Advice after hole in ear reopened

Hi! i was hoping for some general outlook / advice regarding a hole in my ear. I (20AFAB - reside in the US) had tubes in my ear as a child that, when they fell out, left a hole in one of my ears. I underwent 2 surgeries to patch it. The first used an artificial graft which failed, and the second used tissue from my ear. That worked so far, but now it's been maybe 13-15 years and but recently the hole has returned over the last year or so. I've always had intense scar tissue in both ears thanks to the tubes and haven't noticed a decline in hearing since the hole reoccured. I have not had an ear infection or pain (except when I had a cold , but it was in both ears) since then.

I am extremely hesitant to do a third surgery due to my history and feel as though that's whats being pushed on me without much regard. I am seeking a new ent but it will take some time. I cannot find much online and I'm really just wondering if there's other options or if a third surgery is typically the only course of treatment. I am extremely worried about adverse side effects either way.

Somethings going on…

I’m 28F. I’m a bit overweight but not huge. I have anxiety and panic disorder, for context. I also have PCOS and celiac.

For the last few months I have not been feeling well. It started as extreme exhaustion, body aches, headaches, chest pain and numbness/tingling in my arms and fingers. No fever, only had cold symptoms for two days. I went to urgent care after 2 weeks and they ran tests, negative to Covid/Flu. My WBC were elevated but all other basic labs checked out. They suggested it was viral or anxiety induced. I connected with my PCP to follow up, on week 6 of this at that point. My BP was fluctuating around 89/64 each time I took it. My HR peeked at 162 resting. More labs were done, everything was seemingly normal but my LYME was elevated. They stated could be possible re-activation but weren’t certain. She is now exploring a possible autoimmune disorder - thinking possible Lupus, RA or Fibro. She is also sending me for a head CT as I’m now on 4 months of a headache every single day, I live on Tylenol/ibuprofen around the clock. I guess I’m just uncertain, what to expect, what I should ask for or suggest? I just want to feel better and be able to be present in my child’s life and not hide away because I feel god awful.

Possible thoughts on potential diagnoses:

Lupus

Fibromyalgia

RA

POTS

IIH

Any insight or ideas appreciated

23F i want to know what my déjà vus are caused by

hey. it's not an emergency or anything like that but something that's been bothering me as long as i can remember myself.

medical history - i was ran over at 6 while crossing the road from the playground, didn't break anything but had a medium brain injury, never had a CAT scan, only EEG, i think, first after the accident and then when i was around 8 years old.

i have no recollection of whether i had constant déjà vu before the accident but i know that i've had it for as long as i can remember myself, every moment of my life. sometimes i manage to get distracted from that realization but it never goes away, sometimes when i have nothing to focus on it makes me feel really helpless because i feel that it all happened before and not just once.

i never really discussed it with anyone because at the times i have, people didn't know what i was talking about so i've decided to keep it to myself.

i'll be grateful for any theories or suggestions.

Went to the ER this morning and got “lower back strain” but my problem is mainly my left side and leg which is not getting any better but worse… is it just pain or what ?? They didn’t check it. Only did a cat scan on my back. Got a whole limp when I walk and they gave me something to go to physical therapy… I’m in pain tbh and doesn’t feel comfortable at all

Post-op nerve block numbness — is this normal?

I had stage 1 surgery to repair my pinky after accidentally cutting the tendon. My surgery was on April 3rd, and now it’s April 7th. I can move my fingers (I’m not overdoing it), but my elbow still feels numb from the nerve block. I do have feeling in other parts of my arm and fingers (all color and feeling is there), just not really in my elbow. Is that normal?

Mystery Illness

Hi there! I've been seeing a doctor on and off for a couple months now, and am not longer allowed to go to work in my condition (god bless its a union, I dont think they can fire me or anything but they do view me as a liability until I get my physical health sorted) but progress is... so so slow in the Canadian medical system sometimes. Not that I blame my doctor, of course, I know hes a busy, busy man with many many patients. im just looking for... advice or maybe even just words of encouragement, I dont know. it all started in December, when I thought I just came down with a cold or something. My legs were incredibly weak, so I took a few days off. I didnt improve for a week, and struggled to walk greatly, with nearly zero ability to drive my knees forward and a constant fatigue after a couple hours of work. Finally, I felt better. then came February, and things took a turn for the worst. Im exhausted just sitting here typing this, my legs feel like they've walked miles and miles non stop. My knee has locked up in the past, they consistently burn and tingle, and my overall weakness has gone way up. I laid on the floor one day (cat was on the couch and I didnt feel like moving the little guy) and my whole body gave up and I could barely move. I dont know what normal feels like anymore, so I cant even say for certain if Im experiencing any other true symptoms. what do you think?

Dizzy and light headed when I move too fast

I'm female, 19 years, 115kg and 175cm tall if that's relevant. when I stand up or sit down too fast or even just bend over to get something I get very dizzy coming back up. I'm on a few medications (sorry if I mess up brand names and the actual drug names) sertraline, lamotrigine, nortriptyline and yasmin (birth control). i take these every day. I had a recent blood test and everything is fine except my vitamin D which I'm taking vitamins for.

my problem is probably due to my cocktail of meds, but I still want another opinion, do you guys think there's something else here?

Could these test results be a good reason for my symptoms and should I be concerned?

(test results at the bottom of text) I am a 17 year old female who is about 5'1. I have been struggling with my health since I was a extremely young. It all started with my bladder at a very young age where I would frequently get UTI's and was constantly in hospitals for them. I also have been struggling with ankle pain since I was extremely young. I have been to about 6 doctors. I am diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, tics, PCOS, and Hypermobility. Also if it helps my joints are extremely unstable and bendy. For the past i'd say 5 years i've been struggling with fainting. I can be standing for maybe a couple of minutes and then I have to sit down. I have fainted on my bathroom floor and have a few close calls at school where the guidance counselor has had to come get me off the bathroom floor. My heart will race, I will get nauseous, my vision will go black, my legs go weak, and I start twitching. Lately i've noticed that my head has been twitching a lot more and I have been rolling my eyes a lot. I also had an incident a couple of months ago where I was in bed because it was late but my stomach and back were hurting extremely bad because I have lower back pain when I lay down for too long to the point where some mornings i cannot get out of bed without bed because I feel stuck. Well while this was happening my eyes rolled back and I started shaking. My doctors know's about this but even she is stumped with my symptoms. We've tried blood work, a holter monitor, a blood pressure monitor for 24 hours yet we still can't find the issue. It's getting to a point where I can't do simple things such as showering without feeling like death. I've even tried switching doctors. I have no luck. I randomly blank out and stare which scares my friends and i'm always so tired yet so energetic. I am in constant pain with my hips, knees, back, ankles, and neck that I don't remember what it feels like to not be in pain. There are some days where I can barely walk. I get extremely dizzy at times too and I get ringing in my ears. I've been sick for years and when I get any type of common cold I get so sick that I can't move and my family thinks everytime i'm sick it may be my last day on earth. It's exhausting.

Ruptured ovarian cyst what should I do???

Hello I’m a 19y female and about 2 months ago I got an ultrasound due to abdominal pain. The ultrasound revealed a small ovarian cyst that could be consistent with ovulation so I was suppose to come back in three months to do a follow up. However this morning I woke up with sharp pain in my right ovary and every time I walked or moved it would be in pain. The pain lasted for 5 hours while I went about my day with going to classes and what not. At about the hour five mark I’ve had a constant headache and feel extremely exhausted even though I got 9 hours of sleep last night and have had an energy drink. for the past three hours out of the 10 this has been going on for I’ve had chest pain that feels both tight and sharp. I have anxiety and I’m unsure if I’m overthinking all of these things or if I should go to urgent care. Im also not confused but it is really hard for me to focus on anything right now. My parents are saying to just sleep it off but they don’t know much about health issues so I was wondering if anyone could help me please.

Is it safe to do an MRI with a recent history of tryptase-confirmed anaphylaxis?

I didn’t have a chance to ask my allergist. My MRI was changed to tonight.

In October, I had a severe biphasic tryptase confirmed anaphylactic reaction (including shock). IgE negative. Had another episode in Feb.

The allergist said it was cofactor-driven. So I have to be careful when I have a cold.

Last night I got a sore throat similar to strep. Today I feel ok. But it increases the risk for me.

Should I worry about gadolinium?

Allergist has me on Allegra daily and I keep epi pens, that’s it. Should I take an extra dose before the MRI?

Meds: Allegra (fenofexadine), Pepcid, divagel, prometrium. Menopausal.

Female 50. 95 kg, 5’7.

Should I visit the clinic post exposure and ask for PEP?

Earlier today I met a gay guy and we fooled around. He masturbated and came on the floor. Then he finger my anus while I jerked off. I’m worried that his cum fluids was on his finger while he fingered me. I don’t have any anal bleeding but it is sore. I don’t usually have a finger in my anus and worried about cum residue+anal tears.

I don’t know his status and wouldn’t be able to reach him.

Is this enough risk that they will prescribe PEP?

F20, accidentally took wrong medicine

im not sure if this is allowed, but I might need help. so, everyday I take vyvanse as prescribed but today, I was feeling anxious an believed it was my vistaril. it was not, it was something called requiprodal? or requip. I took 2, thinking they were 2mg vistaril. idek how many mg these were. well I felt like a drug addict nodding off, I couldnt speak either, could barely walk, kept almost feeling like I was gonna fall or pass out. when I tried to speak, it was just sounds. when I got home, I tried to take a nap and did for maybe 3 hours. I woke up and only felt the TINIEST bit better. this whole event has been really scary to me because Google keeps telling me to go to the hospital but I have work tomorrow I REALLY dont want to call off. please, if anybody is knowledgeable on this, help me.

How much should I expect to pay for physical therapy without insurance?

Hi! So I was in a wreck last year and broke my pelvis and l3-5 vertebrae which i’m prettty much back to normal from (so I thought atleast.) I was on my dad’s insurance at the time which paid for surgery and the stay etc but he quit his job and has been trying to get on disability since so I don’t have his insurance anymore. When I was at the hospital, they were suggesting I get physical therapy as I wasn’t able to ambulate on my own for about 2 1/2 months afterward, 5 before I was doing it decently lol. I said no to physical therapy because they were trying to send me to 2 facilities that I have not had anywhere near good experiences with in my time working 911 EMS. I recovered pretty well on my own and the bone fused back together perfectly. However I was just talking to one of my coworkers about healthcare and costs and the topic of my physical therapy came up and she asked me “if that’s why I walk like that.” Long story short it made me self conscious and I would like to atleast consult about starting physical therapy lol. My question is how much should I expect to pay for appointments without health insurance? Thanks!

Help - Neck issues and at a loss

Hey all, wanna preface this by saying in 2024 I had a gym injury that I didn’t see anyone for like an idiot in between my left shoulder blade and spine. I saw a physiotherapist 3 weeks into that which helped a bit but I was getting better by then. I think a lot of what follows has to do with that injury.

Last year I had some neck stiffness but had a click show up in my neck every time I look to the left. Initially didn’t do anything but slowly started getting grittier and crunchier so I saw a doctor and after some X-rays, turned out to be osteoarthritis in my C Spine. I’m 30 so I was surprised I had something like this so early but it can happen. I went to physio and it helped a tad, then it kept getting crunchier and the discomfort (not pain) would increase some days and not be so bad on others. Got suggested a better physiotherapist and they helped quite a bit but the crunch in my neck never goes away, it’s every single time I look to the left. The problem now is that my physiotherapist can’t figure the crunch out so I feel they’ve given up on that venture and my appointments have been very fast lately. I keep up with the stretches but recently I get that feeling where you’re close to pinching a nerve but haven’t yet near my scapula and neck like once a week. I saw an Osteotherapist who said it looks like my spine is all over the place but I mentioned that a lot of my pain originates from that initial gym injury spot and refers to my neck. I didn’t walk away from that confident to be honest. He did say that the injury healing wrong could be the culprit of a lot of my issues and making a ton of things compensate.

I feel so fragile like one good shove from someone and I’d be a cripple.

What avenues do I have? Is there a physiotherapist that does X-rays and can do it all? Should I see a chiropractor? I just don’t know what to do. I have a kid on the way and my quality of life has dropped so much in 7 months that I’m really worried for my future.

Broke my nose, now septum is slightly deviated, can I fix this manually?

I broke my nose 8 days ago. ENT said my nose is slightly deviated (did not have this before) but based on eval the nose looks relatively the same on the exterior, with the exception of a small bump on the impact area. I cant really breathe out of the right nostril still, I believe due to internal tissue swelling + the newly deviated septum. is there anything I can do to help this heal properly right now? Can I manually correct the septum at all?

Persistent chest tightness/“sticky” feeling for 2 years after virus - really struggling

Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate any advice.

Around 2 years ago I caught a strong virus. It started with throat pain for about a week, then moved into my chest. Since around October 2024, I’ve had a constant “sticky” feeling in my chest along with tightness and heaviness.

It feels like something is stuck in my chest and it’s there every day. It’s really affecting my quality of life now.

I’ve had:

  • CT scan (normal)
  • Chest X-ray (normal)

I was also given anxiety medication, but it hasn’t helped at all, so I don’t feel like it’s just anxiety.

I originally got sick after a long car journey with my sister (she was ill, AC on full for 3 hours).

Has anyone experienced something like this or knows what this could be? I’m really struggling with this daily discomfort.

Repeatedly getting swimmers ear - no swimming and ENTs give no answers (33f)

This has been an issue since I was a child. I never had the advocacy as a child, so I never went to the Dr’s for it.

As an adult I was told I didn’t have ear infections, since I didn’t swim (military).

Now, as a civilian, I just get treated with ear drops and never given an answer. I’ve seen two ENTs, but by the time I can get an appointment, the ear issue is gone. I wash my hair with ear plugs and try to be cautious. I’ve just had back-to-back infections - one in each ear. What do I need to do?

No taste or smell but tested negative for Covid/flu

I’ve never lost my taste or smell before with a cold, and I’m super sick so I’m just wondering what kind of sickness I have.

I started feeling sick about 6 days ago, started with a sore throat, now it’s chest pain, coughing, headache, and I cannot sleep.

Not sure if I tested too late, or maybe I don’t have the flu or Covid and there is something else going on here?

Any one experiencing this??
