Teaser for W4. I would imagine these go up tomorrow
i'm working on an art project. taking inspiration from science fiction and horror films/toys/book covers etc. it's all drawn on Index Cards...i felt it was time i paid tribute to this fascinating toy range. i hope you like them.
I think it's fun recreating toys with another toy, i.e. making toy models out of LEGO pieces. When I see LEGO parts that rekindle some toy memory, it inspires this creativity. In this case, the white arch pieces made me remember the Time Traveler action figures.
It amused me that the Micronauts Time Travelers seemingly wore moccasin chukka boots, so fashionable in the mid 1970s LOL. That's my favorite detail with these figures, the shoes, because for any adventure, proper footwear is essential.
I bought my first Micronaut today for $23 shipped. He has some damage but the sarcophagus looked amazing. Now I see that I thought he was a Pharoid, he's actually a Galactic Defender? Kinda sad but I started somewhere. I almost bought one of the Super 7 figures earlier but wanted to start with a vintage figure. I was born in '77 so never actually had any growing up. They just seem really cool the more I research them.
To me the biggest heartbreak of the Palisades micronauts line is this version of the Red Falcon. The purple Repto is gorgeous too but I was really taken by the Red Clear Variant of the Red Falcon, but the plastic integrity of the later Palisades line was so poor that he just falls apart after a while. I had him in storage for years then I pulled him out and fired his fist for fun and the trigger immediately broke and the fist is useless. Also putting a missile in the wing holder broke one of the tabs too. I have a close friend who said he will try to fix it for me so we'll see. Still gorgeous in the light though.
There's a lot that can be said about Super 7 product in general, but their Microtron is spectacular.
The inverse of M163 - I actually like this scheme better.
48/49 years of age and still looking this good.
Am I the only one who wished he kept it on more?
That entire first run it was a mystery what was under there, and then as soon as it was off, it barely seemed to stay on after that.
Including the huge run where he was just a big guy in his pants.
Title says it all, anyone own peg stands that work with the Micronauts?
