Traveling to Springfield soon and wanting Quad City style pizza
Are there any pizza places that offer Quad City style pizzas around Springfield? Malt dough with a sweeter sauce and cut into strips. Thank you!

Looking for Library Card
Super long shot here, but I am a Terre Haute resident looking for anyone with a Paris or Effingham public library card that would be willing to let me use the numbers on it for a program called Mango Languages. It’s free with those libraries and not Vigo county unfortunately :’) Trying to learn Spanish to help out at my job and Duolingo is the worst.
Obvi I would get a card with those libraries if I could, but I don’t believe I can as a non-resident.
Just as the title says! Trying to find some new bars to hangout at!

Dear Illinois Attorney General,
Re: Detweiller Playground Trust — Case No. 2025-PR-268, Tenth Judicial Circuit Court
We respectfully request three immediate actions from your office regarding the Detweiller Playground Trust matter:
Advise the Detweiller Playground Trust that the property should not yet be sold or transferred while the Illinois Attorney General reviews newly discovered information.
Deny or oppose any proposed sale of charitable trust property to O’Brien Steel (https://www.obriensteel.com/?utm\_source=chatgpt.com) until that review is complete.
File or support a petition to reopen the court decision in Case No. 2025-PR-268 based on significant new information that was not publicly known or fully considered at the time of approval.
We believe these actions are necessary because serious concerns have emerged involving:
• Potential conflicts of interest involving trustees connected to parties that may financially benefit from the proposed transaction
• Possible fiduciary failures and violations of donor intent tied to preservation of public recreation and river access
• Lack of meaningful notification to affected neighbors, community organizations, and interested parties
• Alleged omissions or inaccuracies presented during the approval process
• Longstanding concerns regarding stewardship of charitable trust assets intended for the people of Peoria
• Concerns that inadequate maintenance, deterioration, or undervaluation of the property may have been used to justify removal of donor restrictions and conversion to industrial use
• Possible breach of fiduciary duty through failure to adequately maintain, preserve, and protect charitable trust assets for their intended public purpose
Of particular concern, FOIA-obtained communications appear to show that even the Assistant Attorney General questioned how aspects of the proposal would satisfy or preserve “donor intent” during communications with the petitioner’s attorney. This raises serious questions about whether the final approval fully addressed those concerns or whether all relevant information was adequately considered before restrictions were removed.
This property was gifted in trust for the benefit of the people of Peoria and future generations. Many residents believe the community was excluded from a process that will permanently impact historic riverfront access, recreation, and charitable trust land.
Concerned residents are in the process of organizing and compiling documentation, FOIA materials, historical records, and public concerns, and are prepared to bring this information to Chicago for further discussion and review with the Attorney General’s office.
Accordingly, we again respectfully request that the Attorney General:
• Prevent or delay any sale or transfer of trust property pending review
• Oppose or deny the proposed sale to O’Brien Steel at this time
• Seek reopening or reconsideration of the court decision based on newly discovered information and public-interest concerns
Thank you for your time, attention, and continued responsibility in protecting charitable trusts and donor intent for the people of Illinois.
Sincerely,
[Name]
[City]

Looking at Illinois for a new place to live. Is it cheaper because pay is less? Or what else is going on
Hey guys, I'm a tourist from Evansville. I'm from Southern Indiana, and I have this folksy friendly energy. I love to socialize, but I don't like to bother people. On top of that, I'm 41 years old, but I love the energy of college kids and younger people. I often go to bars.
I absolutely hate snobbery and any kind of uptightness. I love dive bars, but I like college Hangouts too when they aren't two of their own ass. I'm coming to a concert in August in Bloomington. Where should I hang out. I have to show up a day early, because I'm coming in via train. I would love a bar to go to either in normal or Bloomington, but I don't want to deal with something too uptight where there's a dress code and bottle service, but I also don't want to bother people. Also, something you probably don't deal with in this area, even though I love my dive bars, a lot of them are filled with dinosaurs like me. I'm cool with that, but since I'll be staying in downtown normal, what's closer. It would be nice to check into my Airbnb and just walk somewhere., but of course, if I can't, that's cool too. What's everyone's opinion on all of the local social spots, including the dives and places you normally wouldn't go to. I'm not afraid of those. It's just interesting to know how the local crowd view the place is available.

My wife is the biggest fan of Dunkin' Donuts (DD) kolaches specifically. Unfortunately, they either don’t sell kolaches in Illinois at all, or they're absent in any of the cities we visit. This is a deeply unfortunate outcome since we've been unable to find them anywhere.
I would travel the world for her, but now, more than ever, it's important I stay by her side, as she’s been diagnosed recently with cancer. This heartbreaking news means our travel plans are paused until her health improves, and that includes our quest for her favorite DD kolaches. Please join in and sign the petition so we can get her some kolaches!
Hi. I’m using a fresh, more professional account rather than my personal account, for obvious reasons. I’m looking for a job in Effingham or Mattoon or nearby cities. I currently live in Peoria but am wanting to move to Effingham to be with my girlfriend. I know I’m dealing with a much smaller area than where I’m at now so I figured I’m probably better served reaching out to people rather than purely relying on job boards.
I have many years of retail experience including department management and ordering experience. I also have many years of pharmacy technician experience as well as a bachelors degree in public health.
I am looking for something ideally second shift-ish, anywhere between 10 am and 9 pm. My girlfriend works second shift so I hope to find something close-ish to her hours. I need something that pays at least $18 an hour to really be able to make ends meet. I’m not really cut out for food service jobs but beyond that I’m willing to consider any type of full time work that offers health insurance.
Even if I don’t have experience in it, if a place is willing to train someone who is a quick learner, has fantastic attendance and proactively looks for stuff to do rather than waits to be told what to do once he’s caught up on work, I’d love to apply and see if I’m a good fit. If anyone either is hiring or knows of a place please let me know either via reply or DM me. Thanks for reading this.
I'm trying to get to Gurnee this weekend. Taking a car down there. It doesn't have plates. I habe some WI plates I could put on it but they dont match the car and they are expired. What are the chances I get caught going through the tollroads? I have no problem paying the tolls and plan on it, just wondering if I'll get stopped on my way?
Currently working In Decatur, Illinois and there’s absolutely nothing to do here. Looking for people to golf with really. I’m chill.
I want to bring your attention to a long-running wrongful conviction case out of our county that many still don’t know about: Jamie Snow.
Jamie Snow was convicted in 2001 for a 1991 Bloomington gas station murder. The conviction was largely based on eyewitness testimony and jailhouse informants, with no physical or forensic evidence tying him to the crime. Over the years, several witnesses have recanted and advocacy groups like the Exoneration Project and Investigating Innocence have raised serious concerns about how the case was investigated and prosecuted.
Despite decades of maintaining his innocence and pursuing appears, Jamie remains incarcerated in Stateville Prison, even after recent denials by higher courts to review new evidence or allow additional testing. His case is frequently cited by legal scholars and innocence organizations as an example of systemic problems that lead to wrongful convictions- unreliable informants, weak defense representation, and barriers to post-conviction review.
This matters locally because wrongful convictions don’t just impact one family - they reflect issues in our justice system that could impact anyone. Illinois has one of the highest number of documented wrongful convictions in the country!
We as a community can do things to help.
Learn and share about Jamie’s case- I’ll add links in comments to videos, podcasts, articles, and website (cause I’m posting from mobile).
Whether or not you’ve followed wrongful conviction cases before, this is one that deserves continued public attention. Even just reading and discussing it helps keep pressure on a system that too often moves on while innocent people don’t get the chance to.
Thanks for taking the time to read. If anyone has attended local events, knows additional ways to help, or has information about the case, please share in the comments.
Hello guys, I’m staying in the Decatur Illinois area for work and was wondering if there are any teachers in the area that teach guitar.
