Hi everyone! Now that the weather is finally changing, I’m looking for recommendations for scenic cafes or restaurants with great food in the KWC area. I’d love to find places with a view..ideally near a river or lake, but I’m also looking for spots surrounded by nature, parks, or greenery. Basically, if it has a great outdoorsy vibe and good food, I want to hear about it! Thanks in advance!
Im coming for a visit and was planning on trying the Black Shop for Brunch but they’re doing Reno’s .
Is there any other places that do brunch like that in Cambridge, Kitchener or even Waterloo ? I’ve tried the Cambridge Mill already. I’m interested in the small plates style brunch that can be shared in a group.
Thanks in advance

If none of these locations work for you, and you'd like to organize at a different location.. shoot me a DM and I can hook you up with the main lady organizing and updating the list signage! Hope to see some of you out there! We need to be in the streets, in insane numbers, for everything - housing, healthcare, education, cost of living, EVERYTHING.. so, let's get out there and start making some gods damned noise! Doug Ford needs to go!
L.A. Frank's Was robbed last night and not the usual smash and grab type. This looks like it was organized.
So if you saw anything last night (Saturday May 2nd), please reach out to the police.
And if you have the means, head on down to support them by buying an ice cream or a hot dog. They've only been open since last Monday and this has to be a tough blow this early in the season.
Wild that no one from the city or from UofW caught this typo 😂 all the rest of the new signs have it spelt properly too
Was this useful?
If it didn't create some sort of urgency, will it the next time if its actually a tornado.
I dunno, these should be issued lightly and in this current year im sure there is much better ways to issue them so Cambridge isnt getting a tornado warning from a tornado in Woodstock.
Hi, I'm getting married in October of this year and I'm trying to find a venue that can hold up to 200 people. I have an outside catering company so I would need a place with a kitchen. Thanks in advance! It can be Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo, or Guelph.
To use Grand River Transit buses and the ION light-rail (owned and operated by the Region of Waterloo government), the only ways to pay your fare currently are buying and loading money onto an "EasyGO" card (which sometimes takes a few days to process if loading online), downloading a mobile app and purchasing tickets on it, or going to an ION station and using debit, credit, or cash to purchase a ticket.
There is no justification I can think of at this day in age in 2026 in a high-tech community in Waterloo Region, to not have machines on GRT buses and ION station platforms allowing for debit and credit card tapping to pay, other than for government monitoring and control of the transit system and to continue to give citizens the perception it is a "public service" for the poor/lower class rather than a responsible, quality, healthy, and efficient option for traveling around Waterloo Region for everyone regardless of economic or social status (or rather framing it as this so less resources have to be put into it to keep promoting the car-oriented culture here).
The technology is readily available and has been implemented very effectively in many other jurisdictions in Ontario and Canada. The whole TTC network in Toronto accepts debit cards and credit cards as well as the TransLink network in the Greater Vancouver Area in B.C., and GO Transit now accepts Interac debit card tapping on PRESTO machines and on buses across Ontario. All 3 of these transit networks allow for boarding of buses and trains at all doors and have payment machines installed at both the front and back doors of buses which makes life easier for everyone.
Too many times when getting on a Grand River Transit bus in Waterloo Region, people who are just learning about taking public transit, or are from other cities in Ontario or elsewhere, are turned away from using the bus, or hold up the bus delaying the route for minutes because GRT drivers won't let them on if they don't understand Waterloo Region's unique and strict system for fare payment. This creates additional and unnecessary stress for drivers and everyone on board as well.
It would be one thing if this happened in a place where buses run every 5 minutes, but most bus routes here in Waterloo Region run every half an hour. That is a huge inconvenience and could cause serious issues if a person is trying to get somewhere important. You could put the blame on the individual for not researching the fare payment when they have to go somewhere important, but whether Grand River Transit is a "public service" or a business, it is best for everyone if the customers are treated well and are able to get to where they need to go conveniently and without unnecessarily hassle.
There's no good excuse for the Region of Waterloo and Grand River Transit not to add payment machines that accept debit and credit because they are not hard or expensive to purchase and install. Stop punishing and trying to get as much data and money out of people using the most resource efficient and healthiest form of transportation: public transit systems.
GRT EasyGO cards and University/College student cards can still be used in addition for monthly passes or discounted-rate passes for eligible groups (although switching completely to the PRESTO system would also be beneficial to riders in Waterloo Region I believe).
Sign this petition to tell the people in charge to add debit and credit cards as payment options as soon as possible to Grand River Transit buses at all doors of the vehicles and at ION stations.

Hi All - new user in the Hespeler area here. If there are any other folks collecting these that may be willing to trade, the ones here are my doubles - I'm looking to track down a few specific ones, and I'd be happy to connect and try to figure something out.
Of the 64, in order to make 2 complete sets, I just need #s 38, 48, 55, and then two 62's.
You can take as many of these as you want if you have the ones I'm looking for in doubles yourselves! (Also, if you happen to have picked up two of the albums and they're still unused, I will happily buy them both from you as well).
Message me or reply here and let me know!
The 1st pic is looking towards The east and the others north and west respectively no severe thunderstorm warning and thankfully no tornado warning like London and Ingersoll heard crackling thunder in Cambridge yesterday no major damage or flooding
Looking for a good spot to have a picnic for a date, preferably a place we could stay in the car, like a tailgate picnic! Especially looking for pretty sunset spots, preferably Galt or towards Brantford.
Hello
Apologies if it’s in the wrong group.
I have a legal basement unit and I have received only 1 census questionnaire. Should I expect another one for my tenant ? Or should I fill in the same questionnaire.
Thanks in advance
Hi I just moved to Cambridge, I’m looking to have my asphalt driveway redone+ widened with asphalt to allow 2 cars to park side by side. Also I would like interlock solider course on the sides aswell.
Any company recommendations that does both asphalt and interlock?
Hey everyone,
I’m reaching the end of a two-year contract with Rogers and looking to jump ship before my bill doubles next month. They aren’t interested in negotiating a new rate, and honestly, I’m ready for a change anyway.
The catch is my specific area of Cambridge doesn't have high-speed Fibe yet (stuck with the old-school Bell lines), so I’m pretty much limited to providers running on the cable infrastructure.
What I’m looking for:
Has anyone had success with Oxio, TekSavvy, or Start.ca in town lately? I've also seen Execulink mentioned as a local option.
Looking for a store like Glogowski Euro Foods in Kitchener, but closer to home.
