Took me an year to find out what really works for my hair and then some more on how to get it cut. Lost a bit of weight in between so photos might look different lol.

This is what currently works for me

Routine

  • Hair type - 3A low porosity hair
  • Wash once every two weeks with Pantene lively clean shampoo for clarifying.
  • every 2 days co wash hair with Re'equil conditioner (orange one) detangle hair.
  • After co-wash apply Manetain Curl Cream curly cream and brush with tangle teezer brush.
  • scrunch in with Fix my curls flaxseed gel
  • dry hair with a diffuser
  • break gel cast with argan oil( generic brand)
  1. Had to switch to desi products since I had to use more products when hair keeps getting longer and had to wash it more frequently coz of gym, and it was breaking the bank.
  2. Moved to Bangalore for the job and found out that they use Hard water on my room, and my friend said it might hurt hair,so not sure what will happen :l

(2B-2C, medium porosity) Best wash day in a while!

So I've been trying to embrace my natural hair more and I think I'm doing a good job finally. My fried up hair is curling a lot more, even the ones I thought were in curl shock. I don 't like how it looks when my hair is super tight because it completely takes out the length with the shrinkage. So I like how stretched out it is rn. Also I would want a bit more volume, because I have low density hair, so any suggestions for that would be nice. Anyways, hope ya'll like it! All suggestions on how to improve it is appreciated!

Routine:

Head and Shoulders Shampoo,

Moxxie leave in conditioner,

Streax Heat Protection,

Fix my Curls Flaxseed Gelly,

then diffuse on low heat.

Hair type- (2c/3a)

As u can see in the picture how flat my roots are as compared to the ends. I have low porosity hair so my hair tends to weigh down easily. Is it because of that? Or is it because I air dry my hair? Do lmk what should I do to have my curls curl from the roots. And what else can I do to elevate my curls.

The Nyle one especially is so slept on lmao, i get it from the csd canteen for so cheap and it’s so good, hair feels so nourished and light afterwards. Would 10/10 recommend.

And this bare anatomy one too, i know it’s anti dandruff but the way my hair feels after this is nice even though i do not have dandruff. Idk about it’s other shampoos though, only this one suited my hair.

I’ve been trying to go product free this summer and here’s my attempt at it. Sooo, I did stick to the same products as before but went in with a little lesser curl butter and styled my hair upside down and used some clips for root volume. I think styling upside down and flipping my hair over upright caused more frizz than normal. Not sure what went wrong there 💀

Routine:

Shampoo, conditioner- dove daily shine range

Curl butter- fix my curls

(Btw before I begin yes the frizz is crazy and I have hard water and currently in the process of getting a filter)

Like about 2-3 years ago I had straight hair I swear like pin straight hair. I have no clue what happened and how. I am not even sure if it’s wavy or curly. My cousin told me I may lie in between 1C or something.

This is my hair air dried fresh out of the shower. Is it possible for your hair to get wavier as you grow older? I have no clue how to manage this and make it look less frizzy. I have heard about “fix my curls” products a lot, are they any good? Please suggest an affordable routine I can follow.

kinda not satisfied w my curls. can they look better?

I use a shampoo, a mask and a curl cream. Don't really have a diffuser atm.

Hair Type- 3A (I guess?)

Can we actually just stop brushing curly hair?

I know that brushing curly hair is not recommended. But can we actually go on days without brushing at all? If I'm waking up in the morning and I've to go somewhere ofc I'll have to brush right? And I feel like applying too much products is more destructive for the health of hair.

Help your fellow curly hair girlie out🥹

How come this curl defining cream is so cheap?

I discovered this curl defining cream today on Flipkart it's only 205 for 250 ml i guess ..

If anyone has used kindly help me with recs n reviews

As i have 2c 3a type curly hair

Low porosity n shoulder length coiled

I'D REALLY LIKE TO GIVE IT A TRY

the only thing is that it contains silicones top that can irritate the scalp if continuously applied n cause buildup but frequently scalp rinsing with a good shampoo will help

Guys i have a question.

Whenever i apply my curl gel it sets my hair into curly fashion but then the hair becomes kinda hard. Like they look good in photos and person but are not the best to touch and play with. Like they become so rigid last time my bf called them “shivji ki jataye”😭😭

And when i apply only curl conditioner and leave in conditioner my hair are v smooth and wavy and i love them.

For reference i use Love beauty and planet’s curl range.and my hair type: normal porosity, 2B

So is it the same for you all? That you have to make a choice whether you want your hair to be curly or if you want them to be smooth?

I have naturally curly, very frizzy hair and I’m trying to achieve a smoother European flow hairstyle. I’m currently using Kera FM 10% topical solution (a minoxidil + finasteride combination) for diffuse thinning. For styling, I use Fix My Curls products. I also have dandruff, so I use Selsun 2.5% shampoo. However, both the minoxidil solution and the shampoo tend to make my hair extremely dry and frizzy.

What else can I do to improve my hair texture, reduce frizz, and style it in a way that helps me achieve that flow hairstyle?

I use manetain curl cream ; taft mousse; manetain hard hold gel. The definition is pretty good. I feel pretty satisfied with the hair. But it's sooo freaking hot, i end up tying my hair in a bun or low ponytail and so bye bye curl definition. Can't sleep in the bonnet at any cost. My kid gets scared, lol and the headache isn't worth.

Contemplating quitting CGM! Too much effort for results that don't last even a day!

Where to even start? Figuring out products, trying different routines for hours, diffusing, then maintaining them for days only to refresh again and again, protecting them at night. So many products and routines it’s so confusing. Curls don’t even look same all the time. Curly hair creators promoting so many products and lengthy routines as if we don’t have a life outside of it. And people like me who have back and neck pain cannot bend over at a stretch to style and diffuse.

The effort, money and time that goes into it is insane! I’ve stopped doing anything to my hair since last few weeks simply because i don’t have the energy. I fear my hair also started thinning because of all the styling on wet hair. Atp I should just get my har straightened 😭😭

Hair Type - [3A - Low Porosity and Protein-sensitive hair] Hair Conditioner Recommendations.

I have low porosity hair with protein sensitivity, and I avoid using hair products that have protein. I’ve been following CG for close to a decade now.

In recent years, my hair hasn't been working well because it had a lot of buildup, and it took me a long time to understand my hair’s needs. It became protein-sensitive, and the scalp was itchy and produced more oil because of sulphate-free products.

I got to know about the proper clarifying shampoos recommended by the dermatologist as I was struggling with the sulphate-free clarifying shampoos (it wasn’t lathering or cleaning my scalp at all).

I use Ketafung-CT once a week followed by Camille Rose conditioning custard. Or Giovanni tea tree shampoo followed by Camille Rose. I occasionally use Herbal Essences Argan Oil Conditioner and it does not have a great slip but works okay.

I also use the Aveda hair mask (Green one) and the result is good, but I find the masks are thick and do not have great slip.

My problem - my hair gets tangled after the shampoo, and it’s extremely hard to detangle it with the conditioner. It works okay with the Camille rose, but I have a lot of shedding in the process. Mask is another story.

I live next to the beach with high humidity (like 1 km from the beach). The water is not that great either. I find that the shedding is comparatively less at my parents’ home as the water is much better there. The scalp does not clean well at my home and detangling gets hard, hair turns frizzy, and sheds crazily.

Can someone help me with the right detangling conditioner? I can live with the frizz and I’m past the seven-step process of shampoo, conditioner, leave-in, cream, gel, etc., I’ve lived a better life with those steps and I’m getting into a new era of simple hair routine with just a shampoo, conditioner, and an occasional mask or a mousse day.

Manetain mulberry silk is not original

Hair type- Wavy (2c), High porosity wavy
(Used chatgpt since am sleepy but had to leave the review sorry 😢 )

I recently bought mulberry silk pillowcases + bonnets from both Hair Love India and Manetain and decided to do the burn test myself 👀🔥

Hair Love India actually included a separate sample fabric piece for testing along with a Silk Mark certificate, which already felt reassuring tbh. I did the burn test and it behaved EXACTLY like real silk should:

✨ smelled like burnt hair
✨ turned into black brittle ash
✨ ash crumbled easily

But with Manetain… I had to literally cut a tiny piece from the pillow cover itself because there was no sample provided 😭 And the result was completely different:

❌ fabric curled/melted
❌ plasticky chemical smell
❌ no soft ash left behind

I have attached pictures for reference

There was also a VERY obvious difference in how the fabric felt. Hair Love India felt softer, richer, cooler and genuinely premium 🤍 The Manetain one felt much more synthetic in comparison even before the burn test.

For anyone wondering why the burn test works — real silk is a natural protein fiber (similar to hair), so when it burns it smells like burnt hair and turns to ash. Polyester/synthetic fabrics are basically plastic polymers, so they melt and smell chemical/plasticky instead.

This is the reference video I used for the test:
https://youtube.com/shorts/SM3H3klsHJI?si=IvqyR2uNx2J3RBZD

Honestly kinda disappointed because I ordered 2 pillow covers + hair bonnets from Manetain 🥲 while I only ordered 1 pillow cover + bonnet from Hair Love India initially.

After testing both, the quality difference felt SUPER clear to me. If you genuinely want real premium mulberry silk, Hair Love India definitely seems like the better choice from my experience 💯
