one more seriously since bilingual projects aren’t always available. Does anyone have any more info on potential ongoing French or bilingual/multilingual projects rn?

Outlier paid signup verification (PH)?

I just started, so this may be a newb question. I got an email yesterday that says limit has been reached for “multi-M.” So does that basically mean we can’t do any Aether projects until tomorrow? And how often does this happen where we have to take breaks until the limit resets or whatever?

I recently matched for this project. I did a task last night, but today the project is gone. Anyone with the same problem?

has the timer started for everyone already? my sibling is able to work but for some reason my timer just says budget —/—- and wont let me start it, did i get kicked out 😭

4 hours and 59 minutes to be exact. Opened at 11 am EST and got the notif at 3:59 pm. Am I missing something or is this the new normal?

Got a job and I put outlier as my most recent work experience. The background screening is through a third party and I’m wondering how they’d even verify that I’m a contributor lol

So ever since I was taken off the Aether project, I’ve done a good amount of the tests so I can get new projects tasked to me many months ago. So far, nothing. Is Outlier going through something I’m not aware of?

Been struggling to even log a couple hours before the daily limit is reached. Anyone knows when we are getting back to the good old days where daily limits are higher? Thanks

Hey just a quick question from someone who’s been on outlier for a couple weeks now.

In about 1.5 months I’m going away to Asia for a couple of weeks. It won’t be possible for me to do any work on outlier at all - for about 17-18 days.

For reference I’m an aether generalist, so I guess very replaceable.

What will happen with this 2.5 week inactivity?

I know my account isn’t gonna be banned or anything! I’m not worried about that as 2.5 weeks definitely isn’t long enough to be considered an inactive user (I think?!)

But in terms of projects, will I come back kicked out of my aether project? Or with like no available tasks??

Basically just asking if anyone’s ever been away from outlier for 2-3 weeks and if so, what happened - if anything, when you came back…
