Discontinued perfumes/fragrances - What's your best choice?
If you can bring back a discontinued fragrance/perfume/scent, what would that be? Also, is there a way of getting it (even in black market) if it's discontinued?

I'm curious. Say you're sharing an office with someone or sitting next to them on the train for a few hours. They're wearing a scent you find ok. Not your favourite, nothing you'd personally wear, and nothing polarising like Tyrannosaurus Rex or Sécrétions Magnifique. You can smell it for several hours while you're sharing a space, and for a little while after they left. How do you feel about that?
Alright, I need you fragrance snobs to explain this to me like I’m an idiot… before I start questioning my own sanity.
I’m a certified freshie addict. Clean, bright, just stepped out of a luxury shower type stuff. That’s my lane.
Stuff I love: Allure Homme Sport, Allure Homme Sport Superleggera, Versace Pour Homme, Versace Eau Fraiche, LV L’Immensité, Acqua di Gio Profondo EDP, YSL Y EDP, Bleu de Chanel EDT, Aventus Cologne, etc . . .
So I’m at Macy’s, minding my business, and the sales associate sprays me with Dior Homme Cologne.
I had an immediate spiritual experience. I saw light. Heard angels. Considered texting my mom that I love her.
I almost bought that stuff on the spot. Almost!
My wife has made it very clear that if another full bottle enters this house, I will not. Unlike the rest of you mere mortals, I operate with unmatched courage and ironclad resolve. Absolutely fearless. Completely unshakable. So naturally, I went on DecantX and ordered a stealth 10ml like a tactical professional. She has no idea what a decant is so won't have a clue when she checks the bank account.
Then the other day, I am on here minding my own business and I see you guys mention Dior Homme cologne. Naturally I click. All I get is a bunch of ya'll Dioring on some straight up Homme. The clean summary of that post was: If you like Dior Homme Cologne, you HAVE to try Dior Homme Sport and Dior Homme
So I did
WHAT THE HELL!!!! Why does Dior Homme Sport smell like I just clocked in for my shift at the public restroom???
Dior Homme is less offensive, but still giving luxury bathroom cleaner with a seriously underfunded marketing budget.
I genuinely don’t get it. This stuff absolutely sucks.
There’s got to be a note my nose absolutely hates. Because I’ve noticed a pattern:
Certain Creed stuff like Original Vetiver and wild Vetiver make me instantly recoil like i've been maced. Roja Elysium, less so but same problem. Everyone else says oh so fresh, so clean
So what is it?
Is it Neroli? Vetiver? Some citrus plus musk combo? One of those clean molecules that just reads as bleach to me?
does anyone know any perfumes that smell like the almond collection from L’Occitane? I’ve been hearing of almond milk from mischief Academy and I have been quite interested in that one, but I don’t know if they’re similar and I’ve been wanting a perfume smells like the almond collection.
Hi all, my girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I'm thinking of getting her a fragrance as a present. Tried asking her if there's anything she's eyeing up but couldn't get an answer. Her favourite fragrances/brands are Xerjoff Lira and Nicolai Musc Intense, and another favourite brand of hers is Fueguia 1833. I asked Gemini AI and it suggested Amalia Gourmand by Fueguia 1833. What do you guys think? Based on her two favourites, will she like the fragrance or should I look for alternatives? Thank you in advance!
THIS IS NOT MY APP I JUST FOUND THIS IN A DISCORD AND I AGRUED THAT ITS USELESS AND THE GUY BUILDING THE APP DOESN'T BELIEVE IT IS
He says:
The app is for people who actually care about fragrances, people with collections, not just 1–2 bottles. The bottle screen acts like a hub where you can quickly decide what to wear, see how a fragrance performs for you, and keep track of what you actually use vs forget about. The useful part is it learns your habits over time. So instead of guessing, it helps you pick based on occasion, weather, and what you’ve been reaching for. On top of that, it tracks when you’re running low and lets you restock instantly according to best prices/affiliate links, plus suggests similar scents you’d like. So it’s not just tracking, it’s helping you decide, manage your collection, and buy smarter. If you only have a few perfumes and don’t think about it, you wouldn’t use it. But for people who are actually into fragrances, its useful.
I say:
it doesn't solve any real problem and there's no shot anyone would pay for it.

probably vibecoded slop too.
Hi! I'll be forthcoming: I'm not a fragrance snob, and my nose is definitely not the most distinguished. However, I recently ordered some samples of two D'annam fragrances that have been circulating as amazing tea scents (Pomelo Oolong and Matcha Soft Serve). However, after I tested these both on myself and on paper, I was dumbfounded. Both of these have their respective tea blend as a top note on Fragrantica, and I've seen people raving about how this is the perfect photorealistic tea fragrance. I decided to keep my mouth shut for a bit, but then
I saw a video about tea fragrance differences based on perfumers who lived in China vs. who didn't (from a creator I forget, sorry!) that really captured how I felt: it smelt like they were how someone imagined tea was, rather than smelling like what someone who truly drank tea every day would imagine. By extension, I can't help but wonder if this is also what's happening when people suggest these scents.
Pomelo Oolong doesn't smell bad, but I believe this is far from tea. Oolong itself does have a floral scent, yes, but if you drink a cup of it, there is a light herbal/calming/earthy/bitter scent. It took me a while to figure out what this fragrance reminds me of, but I found it: it smells so much like a Lush Cosmetics store. I think that does reflect the parts it got right, which is a natural, calming, almost essential oil-esque scent (obviously the name has pomelo in it so this is not a negative), but again, like ZERO tea! It is definitely more powdery than it is anything tea, which is so confusing.
Matcha Soft Serve has been hailed as being an authentic matcha, rather than an overly-sweet, non-traditional latte, with bitterness and earthiness. This is the one that truly confuses me. This smells nothing like matcha, like, at all. I regularly drink matcha, prepare matcha, hell, I went to Uji. I didn't smell the sweetness, but my friend also gave it a sniff and thought it almost smelled like a vanilla. My nose is not good enough to give you exact notes, but this almost had a synthetic/strong smell that I might find is a bath & body works mist (not exactly).
I know I can't just expect a cup of tea to atomize into the perfect tea fragrance of my dreams, but I'm genuinely wondering if this is partially just a disconnect in what people believe tea is?
Has anyone else noticed this, or do I just have the worst nose ever?
Side note: I will say that while it is VERY essential oil smelling, I tried London Fog from For A Strange Woman, and it definitely fades out to a scent almost exactly like an actual london fog. The only downside is that (for me) it has like no projection, and the bergamont definitely comes off a bit TOO herbal at times, like it's going into a diffuser. But I still consider it to be a more "accurate" tea profile, if that makes sense.
Hello Fragrance community! Does anyone know what happened to Alien Hypersense? Also I really wish the Mugler Alien line was marketed as unisex, it’s incredible! They are very unisex scents in my opinion! Let me know what’s you favorites too! Thank you so much!
I did not expect to see Oud Zarian being sold at TJmaxx what’s the craziest place you ever saw a fragrance being sold?
Hey everyone, I really like the DNA of Percival — that clean, fresh, slightly musky “blue” profile — but I’m curious about alternatives that lean closer to the older, stronger versions. I’m not necessarily looking for a 1:1 clone, more like something that captures that same vibe but with a bit more presence and consistency throughout the wear. What’s the closest dupe or alternative to the older Percival style?
I recently picked up a sample of this and the regular debaser from DS&Durga due to being on a fig kick lately. While the regular debaser is heavy on the coconut and fig combo leaving it a bit pickly, I was absolutely blown away by the in bloom. It takes the same DNA and makes it lighter, more airy, and transparent. Without sacrificing sillage or longevity. I enjoyed it so much that I made it my scent of the day today. I even received compliments by a couple coworkers. I was also surprised of how good of quality their scents are, and I’m open to hearing others from the brand that y’all think I should try.
Hey everyone,
I’m on the hunt for a perfume for summer evenings and could really use your recommendations. Here’s what I’m looking for: Feminine, but not overly girly
Rose-forward (I love rose when it’s done right)
Not sweet and not that typical heavy fruity vibe
Something a bit fresh, maybe even slightly spicy/green/woody. Good longevity. Basically, I want something that feels elegant, a little mysterious, and not like a dessert. Thank youuuu
In the Fragrant World and Scento, the companies write that they will take your information not only for the achievement of the order but also to process it and share it with 3rd parties in other countries. Why can't they be as simple as 'We'll take your info for the success of the order and nothing more' ? Why would they need to store your info for further process?
I’m sure this is old news, but I‘m out of the loop on almost everything. I used to spend hours a day on fragrantica until a few years ago. But some recent revisits made me laugh out loud at how hilariously unstable and unusable the website is now. It’s as if the flood gates for ads were completely blown off the hinges, more than any owner or staff member would have knowingly agreed to, and now the whole thing is being held together with duct tape and old bandaids. It’s just one ad away from blowing into oblivion and crashing forever.
I’ve recently bought Dossier perfumes for the first time and I’m hooked. I had no reference for their scents I just went off the vibe and the faint smell thru the box lol.
Woody Oakmoss - supposed to be a dupe for Chanel Madmoiselle which I think ive smelled in a Macys before and didn’t think much of it. I just sprayed the Dossier on and it’s so good. It smells very mystical and slightly humid wood a few days after rain. I also get a powdery chateau afternoon tea type of scent. I think it’s the bergamot
Fruity Jasmine - a dupe for Dior J’Adore, have not smelt but its light and good for spring. It’s like walking in a flower garden after peak bloom. It seems good for layering with either an aquatic type of scent or a sweeter scent. Or even more florals.
I’m excited to build my collection! Beats spending a bunch on the brands lol but I’m still learning
I’m not sure if this is ambergris can you guys check my post on what is it Reddit since photos are not allowed on here and I’d really like to know
The opening and first impression is indisputable: «wormwood washed with soap». Very green, floral, with pleasant cleanliness and a little spice. After some time, it evolves to stunning photorealistic rose leaves with the flower itself during its blooming phase - bright, natural, outlining, wet. The pepper is weighty, attention-grabbing, and does a great job here adding what feels like thrones to the flower, making it, in fact, masculine. Sometimes it also shines with sweet and sour notes, but mainly it stays that nose-cutting rose
Mind-blowing performance of authentic parfum with longevity starting from 8+ hours on skin and almost everlasting on clothes, with strong, yet not cloying projection and luring sillage. The bottle is playful and cute, meanwhile, having a luxury league pressurized atomizer that can compete with Dior and Chanel with ease. By the way, 1-1.5 sprays on the neck and chest is all that you need to shine and grab that passing by noses to your persona. I actually usually do half spray and have a performance comparable with most of blue fragrances
Due to the notes in composition, it’s, in fact, versatile for all year-round wear. Yet in summer, you might want to stick with half spray and during winter, press it good 2-3 times. Meanwhile the perfect weather condition is a cold rainy spring day - the feeling just cannot be described with words, you have to live with that experience
Got this on sale and paid 45 euros for 100ml. With every wear, it feels more and more like I committed a crime and should go to jail for getting such a heartbreaker that dirty cheap. It’s definitely in the top 10 of my best purchases in life, not only fragrance-related
Honestly, a huge desire to write a hateful review and tell everyone that it’s the worst chemical mess that you can find, but only for one purpos: I want to rock this masterpiece by myself...
There’s actually not a single downside, except not being for everyone. You must have your own personality and charisma to wear it, or the shiny bear will wear you. This was my love letter to Moschino's masterpiece and I want to finish it with one line: absolutely incredible fragrance with unique and challenging DNA, that truly smells like an absurdly expensive niche
How many sprays of creed absolu for school or public settings
Does anybody have and recommendations on the best travel atomizers to pick from? I need one that doesn't leak, does not change the smell of the fragrance over time and will not cause the fragrance to evaporate over time.
