I'm not crying you are
Oh for fu*ks sake, Rebecca... 😭😭
RY and Prime Video…
She just posted this along with Prime Video… I’ve never been more scared for a show… A part of me wishes that the characters live in our imagination for a while longer… 🫣🫣🫣 I hope they get a good cast 😓
Made my wife a bookmark!
About to have my first read after hearing about how great it is almost daily from my wife! She was far more impressed with this small project than she is most of my other work! Very excited to get stuck in and experience it for the first time!
Fourth wing Wifi Names
Ive been searching and trying to decide on or come up with a punny wifi name based on books or a band.
I was inspired by a lot of Sarah J Mass and Sleep Token wifi names here on reddit, but couldn't find anything for Fourth Wing.
So.... I just though of "My house. My chair. My WiFi." And I think its the winner for me. I had a long list of options, but this is now my favorite.
Please comment your ideas below. I can't wait to see the fun stuff yall come up with!
“I don’t give a shit. I don’t give a fuck” - the book of Xaden Riorson
Not a single pile of stinking shit was given
Please share little things you like about X and V
>!I really like how they always want to sleep in the same bed since Xaden graduated (except when he has to sleep in the professors' dorm). There's something about it that's so sweet and domestic...Even when they were on 'a break' and were travelling between Samara and Basgiath they always slept in the same bed with only a couple exceptions...like maybe two nights. They even sleep beside each other when they are camping and Violet only sleeps in his - ahem their- room when she's in Aretia. They always sleep beside each other even when they are not even having sex and later Xaden declares it's a no-fight-zone which I also find...very sweet.!<
Fourth Wing Shelf
Wanted to show off my Fourth Wing shelf!! 😍❤️
Fun details!
Just need a break from all the head-splitting conspiracy theories!
I want to know your favorite little moments/details throughout the series!
A recurring detail I love is when there’s always a big ole group of people just waiting outside Violet and Xaden’s bedroom door 😂
Does anyone else reread Fourth Wing as their comfort book?
I originally reread the series to catch details I overlooked the first time, but now it's my comfort book when traveling. Anyone else feel that way?
Xaden’s body count
How many people he kill 👺🥊
Hot Takes
I wanna hear your hot takes about the series. Desperately.
I'll go first:
I do not like Xaden's name. Hate it even. I think "Xaden" is a stupid thing to name someone in a fantasy setting the only Xaden's I know are chaotic little boys still in daycare. That and Dylan. I also thought Dylan's name was stupid.
Malek is a Dragon and could be Tairn
A theory I read about, can’t stop thinking about and spun it further (I’m German, so ChatGPT helped me to translate it so you will understand it properly, sorry if the quotes from the book aren’t a 100% the same):
What if Malek isn’t actually a god, but a dragon and possibly Tairn?
Tairn explicitly says, “Dragons pay no heed to your puny gods,” which makes it pretty interesting that he still references Malek multiple times throughout the series. If dragons truly dismiss human gods, why does Malek remain a relevant point of reference for him?
Then there’s the line from Major Rorilee’s Guide to Appeasing the Gods:
“He who does not burn for Malek will be burned by Malek.” The wording stands out because being burned by something immediately evokes dragons.
In Onyx Storm, the High Priestess says to Violet:
“Or perhaps you now favor another god,”
and then specifically looks at Tairn, which feels far too deliberate to be random if we have this theory in mind.
Another detail: Rebecca Yarros mentioned specifically that one dragon is lying about their name. If that’s true, it raises the question of whether one of the dragons is also hiding a much bigger identity.
This is where I think it gets even more interesting.
In The Fables of the Barren, we get the story of the three original siblings, but I tend to forget that text is essentially mythology, written by humans trying to explain powers they may not have fully understood. Kinda like the Bible. We assume the siblings were human, but do we actually know that?
Because one of them supposedly “commanded the sky to surrender its greatest power.” That wording feels especially important if you know the other theory about dragons using the wrong magic, where the irids represent the original sky-based magic, while other dragons began drawing from the ground instead.
And Andarnas first interaction with the Irids may actually support that. When she finally meets the irids, they’re not merely surprised that she chooses black as her resting color, they seem almost disturbed by it, as if it represents something deeply wrong or historically loaded. Then comes the next line: “You dragons have learned nothing.” Which suggests the real ancient conflict may have always been between dragons themselves, doesn’t it?
So what if The Origin isn’t describing three human siblings at all but the original fracture in dragon history?
What if Malek was the figure who first broke the natural order by drawing power from the wrong source, leading to the split between the irids and the other dragons?
That would also create an interesting Lucifer parallel, not in a literal biblical sense, but in the archetype: a powerful winged being associated with fire, rebellion, judgment, and a fall caused by transgression. Which would make Malek less of a god and more of a mythologized fallen dragon.
That would explain why Tairn references Malek despite dismissing gods, why dragon imagery aligns so strongly with Malek’s symbolism, why the High Priestess reacts to Tairn the way she does, and why human religion in Empyrean may actually be based on distorted dragon history rather than actual divine beings.
What do you think about this?
Fourth Wing YEARN
I know I'm late to the Fourth Wing gang, but I am STRUGGLING with my Fourth Wing hangover every day when I am not reading. I barely want to do anything but read the books and am so disappointed when there aren't dragons flying in the sky in real life.
How have any of you dealt with this coming down to earth, reality crashing blues? I need your tips for how to deal with the mundane daily life away from the Empyrean series
I am also just so deeply invested emotionally in Xaden and Violet and it tugs at my heart strings all day. HELP
Starting this!
I just found out about this series a few days ago so quickly went onto World of Books and ordered the first book. I’ve just started it but thoroughly enjoying it so far.
They should’ve clocked Xaden’s tea right in front of him
I would have paid 1,000,000 gems for them to psychoanalyze Darth Xader right in front of his face
The reason why I want Xaden's POV
I just need to see more of Sgaeyl mocking Xaden🤣🤣 Also his POV made him look like a normal 23 year old with a crush lolll
I can't believe it!!
So i start fourth wing on Sunday and I'm two chapters away from finishing it. I don't usually read books with female MC.
But this book is honestly the best book I have read so far. But there was one character that I was liking a lot. Tch.. I can't believe it. IT'S BEEN. MY HONOR.
HOW MEAN I SAY. Anyways can't wait to finish it after work.
