Does anyone else feel like nessa is kind of ruining her career rn?
dont get me wrong guys i love nessa shes one of my top 5 on spotify but she desperately needs to stop posting these random corny instagram videos of her dancing on her main account and she should use her main for promo, release announcements photo shoots, photos from events ect and used her spam she would get less hate and probably more views rather than scrolls. As well as if she would stop trying to be the next lana del rey, and literally stealing her music aesthetic/sound (a blatant example is venom) she could be her "daughter" (when i say this i mean how people say sabrina is taylors daughter or maddison is arianas, ect) but she needs to find and adapt to her own sound and stop making music that is similar to venom or west coast prayer because that vibe doesnt fit her. She should hire new people to work on her lyrics and quit vaping/smoking and take vocal lessons and use her true voice instead of doing what people do when they cover LDR and truly learn how to play the guitar, piano ect. People say nessa's peak defo was 2021-2022 but if she did stick with this new gothic aesthetic but make it less pinterest mood board vibes and stepped away from trying to bring lana del rey vibes. I could see her peaking higher because she really does have potential in her music (given her ability to write) and we are yet to have a gothic, dark pop girlie (i kinda would prefer if she would stay niche but known +i dont think her mentall wellness could take what real popstars go throught daily) but if she keeps up the vaping/smoking and making music thats been done she wont get anywhere and will eventually get dropped by her label. I think she could be where addison is now, maybe if she stuck with the music she made in 2022 she could be in addisons spot right now but sadly i do not think nessa would go back to that music vibe and quite frankly, its too late for her to anyways, however like i said this gothic aesthetic has a lot of potential or if she made more music like moulin rouge and stuck with a vibe like that, she could get somewhere because that song and black haired madonna are very visual and u can imagine a whole entire universe form just those two songs which would correlate to her overall aesthetic and instead of taking from the moodboard, she be the moodboard and buffalo 66 had MAAJJOOORR potential but that dumb robot thing she did rlly ruins the beauty of the song and instead she shouldve had real vocals or used some of the time the time the robot thing takes up in the song to create a bridge. Jesus Loves a Primadonna has a lot of potential in my opinion but i am just tired of her depending on aesthetics lyrically, yes aesthetics are important but i do not think they should have any association with the lyrics/dept/meaning of a song. She also has very little seriousness in her tours giving that there is not much production compared to smaller artists who make a bigger splash when they have their tours and smaller budget than she probably had (given with what we've seen with JLAP tour where all she did was play a few chords on a guitar and played the tambourine and danced in place. Nessa’s strongest quality is her visuals and atmosphere. Songs like Moulin Rouge, Black Haired Madonna, and even parts of Jesus Loves a Primadonna feel cinematic and like they belong to an actual world instead of just random playlist music. That’s honestly what makes people stay interested in her. The gothic/dark pop lane suits her way more than trying to chase trends or just being a normal pop girlie because starting artists always need to be distinct from others. But I don’t really think she needs to completely abandon the Lana influence but rather tone it down because almost every artist starts out visibly inspired by someone. Lana herself was inspired by other artists too. I think the issue is more that Nessa hasn’t fully separated inspiration from identity yet. When she does, she’ll probably get taken more seriously. I also think people are way too harsh on her vocals sometimes.Other than her vaping and smoking people act like there is something genuiny wrong with her voice and they expect all female artists to be able to hit a sabrina high note minimum She doesn’t have a powerhouse voice and I don’t think she’s trying to. Her voice works better emotionally and stylistically rather than technically. Vocal lessons could definitely help her confidence and consistency live though, especially if she wants longevity. The one thing I disagree with most is the idea that she’s “over” or peaked already. She’s still young and artists reinvent themselves all the time. If she locks into a sound that feels fully hers and stops worrying about aesthetics before substance, I genuinely think she could have a really strong era later on. I am not hating i rlly do love nessa bottom of my heart i have a lot of her vinyls and cd's and everything it just frustraits me how her career could be so much bigger if she had more originality and quit vaping because the difference in her voice from 2022 to now is very obvious and i really really would like to see nessa sky rocket.
(writing this i realize west coast prayer is very lana like and thats what i mean, its not copying, its the likeliness of each other that they should share so it isn't taken as copying/stealing which would lower her hate rate a ton (given that her snark community has more visits than her fanpage which makes me sad) and would gradually build her likableness from lana fans and others)
