PlayStation 1 - what is the racing game with funky characters and power-ups?

After an extensive search to try and figure it out what game I played when I was a kid and I couldn't find the right answer so I am here asking for help to find it!

What I remember:

I think the game had kind of a spooky vibe and I remember driving through tunnels/sewers, the driving felt like hovering but it's not like jet ski stuff or space ships stuff.

There were cool and distinct characters like Frankenstein, a super girly character, a military character this sort of stuff and their cars/vehicles followed their theme/appearance (it wasn't Wacky Races althought it reminded of it) I remember a green tank.

There were also power-ups and you could sort of knock the driver in front of you and that type of thing.

I think it was 3rd person view and not that from the top view like Micro Machines.

I have seen a bunch of games and I haven't found it PLEAAASEEEE SEND HELP!

The game that came closer to it was Hot Wheels Extreme Racing | PS1
It's not Micro Machines and it isn't Wacky Races.

————EDIT———-
The title is Renegade Racers! Thanks everyone for helping!

I made Shenmue PC box that never existed — looking for honest feedback

https://preview.redd.it/ylanm72gyyzg1.jpg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88869ccd74076672403116f1ec113dc916dabf54

Shenmue was never released on PC for Windows 98, but there were rumors back in the day when I was a kid without a Dreamcast (and my parents were clear: ‘No way we are getting one’). Luckily, I got to play it through a close friend; and boy was Shenmue ahead of its time!

So years later, I decided to make the box anyway -> not a game, no software. Just a physical object that reimagines what the PC release could have looked like.

Every element was designed and assembled by me, from the cover illustration, to the box inserts, CDs, and items. I only created 10 boxes.

I've been working on this for about 6 months and I'd love honest feedback from the Shenmue community, people who actually know this game.

  1. Does it feel right? What feels out of place?
  2. Do you get why it exist?

Some have told me there was no point making this. I still disagree, and I think there are others out there who would feel like I do.

If you want to see more, go to cambureditions.com. Thanks to all, in advance!

By the way, this is a fan-project. No software included.

Anyone remember this Gem? The soundtrack was great too.

I loved this game and wish we would get a remaster or it would come back. You used to be able to play the soundtrack on a CD player too and it was a banger also.

Lost Arcade Game

Help me find this old arcade game.

I’ve been searching for a retro celestial-themed arcade game that has vintage sun and moon faces — especially a crescent moon with a human face, similar to old astrology or fantasy artwork. The vibe is dreamy, mystical, and cosmic, kind of like retro carnival or zodiac art.

It reminds me of: • vintage celestial illustrations • moon & sun faces • fantasy arcade aesthetics • retro cosmic/pixel vibes

I can’t remember the title, but the moon looked very similar to those old “man in the moon” designs.

Does anyone know an arcade game with this style? #RetroGaming #ArcadeGame #CelestialArt #MoonFace #VintageGaming #LostGame

The first PC game I ever played was from a random disc my grandpa got from some trade show he attended. It was a bitch for him to install, I remember, on our old Windows PC. I remember having to boot it up in a special way and had to have his help every time. I'm guessing he booted to the disc itself instead of Windows. You'd think now, as a professional game developer, I'd know how and why he did it that way. I want to say this was like '98 or '99 so it was probably for Windows 98.

Anyway. I only played probably 15 of the games on the disc but I'd do anything to play some of those games again.

Any ideas for how I could go about doing that? Legally would be ideal, but I seriously doubt this thing is for sale anymore.

Here is a classic from Tecmo PS1, anyone remember this?

I loved this game, and would play it nonstop. I picked up because I read about it in GamePro I think it was. That or PlayStation Magazine. But it was so fun trapping people and stealing their souls. It was such a different type game for back then too.

Ive searched so long for this game its actually bothering me so much

you mix different animal parts(legs, wings, body, head, etc) to create weird animals, when you’ve created an animal you put them through tests like flying, swimming, and running. I remember there was one page that was just full of eggs, like all the different combinations and which ones you’ve unlocked. they had different biomes and I think the mascot was a cheetah? I don’t remember much about it but I Believe it was made around 2014-2017 but I cant find a single trace of it now.

Some honorable mention
Happy Wheels
Fireboy and Watergirl
Bubble Trouble
Heli Attack 3
Commando 2
Fragger
Dune Buggy
Raft Wars

But I am finding them be be incredibly hard to get people to play test the small version as if something were to catch some attention I would build it out into a bigger and longer version, is this style of gaming just not popular anymore, mobile only now maybe? I am finally to the point with it all that my games are worth sharing but the typical posting on YT and Tiktok videos are bringing on bringing in small numbers. Any advice? Maybe pivot into just bigger projects?

2D Zombie car game hill climb racing like circa 2011-13

help me find this, I used to play it when I was 5 in 2013 on an iPhone 4. it was a 2d game where you just had to drive a white car (SUV) on some hills and you had to run over zombies. the only thing you could see the colour of was the car (white) and the background, a clear night sky with a full moon. everything else was black. the hills were black, the zombies were just black silhouettes of people walking. also the trees were black. the cover of the game was this white suv. it kinda looked like a range rover evoque from those years

Help me find my chieldhood game

I used to play a game on ios about 10 years ago when i was a kid it was about a little astronaut running for his life. The theme was a burning city during an apocalypse, rocks falling from space burning city. It was a 2D pixel endless running game with the same pov as jetpack joyride and sort of the same goal, endless running. You were able to pick up certain weapons on the way and there were opsticles coming your way and you could shoot some of them. I remember a shotgun and a flame thrower. There were also little c4 charges falling from the sky with a parachute mounted on them so they were slowly falling. If i am remembering correctly the logo of the app was the little astronauts face and i also remember rocketships leaving earth in the background so i think that he was running to a rocketship but that never happend since it is an endless running game could you help me find the name?

Help me to find a game.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a specific game I played years ago. It’s a 2D pixelated survival game. It starts with the main character landing on a geometric-shaped island in an escape pod. You gather resources like ore, berries, and wood, and fight boars. The player uses a multitool that functions as a pistol. Features include character customization, upgrade NPCs, and robots for automation. The map layout had an NPC island to the left and a bee/honey island to the right. Also, I remember the second game (sequel) had a sand worm boss. It was originally available as a demo/beta.who can help?

OK, I know people are gonna think I'm talking about Port Royale here, and I kinda am, but not the series that everyone knows now. Back around 20-ish years ago, there was a series (I believe there were three total) games you could play online for free that were called "Port Royal" or something similar. I had grabbed copies and had them offline so I could play whenever I wanted, but in the years since I've lost them. The only person I gave copies to had her laptop die, so she doesn't have them either. We'd both LOVE to find them again but haven't had any luck.

We found them on a site similar to Big Fish Games (might even have been that site, but they don't seem to be there now). I really enjoyed them, and would absolutely LOVE to find them again, but anytime I search, I come up with the "other" Port Royale series.

I'm really hoping that someone here can help me source copies again! They were free, so no piracy involved (in real life, anyway - the game had a LOT).

[CD-ROM , FLOPPY] [Windows 2000 era], Robot builder/creator game,, You can customize humanoid robot parts

This was written, partly with Claude-AI's help ! ^^ :

Hey! I've been trying to remember this game for years and years and it's driving me crazy, I'd love to know.

It was a creative toy — no gameplay, no goals, just building and customizing robots. I played it around 2003-2004 on a Windows 2000 PC, and loaded from either a CD-ROM or floppy disk.

What I remember: Humanoid robots with modular parts — you could customize the head, arms, abdomen, and eyes separately ; On the left and right sides of the screen there were choice panels with arrows to scroll through dozens, maybe hundreds of part options .

The UI was grungy 2D — mostly black and grey shading, with forest green or light gold outlines on the choice boxes.

Some color accents like red, yellow, and blue (often on buttons on the robots' abdomens)

The style was 2.5D, meant to look 3D using shadows and angles and sound effects were beeps, boops, and robot humming — very satisfying .

Felt very creative and diverse — lots of options, very expressive robots !

I was around 3-5 years old playing this so details may be fuzzy, but the vibe was very distinct. Would love to find and play it again!

Hello everyone.

When I was a kid there was this Facebook game I loved that I can't seem to find again. Hopefully you guys can help me.

I don't remember much from it, unfortunately, only that it allowed you to breed your units (including things like planes and tanks) with each other to produce new, more powerful units and you could attack other players. You could also scout out other player's bases with a balloon. I believe there was another very similar game by the same devs but set in medieval times.

Thank you in advance.

Okay. I am coming to Reddit because I have spent ALL DAY trying to find what this game is.

Description:
- four distinct quarters that faced all the different directions for the four players
- older game (maybe 70s or 60s)
- had a timer in the middle that you would crank back.
- one of the quarters was like a wave thing where you placed one of the balls / marbles and had to turn it downward and upward to get it into a hole.
- one of the other was a basketball shooting thing where you had almost three “holders” that you have to get into to get into a hole.
The marbles / ball would go to a hole that would enter the timer so that you can count how many of each color a person earned.
- a game board that you would place the marbles / balls from the inside of the timer to keep score (maybe till 10?).
- called like “sports mania” or such. Maybe marble mania?

I remember playing this game a lot and I deeply need to find it!! Plz and thank you 🙏

Every once in a while I remember this fantastic gem of a game. Riding around looking for the hidden crystals and the different characters that would help build ‘My city.’ I think I would literally buy a ps2 and an old tube tv just to play this game again.
