Hi everyone, this is my first time trying to set up an R4 flashcard. I recently bought a Nintendo 3DS along with it, but after searching online I couldn’t find any guides that use this specific R4 model, which made me wonder if it might be too old.
Does anyone know what I should do with this cartridge or if there’s a guide specifically for it? Also, does it work with 3DS games, or only with DS games?

Ordered a couple flash carts (pre flashed with games was cheapest) and was expecting to get a gbflash mbc5 clone inside, but got this and can't ID it. Maybe a "new" design 🤷 ... Last photo is what I was expecting. Still works fine and holds save just would like to ID.
DSPico is the best flashcart ever made, I think we can all agree on that. It's so fast, a real pleasure to launch games on it, but I wasn't a fan of the PicoLauncher menus/themes, so I was quite skeptical (yes, appearances matter a lot).
It brought a more modern theme to a console that's retro... For me, it didn't work. I preferred the Wood-style menus/themes of R4, for example.
Well, apparently it's possible with AKMenu-Next. Discovering it made me take the plunge and get DSPico.
I can enjoy the blazing speed of PicoLoader while savoring my beautiful menus, which I think suit the DS much better, and above all, the touchscreen works.
I recently got a ds pico and very quickly I had an issue where the spring loaded part of the sd card slot didn’t work. Wondering if anyone has any solution?
Please help find which autoboot files are appropriate for my flashcard. 🙏

I wanna buy a DS Pico off Aliexpress. However, I wanted to know how the quality and shape of the housing is.
Me and probably a lot of people had this issue of the flashcard not being detected very well by the DS/3DS, maybe because it was slightly small, or too thin so u had to stick a piece of paper, etc.
I’m aware that the DS Pico’s team only makes the kernel and the interior so the ones you see on Aliexpress are just making a housing for them, therefor the shell may change depending on the seller.
I just wanted to know what’s your experience with this sort of thing.
I have an original DS and a 3DS I'm trying to set up the dspico for, and I'm struggling at figuring out how to set up a Linux subsystems for Windows, in order to get the programs running! I'm tempted to just set up a spare PC on Linux so I have a GUI to do this all on 😅
Is there any easy way to set up a dspico without all the long steps of blocksDS? Or do I just set up the Linux PC for all this?
Most games I want to play have anti-piracy protections not supported by nds-bootstrap, so I’m switching to an R4 kernel. Any help would be appreciated!
It seems the ez flash 3 in 1 and the ez flash omega are impossible to find. And only one eBay listing well over 200$…. Surely there’s another option? Can’t find anything on Ali. All help greatly appreciated.
I’m new to this, but I was gifted an r4 card and I’m trying to set it up to play ds and also GBA games if possibl. I can’t identify what one it is so that I can get the correct kernel for it. Also, I was reading commonly work on certain models of DS and I wasn't sure what ones this would work on?

I have an unmodded, stock 2011 3DS. I got my hands on a DSpico recently after my old R4 cartridge kicked the bucket. I purchased a fresh Lexar 32 GB microSD card (tested and verified, formatted in FAT32), and copied over the existing files from the microSD card that came with the DSpico. The version of the firmware preinstalled is unknown.
I loaded my microSD card with ROMs sourced from Vimm's, and everything was working fine with the exception of the DSpico freezing sometimes when I attempt to launch games. This was resolved by exiting to home menu and relaunching (may take a few tries).
Reading through some posts, consensus seemed to agree that updating the firmware would resolve the "freezing while launching" issues. I flashed ver. 1.1.4 from Ansem's website onto the DSpico, and replaced the SD files with the ones provided. Trying to launch Pokemon Platinum now always results in a "Failed to load arm9." error on a black screen.
Investigated existing threads and found one that said downgrading to firmware version 1.1.3 would fix the issue; so I reflashed the DSpico with the "DSpico + NTRBoot" file in Ansem's ver. 1.1.3. Failure to load persists. Also tried deleting, then downloading fresh ROMs (from Vimm's), still no success.
Anyone with more experience that can help me understand the root cause and how to resolve it? Thanks in advance!

Edit: I have also tried utilizing the DSpico WRFUxxed firmware patcher after sourcing a valid wrfu 0.60 file. Still getting the same error as in the title of this post
I am trying to transfer Pokemon from Gen 4 and 5 to home via a save file on a flashcart. Is there a way to move that save file from the flashcart to the SD card on my 3DS? I have another copy of the game on my SD card and when I copied the .sav file from my flashcart to the saves folder within the nds ROMs folder in the SD card copy it doesn’t boot up with the save file on it. It just shows NEW GAME.
When i try to load ds games on my flashcard it says loading than never loads so I tried to use ysmenu and I dont know how to know which ysmenu folder I am supposed to use cause when I try one it says cant open _dsmenu.dat can someone plz help
