I tried to recreate the blood moon with makeup! I also included the moon rune. I hope this is ok to post here, I read the rules and it seems like it’s ok. Apologies if not. I do makeup that’s kind of out there so if you’re curious I’m @redmagematty on YouTube and TikTok. I hope it’s ok to mention that here. I sometimes incorporate video game elements into looks.

Most recent look, constructive feedback is needed 💜

I feel that I am getting better with edges, but my blending could be better, but what do other think and any advice?

👋Welcome to r/makeupcritique - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I'm u/RedMageMatty. I like to post looks on the various makeup subs, but I noticed there was no dedicated critique sub. Sure, some of them mention critique in their rules or descriptions, but I’ve found the most I usually get are comments like “ate” or “slay”. Now don’t get me wrong, I very much appreciate those kind comments, but they don’t offer anything to spur growth. With every post I hoped I’d get some feedback or constructive criticism and 9/10 times I don’t. That’s why I wanted to make a sub for the purpose explicitly. I’ve never been a mod and would honestly prefer it if there had been an existing sub for this purpose but I’m here trying to fill a need.

What to Post
Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. Feel free to share your thoughts, photos, or questions about looks you’re excited about, looks you think need help and/or review, cool new products you’ve found, but mostly, post your looks for critique.

I’d like to build a small but active community of people who love makeup, amateurs to professionals, where the community is kind and helpful. A safe place to post any of your looks you’d like outside opinions on, looks or practices you’ve developed blind spots in.

How to Get Started

  1. Introduce yourself in the comments below.
  2. Post something today! Even a simple question can spark a great conversation.
  3. If you know someone who would love this community, invite them to join.
  4. Interested in helping out? I know absolutely nothing about moderating a community, so if the prospect of this sub excites you and you’d like to help out, by all means please feel free to reach out to me to apply.

Thanks for being part of the very first wave. I’m really hopeful we can build something here at r/makeupcritique.

Felt inspired by my plants!

Yes I know I have stars on my face, I just felt like having stars 😂 but the colours were inspired by my passion flower and jasmine, they aren't flowering currently (maybe I'll do something for when they do) but I felt inspired by the different greens. Anyways, I messed up a little on my eyes, did my best, and I got interrupted by my manic goblin (child). I know I look very tired here. It's been a long weekend, so please be kind about the eyelines!

I also have discovered I really like being asymmetrical wavy lines with eyeliner

Critique welcome 💜

I’m trying to create a bride of Frankenstein look, can I have some feedback on how to improve this look?

The idea is like, bride of Frankenstein but she’s had years to calm down and get adjusted to daily life. So like daily wear makeup for her. I thought I’d incorporate green because Frankenstein is usually depicted as green but I’m not sure if it would be better to just lean into the greys and blacks and maybe have a very small pop of green.

Suggestions appreciated!
