Dior Homme Sport smells like I’m being aggressively sanitized what am I missing?
Alright, I need you fragrance snobs to explain this to me like I’m an idiot… before I start questioning my own sanity.
I’m a certified freshie addict. Clean, bright, just stepped out of a luxury shower type stuff. That’s my lane.
Stuff I love: Allure Homme Sport, Allure Homme Sport Superleggera, Versace Pour Homme, Versace Eau Fraiche, LV L’Immensité, Acqua di Gio Profondo EDP, YSL Y EDP, Bleu de Chanel EDT, Aventus Cologne, etc . . .
So I’m at Macy’s, minding my business, and the sales associate sprays me with Dior Homme Cologne.
I had an immediate spiritual experience. I saw light. Heard angels. Considered texting my mom that I love her.
I almost bought that stuff on the spot. Almost!
My wife has made it very clear that if another full bottle enters this house, I will not. Unlike the rest of you mere mortals, I operate with unmatched courage and ironclad resolve. Absolutely fearless. Completely unshakable. So naturally, I went on DecantX and ordered a stealth 10ml like a tactical professional. She has no idea what a decant is so won't have a clue when she checks the bank account.
Then the other day, I am on here minding my own business and I see you guys mention Dior Homme cologne. Naturally I click. All I get is a bunch of ya'll Dioring on some straight up Homme. The clean summary of that post was: If you like Dior Homme Cologne, you HAVE to try Dior Homme Sport and Dior Homme
So I did
WHAT THE HELL!!!! Why does Dior Homme Sport smell like I just clocked in for my shift at the public restroom???
Dior Homme is less offensive, but still giving luxury bathroom cleaner with a seriously underfunded marketing budget.
I genuinely don’t get it. This stuff absolutely sucks.
There’s got to be a note my nose absolutely hates. Because I’ve noticed a pattern:
Certain Creed stuff like Original Vetiver and wild Vetiver make me instantly recoil like i've been maced. Roja Elysium, less so but same problem. Everyone else says oh so fresh, so clean
So what is it?
Is it Neroli? Vetiver? Some citrus plus musk combo? One of those clean molecules that just reads as bleach to me?
