Yes Takamura told ippo to become the best for himself but to look at in a way does he HIMSELF does it for him?
Ofc he does, but taking note of how he always hurries and is in a state of "shit theres not much time" and taking note of the famous theory that he is like that because of kamogawas age, we can say he himself has not fully conquered that line yet.
RICARDO MARTINEZ on the other hand, even though we have very less knowledge of the man, is well past that line visibly.
