What are these plants, and how do I fix them, along with maybe those purple flower things and the I think clover?
My yard maintenance consists of mowing, but I was scared to mow over these things. No seed, watering, etc. And unfortunately the height adjustment on my mower sucks so I often cut down to the dirt.

Landscapers finished a few weeks ago, there were issues with thorns but they supposedly killed them off. What are these? They’re pretty easy to rip out (Washington state)

Recently noticed this ant pile on these pavers getting larger and larger. I’d like to treat this and have it completely removed, any tips? I live in the south, Alabama

So first off these are the only up close pictures I have of my grass that’s why my dog is in them. So the first picture is my front yard and the rest of the pictures are my back yard. I don’t know if they both have the same grass but I need to know what type I have. My lawn somehow is just full of weeds this year especially dandelions and I had a company come out last week and spray my yard. They will be doing 7 treatments this year for week prevention. Well this first one really killed almost all the weeks but I’m now left with terrible looking grass because of the dead weeds and now the patches the dead weeds left. I know seeding in the spring is hard to keep up with but I’m willing to try. For reference I live in Dayton Ohio area. What is my best course of action? I unfortunately can’t pay an arm and a leg for the full treatment like aeration, scraping the grass, or anything like that. The grass that isn’t weed infested is great and thick. Help!

I somehow managed to transform my back yard in zone 6b from a dirt pit, into a respectable little slice.
First pic is from May 2023, and the 2nd pic is from September 2025. 2 seasons of fall overseeding with twin city resilience II and a regular fertilizer schedule throughout the year.
I don’t typically use any herbicides in the back because of my dog, and her urine definitely results in having to patch in the spring, but nevertheless, it turned out alright.
It’s already starting to green up nicely this spring. Super pumped for the next month, thanks for all the advice!

I am in zone 6a Northern Ohio.
I keep getting these small bare spots in my front yard. Every spring reseed them and it fills in looking nice. Then by mid summer they start getting brown again and then die out. Any suggestions?

I just hired a landscaper to mow, scarify, aerate, seed and top dress my existing lawn. I live in the PNW and the weather is just warming up to 18C. This is in a part sun area. Will the grass grow through?
The photo shows the most covered area.
Edit: in some spot, blades of grass poke through and not in others.

North Central Massachusetts, zone 6b I believe. I core aerated, top dressed, and over-seeded late last September into early October. The was some growth but it did not take the way I hoped. The grass is already starting to grow again this spring. Should I put my pre emergent (lesco dimension) down now or wait a few weeks? My instinct tells me the idea of any hold over “dormant” seed growing is not worth the risk of crab grass.

I am a first time homeowner and new to Texas. I have asked my neighbors what type of grass they have and it seems no one really knows. It says I am located in 8B, and any help/ advice on what it is and how to maintain it would be greatly appreciated!

Zoysia in west FL, is this thing dead? Should I just replace it?
I did a Scott’s bag early in the month and last year it was mostly fine though not lush.
Think it wasn’t getting enough water? In comparison my neighbor has a guy spray his monthly

Location: PNW
Our backyard is taken over by all sorts of weeds. How to fix this optimally? As a brute force method, I am thinking to take grandpa’s weeder to pull all these out. But if there is an alternative/easier approach to it, please let me know.
It has to be dog friendly and environmental friendly approach.

Tips to stop this clover? Has yellow flowers, been pulling them
