Deathwatch Kompanie (c&c welcome)

Hallo und einen guten Tag euch allen.

Hier ein paar Bilder meiner inzwischen zwei Watch Kompanien. Was als „oh da will ich einfach einen coolen Trupp haben“ ist über die letzten zwei, drei Jahre meine absolute Lieblings Armee geworden.

Gern würde ich eure Meinung dazu lesen.

In diesem Sinn, für die lange Wacht.

Kitbashed Watch Master - Base

Hi all, recently got the Kill Team and wanted to make a Watch Master to go with them. I'm just wondering about the base size. WM has a 32mm base, regular space marine characters are often on a 40mm base.

Does anyone know whether or not there's a base size change coming for these?

Thanks!

Second Mini Ever! Jump Pack Raven Guard

Second mini. First time not following the instructions precisely. Actually used pieces from 2 different guys in the same box plus a couple pieces from the chapter upgrade pack.Wanted to keep posting as a journal with painting thoughts and experiences. Just use it to see how my minis, painting, and skill changes along the way. Plus it seemed like people really liked the first one. Can already tell I'm faster cause this one took so much less time than the first.

First mini:

Deathwatch jump pack intercessor from Raven Guard's 10th company with bolt pistol and power blade. Had to make sure he had a beaky helmet and gave him the power sword since a stealthy scout guy like him wouldn't use a loud chainsword.

Great-All of the tiny details. Actually painted and attached the little trinkets this time. Also proud of how it looks like they're flapping in the wind.

Things to work on-Tried to do/follow 3 different "Super EZ Beginner Power Sword Paint Jobs!" and all of them came out pretty bad. I know a major part of the issue was not blending enough and not having a brush small and sharp enough. So now it looks like he's using a $30 camo painted mall machete and I both hate and like it.

Other thoughts-Focused less on the highlighting and layering one thing like the cape from last time and more on the little details.

Only the jump pack was assembled before painting. Everything else was painted separately. It made painting super easy but also made gluing everything, especially the tiny trinkets, a total nightmare. Will probably want it a bit more assembled from now on, especially the difficult things that would hold better with plastic glue.

The more dynamic pose was fun, but I had to cover the whole helmet and prime the neck at the very end cause you could see plastic gray from him looking up rather than forward.

Part of the issue with the sword is the small number of paints I have right now. It feels like every other video will require half a dozen colors I don't have yet. I don't actually mind the $7 price on their paints. It at least seems reasonable, especially compared to the price of their minis. But it's gonna take a while before I have all the common and uncommon colors.

Also, iron hands steel painted sword covered with tesseract glow makes an interesting snot sword that would probably look great on a plague marine.

Didn't actually realize chapters often had specific unique chapter pauldrons that designated things like what company you're in. Only realized when I looked up the Raven Guard to make sure I did it accurately. The 10th company red trim is a nice extra bit of color.

So that's my second done! Any constructive criticism or critiques welcome. Excited to start the next one. It's my first specialty unit from a non first founding legion/chapter! No idea if it would actually be legal to play, but it's lore accurate and that's all I care about! Also it will be my first time using resin and unofficial pieces.

No, but seriously, the tiny bits were ridiculous, especially the purity seal, box trinket, and the skull/feather. Even now they look like they'll fall off if I stare at them too hard. How do people put them on so easily?

P.S.-Do you prefer to use company/squad specific chapter pauldrons when you can or do you like all of your Deathwatch to have their chapter's standard pauldron?

Deathwatch (Support)

Deathwatch (Support)

When the Watch Fortress asks for Titan support and the same Warhound always answers the call.

Don’t know if it’s lore accurate, I’m just assuming that if the watch asked for Titan support they would get it the same as any other chapter would.

This particular Warhound (in my head) has taken to displaying the Inquisition insignia on its leg armour, the armigers supporting the Titan are also brandishing similar armour plates.

This is an ongoing project of mine and my fascinations with Titans and my love of the Deathwatch.

Deathwatch Agent

Can’t find any official model for a deathwatch agent, does anybody have any good examples of proxies? Trying to get some ideas. Thanks
