I’ve lived in Canada for two years now, but I’ve mostly only had poutine from chains like McDonald’s or Popeyes. Everyone tells me the real poutine is in Quebec, but I’m looking for the best spots right here in the area. I’m willing to drive out of the city (Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, etc.) if there’s a legendary spot I need to try. Where should I go to get a poutine that actually rivals the ones in Quebec?

Hi everyone! Now that the weather is finally changing, I’m looking for recommendations for scenic cafes or restaurants with great food in the KWC area. I’d love to find places with a view..ideally near a river or lake, but I’m also looking for spots surrounded by nature, parks, or greenery. Basically, if it has a great outdoorsy vibe and good food, I want to hear about it! Thanks in advance!
