What's the one thing about Boulder as a college town that you didn't fully appreciate until you almost left?

I feel like when you're here every day you kind of take it for granted - the mountains, the trails, the Pearl Street vibe, all of it just becomes background noise after a while. But then you go home for break or visit a friend at another school and it hits you. What's something about living and going to school in Boulder that you stopped noticing until you stepped away and realized most college towns don't have it?

I'm in! Any advices for grad housing?

Today I finally accepted an offer from Boulder, and now I'm looking for a housing option!

I would like to live alone but housing options in Boulder seems too expensive for me; about 27k stipend (before tax) to live.

I think I should look for nearby places, but I'm not sure where I should go. May I ask for some recommendations please?

Thank you!

trans at Boulder in the big 26... coming from portland

Like 70 30 on going to boulder next fall and transgender. Im shooting for EE right now but thinking about switching to ECE. I want to meet other trans people but walking around, it feels like there really are not that many. In high school there have been a lot due to living in Portland where being transgender is not uncommon. I hear it's an "accepting" area which I think is very good but i mostly wanna make friends who are similar to me... yk.. Which wasn't a problem before, so if there aren't that many I'll really feel isolated.

Seeking advice from persons who have been in this situation before or know something about this? Pls

Apartments (darley/stearns) vs. dorms (will vill n/onizuka)

Hey guys I’m going to join cu as a first year in the fall. I went to the admitted students day and was able to tour the dorms in will vill. I thought onizuka was great but the dorms were kinda small in my opinion. I wasn’t able to tour any of the apartments in darley or stearns but based off the pictures online they are huge with private mirror/closet/bath/sink etc. They seem really nice so why do people advise to stay away from these buildings? I wanted to know if they might be better options than the dorms..

Hiring CU student, $22-$25/hr 10-15hr/week

About us

We are a direct to consumer company that ships replacement orthodontic retainers directly to consumers. Customers order a kit, take their own impressions at home, mail them back, and we send them a new retainer — for a fraction of what an orthodontist charges. It’s a real product solving a real problem for a big audience, and we’re getting ready to put it in front of people.

The role

We’re looking for a marketing generalist to help drive our phase of growth. You’ll own two areas:

• Organic content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Videos & Shorts)

• Paid media (Meta, Google, Reddit, TikTok Ads)

We’d rather invest in the right person and train the gaps than hire someone with a perfect resume and no hustle.

What you’ll do

• Pitch, shoot, edit, and post 2–5 short-form videos daily

• Manage comments, DMs, and community engagement

• Build and run paid ad campaigns (Meta, Google, Reddit, TikTok)

• Write ad copy, manage creative, and set up audiences

• Track performance and optimize campaigns

• Scale what works, kill what doesn’t, report weekly

• Support email/SMS, landing pages, and influencer outreach as needed

What we’re looking for

Content (core skill set)

• Strong instincts for short-form video

• Examples of content you’ve created (any context)

• Comfortable shooting/editing on phone

• Good on-camera presence OR can direct talent

• Strong engagement instincts

Paid media (baseline + willingness to learn)

• Some exposure to ads (even basic/academic/personal projects)

• Comfortable with numbers and dashboards

• Ability to write solid ad copy

Nice to have (not required)

• Experience with Meta, Google, Reddit, or TikTok Ads

• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Shopify, etc.

• Understanding of ROAS, CAC, CPC, CTR

• Experience with pixels, audiences, A/B testing

Personal qualities

• Curious, self-directed, fast-moving

• Excited about working in the orthodontic/dental space

Schedule & location

• Start: End of May 2026

• Hours: 10–15/week (flexible)

• Location: Hybrid — must be local to Boulder County for shoots

• Weekly team meetings required; some in person shoots and meetups

Compensation & perks

• $22–25/hour (DOE)

• Performance bonuses (based on content views)

• Viral bonuses for high-performing content

• Real ad budget to manage (not a sandbox)

• Creative ownership across channels

Additional perks:

• Up to $300 reimbursement for online marketing courses/books

• Coffee & food provided on shoot days

• Flexible schedule

• Professional development support
