How did Sendo even survive this combos, these blows echoed through the entire arena.

Sendo will surely retire after this fight, Ricardo is going to end him.

Who Would win? Kimura vs Itagaki?

(Ignore the cursed image)

Parameters: Fighting at natural weight, 10 round match, 3 knockdown rule, assuming narrative bias isn't applying (i.e. it being a tie to appease the audience)

Lets get the obvious out of the way. Itagaki is the more skilled boxer by far. The talent, skills and abilities he has displayed in matches prior and up to his titleship bout are similar to that of a not fully developed Wally.

However, Kimura is a weight class above and if they are fighting at natural weights, 2 weight classes above. Furthermore in Itagaki's fight against Karasawa and Saeki he showed that he can struggle against a more experienced opponent who uses strategy rather than raw speed/power. Kimura is an expert at using strategy (when he wants to) and if given the stamina/power blessed by being at a natural weight could definitely pose a challenge to Itagaki.

My opinion is, taking them both at their primes (Vs Saeki/Imai + Vs Mashiba) it would likely come down to Kimura's ability to formulate a plan vs Itagaki's overwhelming speed and chronos time. I could see it going either way, but I think maybe a late round KO on Kimura from Itagaki.

Thoughts?

Is this Takamura at this point?

Bro is wild against Hawk, unleashing that glowing blue eye as a form of mastered UI is really insane

About new challenger, every fight except ippo's fights is insanely fascinating,I was a little disappointed about ippo being like a side character,I hope he won't be like that in rising

Cool idea Morikawa could do with takamura

What if takamura's first ever ''loss'' was a draw instead, could happen prob in his cruiserweight-heavyweight rounds. Instead of flat out losing he'd draw instead due to his opponent just equalizing him i guess, idk i just think its a cool idea.

Kamogawa coaches Ippo to forget about the DR and use the basics and to use his jab more.

I saw a post earlier in the week about Kamogawa being the worst coach ever and not telling Ippo to use his jab more.

I believe that Kamogawa gets too much hate and Ippo is equally to blame. But I truly believe that neither is to blame for Ippo's retirement. Ippo lacked the ring IQ to keep up with higher ranked contenders and that is what lead to his downfall.

Kamogawa sealed the DR for a reason. He noticed Ippo losing sense of his boxing abilities. So he tried to have Ippo focus on his fundamentals and get him to throw 1-2 punches more and to start jabbing.

In the next set of scans, I want to point out that Ippo is not a natural genius like Takamura, Miyata and Volg. Nor does he have the natural instincts that Sendo has. He has always lacked the boxing IQ to be a technical fighter like Alfredo Gonzalez and Eiji Date. But he always made up for it with his stamina, endurance, durability and power. Here he tries to jab Take, but doesn't realize right away that Take switches stances. But again, Kamogawa was trying to get Ippo to jab more and Ippo definitely was trying.

People will always reference how technical Ippo was during his rookie kings. Well that's just it, he was fighting against rookies. But his experience and ring IQ was exposed more and more the higher he ranked up fighting better fighters. I don't think it's a inconsistency either that this happened. It mathematically makes sense that it happened.

Right now during the retirement arc, Ippo is getting what he needs. He is looking at boxing from a trainer's standpoint and this is growing his ring IQ. He's becoming a better strategist as well as a better defensive boxer from holding the mitts.

Unpopular Opinion: Nekota deserved to be someone’s first choice

Man, I felt legit bad for Nekota the whole flashback arc. The more I think about it, the more it feels like he was never really her first choice.

That goodbye scene between Yuki and Kamogawa pretty much says it all. She was clearly about to pour her heart out and confess, and he just shuts it down and hits her with the “I love boxing more than anything” line. Like... bro. That was a rejection, even if he didn’t mean it to be one.

And then what happens? She ends up with Nekota.

Idk, maybe I’m alone on this but it always felt a little off to me. Imagine loving someone with your whole chest, but deep down you know she probably wanted the other guy first. That shit has to eat at you sometimes, right?

What makes it worse is that Nekota is actually such a good dude. Loyal as hell, kind, emotionally open, always showing up for people. He never got petty, never tried to compete with Kamogawa, never turned bitter. Even after everything life threw at him, he stayed warm and genuine. Dude didn’t deserve to feel like the backup option.

I’m not saying Yuki was wrong or using him or anything. Feelings are messy. Sometimes timing sucks, sometimes the person you want can’t give you what you need, people move on. That’s life. But still… Nekota deserved to be someone’s first choice. Not the safe, steady guy she turned to after getting her heart stepped on.

The more I sit with it, the more straight-up tragic his whole character feels.

Edit;- Well I got my answer, Nekota had time to move on but he didn't, I don't feel bad for him anymore, he got what he wanted(to be there for her), now feeling bad for yuki lol.
