No one accepting rides on Rapido/Namma Yatri in Manipal

Hey guys, is anyone else facing issues booking rides in Manipal lately?

I tried booking in Rapido and Namma Yatri today, but no one accepted the ride even after waiting for around 30 minutes.

Is this normal here or are these services just not active/reliable in Manipal? Do you guys use any alternatives?

Looking for someone to take care of a puppy for 2 months (June-July)

She is currently 2 months old, potty trained, and calm.

Preferably not with someone who currently has dogs (she is extremely scared of other dogs)

Saw police people putting locks to two wheelers in front of the gate itself.

What a greed for money. Crazy people targeting students n all.

Started something in Manipal – The SKWR Theory

So we recently started a small BBQ setup in Manipal called The SKWR Theory, focusing on tikkas, and the response has honestly been way better than we expected. We’ve sold out on multiple days, and people have already started coming back which feels crazy. We’re 3 second-year students from MAHE building this alongside college, still improving recipes and consistency, but it’s been a great learning experience so far. We’ve kept the pricing student-friendly as well. If you’re around Mandavi Emerald and into BBQ, come try it and share your experience.

Would genuinely love honest feedback.

Do you guys like Terra Haus???

I am a bit picky when it comes to cafés I suppose and I prefer outdoor seatings most probably because I usually need a place to work, ngl I find the coffee at Terra Haus pretty good, the prices are high for the food but not bad when you compare it to roys, Idk any other places that have such outdoor seatings apart from the two mentioned, but the folks over there pretty much make you feel comfortable which is a bonus tbh.

MIT Manipal students—what’s day-to-day life on campus actually like?

Wanted some honest insights from people currently at MIT Manipal about general campus life:

  • How long does it take for things to feel normal there?
  • What do weekends usually look like—on campus or going out?
  • Is it easy to maintain a routine or does it get irregular?
  • Are there good low-cost food options apart from mess?
  • How crowded does campus get during peak times?
  • Is it common for people to fall sick initially due to weather/food changes?
  • Are there quiet places to just relax or spend time alone?
  • What do people usually do in their free time when nothing major is happening?
  • How competitive does the environment feel overall?
  • How approachable are seniors and professors?
  • How hectic does the schedule tend to get?
  • How important are clubs/teams, and how hard is it to get into them?
  • Any small things that ended up mattering a lot over time?

Also, any general safety-related things people should be aware of on/around campus?

Does anyone here live in New Mark?

I recently checked out a 4BHK at New Mark (the one behind Polar Bear) and wanted some honest feedback about the place. Are power outages frequent? How’s the housekeeping overall? Also, what’s the in-time policy like? Is it strict or flexible? One more thing I noticed was poor mobile signal inside the house. Is that issue common?

So I registered for a workshop on the mahe workshop/conference registration portal cuz it looked interesting. Except I can't find any information available about that workshop. All ik is that it's being organised on 27th April. Idk the location, the organising dept. Or anything for that matter. How do I find out further information about it? Also is there like a way to find out about these conferences and workshops by any chance cuz most I can do is either rely on websites like these (but they have no info) or the posters they stick up in my dept sometimes or few social media posts that's all.

Mimi & Nala - 2 sweet male cats, 1 year old, looking for a forever home together[Manipal]

Hi everyone,

I am a student living in Manipal. I am sad to say that I need to find a new home for my two cats. My living situation is changing and I cannot keep them. I want to find them a safe and loving home.

Basic info about the cats:

  1. Names: Mimi and Nala

  2. Age: Both are 1 year old

  3. Gender: Both are male

  4. Neutered: No, not yet

  5. Vaccinated : No, not yet

  6. Health: They are healthy. They live indoors only. They are fully litter trained and use the litter box with no problems.

  7. Location: Manipal, Karnataka. I can travel a short distance if you are the right home.

Their personality:

Mimi and Nala are brothers and they are very close. They do everything together. They sleep cuddled up, they play together, and they clean each other.

Mimi is more calm. He loves to sit on your lap and get pets. He will purr very loudly.

Nala is more playful. He likes toys and running around the house. He is also very sweet and will come for cuddles when he is tired.

They are a little shy when they first meet new people. After 1 or 2 days, they become friendly and loving. They have not been around dogs or small kids, so a calm home is best.

There is no adoption fee. I just want a good home for them.

What I am looking for:

  1. A home where they can live indoors only.

  2. Ideally, they stay together because they are bonded. If you can only take one, please still message me and we can talk.

If you are interested:

Please send me a DM. Tell me a little about yourself.

- Do you have other pets?

- Have you had cats before?

Thank you for reading. Please help me find these two boys a good home.
