My fiancé is wondering whether or not to switch.

She 23F normally uses tampons during the day and pads or the reusable underwear at night. She is wondering the pros and cons of switch and if it’s something she should try. Any and all advice would be great please.

Second period cycle using cup and it leaked in office😭

This is my second period cycle when I am using menstrual cup. I had issues while inserting some times in the first cycle but it never leaked. I got confident and was so happy. Yesterday evening I got my period I used the cup and everything was fine. This made me over confident. I am based out of Mumbai and it’s too hot and humid these days, so I decided not to wear a pad for just in case it leaks as my friend suggested. I went to the office and the nightmare began. It had leaked but at least I didn’t spoil my panties. I got it out, washed it and now I tried inserting it back and I realized I have never done that sitting on a commode. I was wearing jeans so I wasn’t able to indian squat properly now I am in the tiny washroom struggling to get this thing inside me somehow I managed to insert and then had used a pad for safety. And it did leak again.

Girls suggestions please how do I do it on a commode and second I am not sure I understand that the cup opened even though I do all the checks in the yt tutorials.

I am just an easy-to-irritate person, and when it's time to boil a cup i just hate it. How are you guys boiling it? using any tools/appliances, or you have things in your bath that help you, i have a cup specific for it take to the stove and boil it, and a lot of question what is it? why are you boiling it?

Is there any teen girl out here who actually uses menstrual cups?

I'm excited as well scared to use it as I heard its tough to remove it!

I never used things like tampon or anything... Only pads! But recently pads are being so irritating to me especially in summer when I have to sit for long hours it's not at all comfortable all the sweat+blood just caused a lot of irritation and also there's no sir circulation when you wear pad and then underwear and your bottoms! It's literally blocked which again causes issue like fungal infection.

Should I switch to menstrual cup? Can you give me some tips.

So after using tampons and pads for my period and using period pants I decided to buy a menstrual cup. So because I’m broke I decided to get one from AliExpress and basically when I tried it for the first time it inserted okay I followed all the right directions however I was unable to take it out, I tried to watch every YouTube video on how to take out. I couldn’t take it out. I had to get my sister to do it for me because breaking in the suction was impossible and it hurt me. I was thinking of buying a menstrual disc but I’m just thinking that if I can’t use a Menstrual cup I shouldn’t use a menstrual disc. Now I will say that when I use the menstrual cup, it was really good before I got stressed out on trying to move it. I think it’s because I got it from a cheap place that it was bad and that’s why I had a bad experience. recommendations for affordable menstrual disc all cups

How do I use a menstrual cup?😭

I’m very new to this, and I’ve watched tons of videos, but I still can’t figure out how to use the cup properly.

Call me dumb, but I can’t seem to insert the cup. I can’t even find the opening properly 😭😮‍💨 Even when I think I’ve found the target, I’m still unsure how to insert it. I tried after watching videos, but the cup just wouldn’t go inside, It’s just so big. (I have a small-sized DivaCup)

I’m currently on my period, and this is frustrating af🧘‍♂️

Please be nice!!

Popping too early?

Few months ago I bought a menstrual cup but i found it too difficult to hold the cup for long while inserting it. Always pops very close to my opening and that hurts. I tried the c fold, pushdown fold and it always pops too early! I don’t know what am i doing wrong and if there is a tip about how to do it properly. I tried getting a different cup(supposedly softer but feels kind of the same to the first and pops too early)

Stem poking, not sure if i can push it deeper. Any techniques????

This is my first cycle with a menstrual cup of size s and a week ago I started practicing putting a finger in my vagina and researching in reddit and YouTube. After tons and tons of info I was determined to get it right and got it in after the third try on the first day(yesterday) with the punch down fold and was ecstatic and slept away. Suction and insertion were easy peasy removal in a bit difficult but I can manage it.

My main problem is that the stem keeps poking me like I can feel it and its uncomfortable for me to sit but Im not sure I can push it any deeper and suction happens almost immediatiy after I push it in. I feel like the cup sits perfectly but pokes my folds. Ive used it for three times till now across 24 hours and the discomfort is always there sometimes a little mild sometimes more.I tried getting to the top of the cup stoping suction and pushing it in but I feel like the suction is too firm for that and ig once I almost succeeded but pushing it in but it was causing discomfort and slight pain so I stopped and I also tried pinching the bottom and pushing it upward too. Plus I tried measuring my cervix(the thing felt different than the insides of my vajayjay ig that is it). It was about 3 inches and the cup is almost the same height as how far my finger reached. Im scared to cup a bit of the tip off cuz what if

  • the tip is sharp and hurts my labia more
  • its an irreversible decision what If I never really needed to cut it off
  • it makes it harder for me to use it

Im not sure whether I got my cervix right, whether I have the potential to push it up but dont have the right technique or I have to cut the tip of the bottom off. Tips and suggestions needed please help, my questions are:

  1. If I can push it in a little bit higher with a better techniques
  2. Do I need to cut the tip off
  3. Do I have to go through the process of trial and error to make sure that I cant push it upwards
  4. Any other tips that can help me

Hi! I’m a teenager (16f) and I got a diva cup today from a wellness fair at my school. (It’s so awesome that they’re doing that?!!) I got a size zero and a though I’m not currently on my period i wanted to do a sort of dry run and try inserting it just to see if it’s comfortable.

I use tampons so I didn’t think it would be an issue with size but my vaginal canal is.. extremely tight??

Like, I usually don’t have an issue fitting a tampon up there and idk if it changes when I’m on my period but after trying (and painfully failing) to insert the cup, I tried with just my index finger and it was like, squeezing it out.

I tried both ways of folding but neither worked. I want to make this work for me because not having to spend money on tampons would be great.

Any tips? What am I doing wrong?

(Sorry for any bouts of TMI.)

Pinching the base does NOT break the seal for me and I can’t reach the rim or close to the top of the cup (I have an Athena cup it’s like the exact same as a diva cup but slightly softer - I’ve tried 2 other ones but they are short and even harder to reach and are also not compatible with the cup applicator I have)

I have super short fingers (like, kid sized hands and my arms are short as well, I also have big boobs and find they get in the way lol) and I’m new to using the cup - I literally have to use an applicator to even insert it because my arms are too short to position my hands to get the angle to get it in

I have to go like all the way to my base knuckles which doesn’t feel far enough while bearing/pushing down in a full squat to even reach the stem and it’s so slippery inside that pinching just slips it further up and it takes me a longggggg time to work my way into getting it low enough and my fingers high enough to reach high enough on the cup to break the seal

Are there any alternative ways I can break the seal if squeezing the base doesn’t do it and I can’t reach the rim or near the top of the cup?

I’m not used to penetration in general so it’s still a bit anxiety inducing and a bit painful for me doing this and I’m currently practicing while not on my period, and I’m kinda scared to even leave it in for longer than a few mins😅

Softer than OrganiCup (Europe)

Hi everyone,
I’ve been a regular menstrual cup user since 2020, and I love it. I’ve been using the Organicup (AllMatters), but I think it may be causing me to get UTIs quite regularly. I also have a hard time fully emptying my bladder while using it.

I’ve checked a lot of recommendations for softer cups, but some of the suggested options are either discontinued or not available in Europe. Do you have any current recommendations for softer cups that are available in Europe, especially in Germany?

I saw some people recommend Merula, but according to the firmness charts it seems to be on the firmer side. Lily cup also caught my attention, but I wanted to ask here first. Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

Cups for very low cervix

I have a very low cervix and am looking for a cup that won’t hurt. I currently have the Lena regular cup it doesn’t leak and works alright when I wear it inside out. It rubs some because it sticks out of me a bit due to having a low cervix due to prolapse. The rubbing is what I am trying to get away from. I accidentally left it behind 14hrs away at my FILs house so I need to buy a new one and am looking for no rubbing.

I think my cervix sits inside the cup so I may need something wider? I am looking at Merula, Viv xs. Meluna shorty (but which size? Too many choices), and hello low cervix but open to other choices. Give me pro’s and cons -less expensive is better? What have you heard about the satisfyer? The shape looks similar to merula and comes with 2 sized cups.

I tried discs for the last 3 periods. I really wanted them to work. They were comfortable but leaked really bad. I tried two sizes but they wouldn’t stay behind my pubic bone. Probably because I have a tilted uterus (retrograde).

My experience with cups as a new user

This shit is MIRACULOUS! I'm not even kidding it feels like that. I have had my first 2 dry periods and it was just so peaceful. No leaking no stains no smell no hiding yourself no walking awkwardly. It felt like I wasn't even on my periods. I could sleep in whatever position I wanted and I'm genuinely so happy that I switched to cups. I'm still fascinated by it and waiting for my next period to use it again. The only problem I have with cups is cramps. I don't get stomach cramps but I get deadly booty cramps usually on the first 2 days and somehow the cup being inside made the cramps worse. But with all the other benefits I feel like I can endure this much. And I'm still so happy about switching. Never going back to pads

Hi there!

I'm interested in buying a cup or a disc, but am not sure which one to choose or if either is really right for my goals. I'm trying to become more sustainable, but I've used period underwear for about 4 years now and I just find them to leak a lot, smell, and be a hassle to go out in.

Cups or discs seem like a great option, but I'm honestly terrified of anything to do with reaching into my vagina. Like, my OB/GYN did a pelvic exam on me and it pinched for a second and I fainted. I tried a tampon once and it just felt uncomfortable and I'm not very comfortable with my anatomy in general.

I've done a bit of research into both and many people say that cups are great for beginners, but they depend on suction which freaks me out (even though I know it can't get stuck in there). Discs seem to be easier to pull out, but they require reaching deeper into your vagina.

For additional context, I don't mind touching my own blood and I have a high cervix. I was very sensitive the one time I used a tampon, so I am also looking for an option that feels the least noticeable once it's inside. Also, I'm a student and don't have a lot of money to spend on trying different products.

I'm wondering if anyone's had a similar experience to me, how did you get over this fear, what you're using now, and if I should considering investing in a cup or disc, or put some more research into it.

Thank you guys so much!
