Practiscore points down
Quick Question, Im Confused, on practiscore there are obviously named IDPA level 1 matches, Than there are a bunch that just say "Points Down". Same thing right? I dont want to show up with the wrong stuff. TIA

Thoughts on conceal carrying a full size frame 4.2 inch barrel? Would also be used for IDPA
At a higher level match (3 or 4)
Stage is a standards stage, 3 targets, loaded to div capacity. CoF is 2 shots ea to head strong hand only, then 2 shots body weak hand only.
Obviously reload needed for most divisions.
Can the shooter unload a magazine with ammo still in it and stow on a magnet on their belt?
Does it matter if the magnet is in front (not concealed under garment) or in back/under garment?
And part b - does the answer change on a regular stage with an unloaded table start that has all loading devices on table?
Just curious.
You have a low light stage and use a weapon mounted light, indoor match, local club, three or four stages, yeah leave the light on for the whole match.
But what if you’re shooting an outdoor regional championship with 12 stages in one day, and there is one low light stage like going through a shed or fabricated hallway. Leave the weapon mounted light on all day or just put it on for that stage and take it off afterwards? Of course you’ll need two holsters, that’s not a problem.
Thoughts?
Hi all, does a mag pouch need to keep the mag vertical or can it be canted? If the latter, is there a limit on how much you can cant it?
Thankw
Hey folks,
I used to shoot an integrally compensated P320 until IDPA banned them. I moved to my Glock 17 but miss how flat shooting the P320 felt in comparison.
I have been trying to research this but haven't gotten a solid answer.
If I get a radian ramjet / afterburner combination and put it on my Gen 5 Glock 17 with Holosun 509 and a TLR-1 is it likely that I will run afoul of either the size or weight restrictions?
Thanks for y'alls insights.
Been thinking about this after running a few stages where shoot-throughs created some real headaches, not just for scoring but for how the whole scenario played out. With the current rulebook putting more emphasis on shoot-through restrictions, things like muzzle safe area indicators and the way fault lines are being designed now, there's a lot more to think about when you're trying to build something that actually feels like a defensive situation rather than just a geometry puzzle. The lateral placement guidance makes sense on paper but it can really box you in, especially when you're working with nested or overlapping fault lines and trying to keep movement meaningful. Some of the stages coming out of state-level matches lately have done a decent job of, using cover and vision barriers to force the decision-making without just punishing shooters for an unlucky angle. Curious how other stage designers are handling the tradeoff under the current rules. Do you lean toward spreading targets out to sidestep the issue entirely, or do you, let some shoot-through risk exist and rely on deliberate non-threat placement to actually test decision-making? And has the stricter cover enforcement during walkthroughs changed how you think about staging it from the designer side, knowing competitors can't just walk it individually anymore?
