Just got my MAE offer, looking to connect with people who are both waiting for their offers and have already gotten it!
Note: Applied 6th oct (1st Pref), no interview, no departmental email, received offer 8th May
Due to some circumstances I am applying in may.
What are my chances of getting a scholarship at this point?
title
international student
late round applicant
39 IB score
11 A*s olevels
1530 Sat
good extra curriculars
what are my admission + scholarship chances
I’ve currently accepted two offers from CUHK and CityU. CityU gives me a 100% scholarship while CUHK gives me 50% scholarship. Both are conditional to 3 A* A-Levels. Currently, I’m waiting for my exams to be over to assess how likely I am to be able to fulfill this condition.
If I doubt my chances at getting 3A* I’ll pick CityU and hope for a slight reduction in scholarship rather than no scholarship at CUHK.
My question is - how late can I hold these offers for? When do I actually need to make a firm decision?
Applied on 8 Jan for the following majors: 1) Econ (DD with Tsinghua) 2) GLEF 3) QFin. Radio Silence since then. I got into HKU EcoFin on 16 April already despite applying 2 weeks later, but not a single word from CUHK. No interview. Nothing. For HKU, I atleast had an aptitude test
Atp I am starting to believe that I am just rejected.
Btw FYI I am from Bangladesh National Curriculum. SAT 1520. 10th Boards 95.3%. 12th Boards 93.77%
Has anyone received an offer from BME yet? If so, When was your interview? How long did you wait for the decision? What were your stats?
I applied in the Regular Round and attended my interview in mid-February, but I haven't heard anything since.
Hi, I’m considering applying to Chinese University of Hong Kong for Diplomacy & International Studies and wanted some honest advice.
My profile:
• CBSE: 94% overall
• 98 in Geography & Economics and History
• No significant extracurriculars
• TOEFL: 5
Given this, is a full scholarship even realistic, or should I adjust my expectations?
What are the usual questions asked in a morningside interview
Will there still be any offers released now ?
Applied for qfrm/qfin in regular round (jan 8) and initially got an interview in late feb, but then it turned out to be a system error??? i had already prepared for it and they sent me another follow up email saying it was a mistake..crazy. Haven’t heard back ever since and it’s making me so stressed rn. Why are they doing this i feel so worthless and incapable. No interview, no updates no nothing. I’ve only gotten acceptances at HKUST and PolyU so far, but nothing else from HKU, CUHK, and CityU. Is this just a rejection?
I got an offer from CUHK for Electronic Engineering with scholarship for 38+ IB points, full ride 40 and above. For HKUST I already accepted an offer in ECE but the full ride scholarship conditions are way more difficult. My IB exams have already started and i dont think i can make the conditions for a good scholarship at hkust because i keep getting anxiety attacks during the tests. The offer conditions for both are 34, so it kind of feels pointless to keep cuhk as a backup.. im not sure whether i should accept this offer or not. Does anyone have any advice? Would it be better to study at CUHK with a scholarship than at hkust with no scholarship? Is there a difference in employability opportunities when studying at cuhk? I know there are less international students at CUHK, but how is the network there?
Hey I am from delhi how many of you guys from India have got your offer let's connect will talk and plan together.....
Feel free to dm me or reply here ..
🙏✨
I just got an offer of Bachelor of science at CUHK and I want to hear some experiences, What are the course/job opportunities and how are the facilities at CUHK for science?
I also got a conditional scholarship, and I think I can get it
I really think it is a good opportunity but I am not sure yet, does it worth it going?
I'm an international students and looking for 4 years guaranteed accomodation. I heard that Morningside is the best for international students as most of the time they use english and also there are lots of other international students.
But I want to make sure first which one gonna be the best for me. Besides I do also consider the sports facilities, students union (i'm quite extroverts and i do love organizations), cleanliness.
And, how about for the GE and FYP in each college? I'm interested in doing social activities (especially with the focus in environment, entrepreneurial, education). Btw, I'm going to be an IBBA student, so I do love business so much.
Hi so under the visa tab in the CUHK undergraduate application portal, it says my Visa application submission deadline is the 06-May-2026 23:59 HKT (tomorrow)
This seems really early, and I haven't started the process at all, and I'm still sitting for my IB exams
Do I really need to complete the application by tomorrow?
How much is considered a pass for modules? I’m currently on exchange (actually finishing exchange) and just finished one of my finals. I’m feeling pretty anxious because the paper felt rough, and now I’m overthinking whether I might fail the module.
I just want to know general experiences, for exchange students and students studying here, how common is it to actually fail a module if you attended classes, submitted most/all assignments, and attempted the final? My final exam paper might actually be 20/100, and the weightage of it is pretty high.
Do universities usually grade exchange students the same way as local students, or is there sometimes moderation/leniency as long as you made a reasonable attempt? I know this probably depends on the university and course, but I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have been on exchange or know how this usually works.
Basically: is failing actually common, or does it just feel likely right after a bad exam?
