How are the settings for an Mtech student in hostels?

Do we have to share 2 bed in 1 room, or single rooms are available?

Also how are the facilities in general?

Currently working in IT with 11 LPA but honestly the layoff fear is always there. Now I got an offer from Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur for MTech in Power Systems and Power Electronics which is a new branch there.
My background is EEE so core field is interesting to me, but leaving a decent paying job for a new branch feels risky too. Opportunity cost is also big because 2 years without salary matters for me.
What would you guys choose in this situation? Stay in IT for stability and experience or take the IIT opportunity and move towards core/electrical domain?

I have been offered Mtech Robotics at IIT Jodhpur. CFTI candidate. So i have been sent a mail from Mechanical Engineering Department directly.

They are telling to pay 85k by today (10th May), but I dont really want this Department. But I may take the higher preferences. So if I dont pay the amount now, will I be considered for better seats? Since I am not via COAP portal thats why I domt have that multiple round option showing up anywhere, only email communication.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

So I have my interview for mtech admission in IIT jodhpur scheduled on 13 of May for environmental engineering and material engineering.

I am from civil background. So can anyone please guide me what are things I would be asked in both of the interviews, on which topics should I focus on?

I'm moving out of Jodhpur and I'm willing to give it away to someone who is dedicated for cracking Tier 1 BSchools

Materials Include

- GK Magazines of 2025

- Cue Cards

- VARC, DILR, QA Topic Wise Materials

- Randomly Arranged Class Assignments

- AIMCAT 2025 series Question papers (about 15 or so)

- Interview Prep Materials

- An old slightly torn TIME Bag

Cost - 150₹ (materials are worth about ₹4-6k)

I'm asking for money because I don't want the aspirant to just gather the materials and let them collect dust in a bookshelf.

The act of paying even a few hundred bucks will at least guilt them into studying everyday.

Please dm me and let me know your current study plan and strategy. The most serious // disciplined will get the materials (my old materials, so only one person will get it)

I'm a 3rd btech student. I got selected for IITJ summer internship last month and paid a security deposit of 5k. Now I also got selected for IIT mandi summer internship. I am soo confused on which one to attend. Mandi is a beautiful place and I want to go there. I love mountains and hilly areas. But i have paid 5k deposit in iitj which is non refundable. My parents are very supportive and are ready to bear the loss of that 5k but I feel bad for wasting so much money for no reason. What should i do..?

Hi Seniors! I got an offer for Mtech in AR VR CFTi mode. The last date to accept is the 9th of May. I have some doubts:-

1. How's the curriculum and placement there?

2. Since it comes under School of AI , are students eligible to sit for AI /CSE placements ( atleast for Big companies)

3. Since I'm getting in by CFTI mode, will I get a stipend?
