Bosch WAN28293BY washing machine skips from 13 min to 4 min and leaves clothes soaking wet
Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my Bosch WAN28293BY washing machine and hoping someone here has run into this before.
During the spin cycle, the timer suddenly drops from around 13 minutes to 4 minutes, and the machine finishes without properly spinning the clothes. They come out really wet.
Sometimes the drum spins fine and reaches the 10-minute mark (even 8 minutes), and then suddenly drops to 4.
I took out the “motherboard” and cleaned it with 99% isopropyl alcohol — everything looks brand new.
I’ve had this washing machine for less than 2 years.
A few things I’ve noticed:
- It doesn’t happen every time — sometimes it works fine
- When the issue happens, it feels like the machine “gives up” on spinning properly
I’m trying to figure out what could be causing this. My guesses so far:
- Unbalanced load detection issue — I tried removing most of the clothes, but the problem still happens. Sometimes it works fine with a nearly empty load
- Possible tachometer sensor problem
Has anyone experienced something similar with Bosch machines?
Any tips on how to diagnose whether it’s the shocks, sensor, or control board?
