Plant 2yo, noname led lights/southern windiwsil,
19°C/38% humidity, flowers appeared to open during day time, scent is a bit carnosa-like + something else (Don't know how to discribe it proper).
Help a girlie out 🙏🏼
My hoya is not growing leaves anymore and idk why. I’m watering it 1x week and didn’t change the position of pot. Should i cut it? Should i keep it like this and wait for the leaves to grow?
I really need to trim and organize these guys, but they seem to be happy and growing well. Any advice is appreciated.
Whole kitchen (northern windowsil) cloaked in citrus scent.
Everybody here needs help, and I'm working on it. Yay crawling out of depression...
Most desperate/immediate need is the hoya due to shelf instability. In last few months the growth has taken off like crazy from a single vine that is now splitting into several.. I started training it up the rickety shelf, but that needs to stop (i didnt expext it to take off so much. Have had it for 10 years and until last 8 months it only had like 5 leaves....). The shelf is not long for this world.
What would you do? Cut the vine into segments and put cuttings into pot (use same overhead strip growlights)? Untangle it and put a trellis in pot to train it up that (on a better shelf with spotlight grow light)? Rig up a hanging pot (with spotlight growlight), wind it around itself and let the trailers trail?
The vine is probably more than 6 feet long at this point and has split at the top into two independent snakes.
Unable to get a proper shot,
flowers are tiny, whole plant is ~10/12cm tall.
LED light, 23°C, 35% humidity, plant about 2 yo, no scent.
Even the seller had no clue what she was, so I got her almost for free! I'd still love to know the specific Hoya variety, though🧐 Gemini didn’t help either😂
I can't believe I spent 100+ on houseplants. Identicatiob from stage right to stage left:
This one is a Hoya Calistophylla narrow form ( I think it is cuter than the wide form/black cat)
Hoya Clemensorium - 50+ for a punny little plant - this is peak depression coping
Hoya Finlaysoni pink flower - hopefully I can bloom it.
Hoya lacunosa snow leopard - it is so stunning visually in the light. My photography skills don't do this justice
5.Hoya Griffiththii silver - I prefer this to Wilbur Grave Carnosa ... hopefully I can bloom it but Griffithii is not the lowest grower in my opinion
7.Hoya UT-033 I heard this one sun stress but the Canadian winter is brutal
Yes, posted it often enough, but it's doing really fine in Seramis. It's a rare but uncomplicated Hoya.
Raised from a small cutting. It belongs to the "bellas" (obviously). About 2yo, scent like a bella, but more faint.
Last two pics flowers of both close together.
H. paxtonii is way smaller yet leaves are much larger and longer. Since I fucked up the roots, it's in Seramis now and thriving really well in it.
Gladly her sent is not so harsh as of Hoya sp. Gunung Gading, but it's the same type, just more faint/moderate.
Hello, new to Hoyas, starting with a group of Hoyas given to me. I have identified most, but a few I am still working on, like this one. A few questions I hope you can help me with.
What is it's name? I included a ruler so you can see how big the leaves are. It has been identified as a number of Hoyas, and a few non-hoyas by recognition apps. I have scrolled back though a year of posts on here, and dont think I have seen this one.
Is this leaf just telling me it wants water? This leaf dying? No other leaves look like this.
Are these protrusions peduncles, where I might get flowers?
Thank you!
My variegated Hindu rope is about to bloom for the first time! Time to repot my regular one. She blooms almost constantly
For the first time, my Hoya Wayetii bloomed! I always get excited when my Hoyas flower. But oh man! The Wayetii flowers stink!! 💩 Like something died, stink. Am I an ingrate for considering chopping off the flowers/peduncle? 😩😆
There are several more peduncles on my Mathilde and i’m just so damn chuffed. Hoyas have been like my holy grail, and even tho i bought this one only a few months ago im taking this as a sign that she’s happy and i’m an ok plant mama (for now haha). And yes she needs to be rehomed to a more permanent climbing situation but now that she’s blooming i think i need to hold off for a bit? i don’t want to disturb the precious!
