Third bifold attempt. Leaning into high-contrast colors and refining my edge work.

Following the projects for my Dad and Uncle, I wanted to try something even more bold for my third build. I paired Navy Croc-embossed cowhide with a Sunflower Yellow accent to see how a "pop of color" would elevate the luxury aesthetic.

Electric blue alligator & goat cardholder

Finished this one today! I loved working with such a bright blue and the gator just pops. I polished it up with Saphir mirror gloss. Goat leather is from Harmattan here in England. Top quality goat!

Stitched at 2.25, Meisi super fine 0.3mm. Blue painted edges.

Thanks for looking!

Crimson hides 3mm irons case pattern (free)

Hey everyone, bit of a milestone for me here, I finally put together my first pattern release. It’s a fitted case for the Crimson Hides 2+5+9 3mm French iron set.
I’m releasing the pattern for free as a little thank you to the leatherworking community. I’ve learned a ton from the people here over the years, and this felt like a good way to give something back.

The pattern includes the layout/template files, both a4 and letter, and is designed specifically around the Crimson Hides 2+5+9 set for a snug fit.

Like I said, this is my first pattern release, so if you have any issues, just let me know.

Appreciate all the knowledge, feedback, and inspiration this community shares daily. Hope some of you get some use out of it. To get the pattern, you just have to head over to my website (link in my profile), and you’ll find it under Leathercraft in the available items section.

I'm wanting to start doing some basic leatherwork. Could you all make some reccomendations on high quality tools to purchase? Basically, I want to start with simple folders, and bags. From there I will probably want to move into nicer stuff.

'Stallion'

Shell Cordovan is unlike any other leather. dense, luminous, and exceptionally durable.

Sourced from a small section of the hide, only a limited amount can be produced from each animal, making it both scarce and highly prized. Its rich depth of colour and subtle grain work perfectly, shifting gently with the light.

Stallion is a tribute to the strength and enduring spirit of the horse. Each panel is carefully cut by hand, padded and assembled delicately. Allowing the natural character of the material to define the form.

Rather than conceal the origins of the material, Stallion honours it. The subject and medium are intrinsically linked. Using excess leather left over from the shoe trade.

resulting in a work that is both respectful and deeply tactile.

Although, still a work in progress i could not help but share this work.

Two card wallets and two watch straps! The grey card wallet was a new pattern of a style I wanted to try out. I'm a fan of goat and alligator together, especially the grey combo. All stitched at 2.25mm with meisi superfine 0.3mm. The straps are both commissions but the card wallets were made just for my own fun. Thanks for looking!

Okay, so I have not done much leather work but know how to stitch and sew. So I wanted to first know if making a 4 slot accordion folder (like the shown reference) for school that will fit my laptop (because the only one I could find is too small) would be a feasible task and would be worth my time as a student over the summer or if i should get a commission done.

For the option of making it myself, I would appreciate any and all advice, including material, videos, or even just tips.

For the option of a commission (because I want it to be unique to me and I dislike large corporations that take the authenticity out of leather) in the area of durham where would you recommend, should I put a commission in online or in person, and how would you suggest I get the idea across, should I draw a reference image of what I want?

Thank you very much for your time and help, I greatly appreciate any and all advice!
