My First Cats Ever

I’ve never had cats before! They were stray newborns with a mom that my friend’s aunt found under her porch. I held them while visiting after a festival and joked about taking them, and aunt said please take them. So now I’ve got Tsar Bomba (short haired girl) and Murphy Pike (long hair male). First vet visit on Thursday!

Also pictured is our big old Pyrenees, Luna, who KNOWS something is going on in the spare bedroom but she doesn’t know what it is yet!

How Do I Stop Hitch-Hiking Ticks?

Hi friends! We just moved to a very woodsy area and Luna (Loonda Beaster Nut Balooby Butt) keeps bringing in ticks from outside. She’s already on simparica trio, and we keep the lawn cut (which makes me mad because I want biodiversity but whatever). Luna will jump into bed with me in the morning as I’m waking up, and I’ll find ✨deer ticks✨ all over her. Then I get to jump out of bed, inspect, and do laundry! Is there something I can spray on her that won’t bother her, but will stop the ticks from climbing on her in the first place? Or at least reduce the numbers.

TL;dr - dog bring tick in house, make sad. How to stop? Simparica trio, no yell.

Edit: thank you all for your comments! I think we wanna go with the permethrin, but we’re going to consult with her new vet at her first appointment next month.

Edit #2: we’ll do the wondercide instead. A lot of people (after I looked) and the company said that permethrin was safe to apply directly to dogs. But because there’s any doubt that popped up after my first edit, we’re going to play it safe. Thank you again :)
