My First Cats Ever

I’ve never had cats before! They were stray newborns with a mom that my friend’s aunt found under her porch. I held them while visiting after a festival and joked about taking them, and aunt said please take them. So now I’ve got Tsar Bomba (short haired girl) and Murphy Pike (long hair male). First vet visit on Thursday!

Also pictured is our big old Pyrenees, Luna, who KNOWS something is going on in the spare bedroom but she doesn’t know what it is yet!

what colour do you think his eyes will be?

he’s my first ginger baby and actually despite having 3 kittens before ive only just learnt that they change eye colours (probably because all my other babys are tabby). he’s 12 weeks old and just had his second vaccine, the vet said it may be possible he keep his blue eyes? i know its not that a big of a deal but curiosity is getting the best of me and im impatient!! do we think he will keep his blue eyes (which is rare for a ginger i know) or transition to green?

Advice on fleas

Found this little one on the street. Took him to the vet to get checked out and they said that he’s too young to get de flead. They said he has fleas but not too many. He has to wait 2-3 more weeks to get de flead and get his vaccines. My wife and I already decided we’re keeping him. We washed him with Luke warm water and dawn dish soap to try and get rid of the fleas. We’ve gotten a lot more than “not too many” I’m scared it’s impossible to get rid of all of them on our own. My question is how is he supposed to survive 2-3 more weeks of having fleas? Won’t he be in pain if he waits too long? Anyone gone through this before?

New grandbabies

Hi all.

My cat recently gave birth to 4 beautiful little munchkins and it’s my first time handling neonatal kittens, looking to receive as much advice as possible to give them the best start in their lives such as nutrition, poop stimulation, teething, health and how to help the mother too. Thank you!!

Monty The Rescue Kitten: His Story and How You Can Help

The mods kindly gave me permission to post about Monty, his situation, and my family's search for generosity and compassion.

This sweet little boy is estimated to be around 6 weeks old. We found him the other day on top of a tyre in our driveway. At first he was terrified, shy, and overwhelmed. Once he calmed down and realized we only wanted to help him, he turned into such a loving and gentle baby.

He does have fleas and worms. We need to get him to the vet but we rescued a puppy in March who was dumped on our road and pretty much used up our resources on him. I have contacted local shelters and rescues but no one has any room right now.

We love Monty and he's bonded with us and our dogs. We'd like to keep him and care for him. Luckily our vet is amazing and will allow people to call and put credit on/towards Monty's account. Friends have been generous enough to donate $110 so far towards Monty's care. This means that to purchase Monty a yearly plan which costs around $700 and includes a years worth of visits, all his shots, heartworm and blood test, deworming, flea treatment, and his neuter (and more!) we only need about 59 people to donate $10 dollars a piece to cover his vet care. The vet's office will even send you a receipt for your records. This ensures that the funds will go directly towards Monty's care.

All you have to do if you are able to donate is call the Front Porch Veterinary Clinic and ask to put money on Ellaura Shoop's account for the kitten Monty. You can donate any amount you choose and every donation is appreciated ❤️

If you would rather purchase a physical item, like kitten food or a litter box, I created a gift list for Monty through Amazon so that items directly pertaining to Monty's care and comfort will be shipped directly to his home.

If neither of these options work for you but you still want to donate you can send funds through PayPal to my email.

And of course if you can't donate that's completely understandable. It would help immensely though if you share Monty's story with others though. I created a FB page for him with even more info about Monty and will be posting updates there. Below you'll find the contact for the vet clinic and other helpful links.

I wish there was some way for me to express my utter joy and thankful I feel towards you all besides words as they don't do the immenselity of the emotions justice 💛💛

Please feel free to call between 8am and 9pm and text any time. If you would like additional pictures please let me know so we can help find these adorable kittens their forever home.

Presenting Freckles's favorite toy: The Scarch

It's a cheap bristle arch that we tossed a few children's dancing scarves over. Freckles seems to think she's invisible once she's under it and will pounce out at toys or feet before darting back behind it only to repeat over and over again.

Abandoned kittens

We have a few stray cats around and the wife just found these guys under her car. No mum around.

We are thinking about keeping them but no idea on age or health. Anyone able to help?

I will try and get them to the vets in the next few days.

We have set them up in the bathroom with kitty litter (we used to have another kitten that passed away).
