Bosch WAN28293BY washing machine skips from 13 min to 4 min and leaves clothes soaking wet

Hey everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Bosch WAN28293BY washing machine and hoping someone here has run into this before.

During the spin cycle, the timer suddenly drops from around 13 minutes to 4 minutes, and the machine finishes without properly spinning the clothes. They come out really wet.

Sometimes the drum spins fine and reaches the 10-minute mark (even 8 minutes), and then suddenly drops to 4.

I took out the “motherboard” and cleaned it with 99% isopropyl alcohol — everything looks brand new.

I’ve had this washing machine for less than 2 years.

A few things I’ve noticed:

  • It doesn’t happen every time — sometimes it works fine
  • When the issue happens, it feels like the machine “gives up” on spinning properly

I’m trying to figure out what could be causing this. My guesses so far:

  • Unbalanced load detection issue — I tried removing most of the clothes, but the problem still happens. Sometimes it works fine with a nearly empty load
  • Possible tachometer sensor problem

Has anyone experienced something similar with Bosch machines?
Any tips on how to diagnose whether it’s the shocks, sensor, or control board?

Thanks in advance 🙏

Front Steps falling apart?

I feel like the title makes it seem more dramatic than it is. I apologize, but have no idea what these are, stones? Tiles?

Obviously I’m not super handy, but I feel like this should be a relatively easy fix?? Can I just glue it back? And if so? What do I buy? Or do I need a professional?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Window trim issue

Over time, probably because of my cats, this little piece of window trim has moved away from the window. I can't seem to push it back. How do I fix this? Is it okay to just fill this with caulk or wood filler or something? This is part of the trim when the window was installed. The rest of the trim appears to not have moved.

FIX: Patriot Lightning Fandelier Stuck in Demo Mode

I searched far too many places, and far too many results only indicated repeat pairing the remote. This wasn't the issue. When turned on, the fan would cycle the lights in different brightness and colors, but not respond to anything from the remote. Nowhere could I find how to get it out of this apparent Demo Mode.

A quick call to tech support (which unfortunately was closed when we replaced our old fan with this new unit) and we got things back to good. Hopefully this post can save others from this problem.

TLDR FIX: Turn on the fan. On the remote, press and hold the "K" button for three seconds. The lights should blink twice, and the fan will return to normal mode.

The model we have (Patriot Lima 20) appears to also be sold as: Vaxcel Lighting Everette, OUKANING, and possibly others.

Any help or tips appreciated.

Headphone top weakened

There's been a weakened spot in the headphone's headband, for some reason. It hasn't broken off yet, but wearing it is now an issue because it's become loose and doesn't stand on the head. I'm able to roughly move it around at the pivoted point of it breaking, which shouldn't happen because earlier it was stiff as a headband.

Backpack bottleholder ripping

I have this backpack that I use every day, and the bottle holder has started to rip. Any suggestions for something I could do to either prevent it from getting worse, or to fix it fully? The outer material of the bag is a thick waterproof material, so I don't see a way to sew a new one on.

Remove the THIRD flow limiter on this shower head?

Just bought a new shower head. I want to remove the flow limiters and have a proper shower. Got the first one out easy enough as that middle light blue bit pushes in and I got a flathead under it and pulled it out.

Then there was an identical one beneath that. Got that out too.

Now there’s something different. Looks like there’s this white cross and an o-ring? But that white cross isn’t moving pretty easily. Am I gonna have a hard time removing that?

How to unscrew this lid?

The lid on this cup is stuck. The lid itself is made of two pieces - the outer part (which you can see in photo 1) is metal. But this is really just a metal cap over an internal black plastic piece (visible at the edge where the cup and cap meet in photo two) that has the screw part on it.

They used to move as one, but whatever tab/connector inside caused the plastic ring inside to spin when you twisted the lid has worn down. So when you go to spin the lid, the metal part moves but the plastic part doesn’t. So the cap is stuck on.

Obviously the cup is old and we could just get something else to replace it. But it’s a cherished cup (for various reasons) so we would like to get it to work again.

Once it’s off, I think I can glue it well enough to work again for a while, though suggestions here are appreciated.

Urgent: 100% Pixel Match needed for Segoe Print in Word - Character Drift/Spacing issues!

I have 48 hours to perfectly replicate an image of text. I am at 99% match but cannot get the final 1% because individual characters are drifting.

My Specs:

Font: Segoe Print (12pt, Bold, Black)

Character Spacing: Scale 90%, Expanded 0.1 pt.

Paragraph: Justified, Line Spacing 'Exactly' 19 pt.

Page: 12" x 15" Custom Size.

The Problem:

Even with 'Smart Justification' and Kerning turned on, specific letter pairs (e, a, i, o, t) are taking up different pixel widths than the original image. By the end of each line, the text is off by a few pixels.

Question:

Is there a way to force Word to use a different Justification engine (like the WordPerfect 6.x legacy setting) or a way to perform 'Micro-Justification' on word-spacing without breaking the rest of the layout?
