Currently working in IT with 11 LPA but honestly the layoff fear is always there. Now I got an offer from Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur for MTech in Power Systems and Power Electronics which is a new branch there.
My background is EEE so core field is interesting to me, but leaving a decent paying job for a new branch feels risky too. Opportunity cost is also big because 2 years without salary matters for me.
What would you guys choose in this situation? Stay in IT for stability and experience or take the IIT opportunity and move towards core/electrical domain?
