Correct tier list

Saw a pretty spicy tier list. We are all Sabbath lovers I believe this would be a proper tier list. I would have also put them all in S but Ik some people think the albums in A are weaker than the others in S

(I have beef with Dehumanizer but goated album)

My Black Sabbath Album Ranking

In the light of Ozzy's passing last year (R.I.P.) I wanted to do a marathon relisten to every sabbath album but never got around to it until about a 2 months ago. So here is my rankings for all 20 studio albums

#1 Paranoid 10/10: This albums is perfection and I don't think I need to explain why

#2 Volume 4 10/10: YES I KNOW THIS ALBUM HAS A LOT OF FILLER BUTS ITS FUCKING FIRE AND IF YOU DON'T THINK SO THEN YOU'RE LYING! Ok, yes while it has some odd tracks on this album I personally think it makes every other song 1000x better. "Under The Sun" "Snowblind", "Supernaut", "Cornucopia", "Changes", "Wheels of Confusion", "Tomorrows Dream" ARE ALL 10/10 SONGS AND I WILL DEFEND THIS ALBUM EVEN AFTER I BECOME A ROTTING CORPSE! I NEED THIS ALBUM CHOPPED UP INTO TINY ASS PIECES SO I CAN SNORT IT AND GET HIGH AND THEN INJECTED INTO MY BLOODSTREAM, THATS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!!!

#3 Master Of Reality 10/10: I've never been high listening to this album but I assume its a great time. Again 0 debate this album is incredible.

#4 Black Sabbath 10/10: Love the bluesy feel this album has but also FUCK its so damn heavy. I can't imagine listening to the Beatles for 8 years and then this albums hits you in the fucking face and makes you shit your pants, scaring your parent believing the devil has possessed your soul (anyone in who was a kid/teen during this time please share your experience.) The point is that I love this album,

#5 Dehumanizer 10/10: FUCK THIS ALBUM IS SO UNDERATED, I DON'T KNOW WHY PPL DON'T TALK ABOUT IT MORE! Its so doomy and Dios voice is ats his peak.

#6 Heaven And Hell 10/10: For whatever reason I used to not be a big fan of this album and put it in A tier for the longest time. I only listened to it once back in 8th grade (fuck that was almost four years ago, I'm becoming unc) but after giving it a relisten I've come to the realization I must have been smoking crack because its amazing.

#7 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 9.9/10: HOLD UP LET ME EXPLAIN PUT YOUR PITCHFORKS AWAY. Now if were talking albums as a whole this album is a 10/10 but specifically in terms of Sabbath albums I think you can see the cracks starting to form that the band was getting less creative and losing steam a bit. But again I still love this album and its still awesome

Side note before moving on, every sabbath album I put in S tier also is a 10/10 in general

#8 Mob Rules 9.9/10: This used to be my favorite of the Dio era but upon relisten I don't like it as much but its still amazing, and "Sign Of The Southern Cross" is probably my favorite Dio era song.

#9 Sabotage 9.8: YES THIS ALBUM GETS A LOT OF LOVE IN THIS SUBREDDIT BUT I JUST LIKE THE OTHER ALBUMS MORE, THEIRS NOTHING ENHERITLLY WRONG WITH IT AND IT HAS A LOT OF UNDERATED SONG.

#10 13 9.3/10 : I just listened to it again before writing this and I'm aware people hate this album for some reason but I just can't. I love the doomyness and modern feel it has. The only problems I have with this album is the autotune on Ozzys voice, Bills absence from the album and that the deluxe edition has some of the best songs on the album and probably should have been on the original to begin with. Other than that I think it was a solid note to end on and "Dear Father" is really underrated, bringing everything full circle.

#11 The Devil You Know 9.2/10: This album really just feels like a precursor to 13 with it also being extremely doomy. I've only listened to it once during this marathon so I haven't had to much time to listen to it but It definitely has the ability to beat out 13. Dios vocals are definitely better than Ozzys during this time and I have a feeling I will end up putting it above 13 but haven't listened to it enough. but really great album

#12 TYR 8.9/10: People say Headless Cross is underrated but no one ever talks album this album. its really good and has some great tracks on it. Give it a listen

#13 8.5/10: This album is again really underrated but gets a bit too much praise. Its definitely on the better side of the Tony Martin era and has some great songs,

#14 Technical Ecstasy 7.8/10: This albums has some great songs like "Dirty Woman" "Rock n' Roll Doctor" and "You Won't Change Me" but I think the other albums are much better.

#15 Born Again 7/10: The title track "Disturbing The Priest" and "Zero To Hero" are some of my favorite sabbath songs but the rest of the album is kinda mid. this album is basically if Deep Purple and Sabbath had a kid (mostly bc it kinda is) but it just doesn't stick the landing to well.

#16 The Eternal Idol 7/10: I think was a good start to the Tony martin era and has some good song but I just like some of the later albums more. Both this album and born again I feel pretty much the same about.

#17 Cross Purpose 5.5/10: This album just feels out of place. It came out right in between one of my favorite albums and my least favorite album so it feels kind of weird. It has a few songs I like but It not that great and blends together feeling boring.

#18 Never Say Die 4.5/10: Even though I put this album so low I don't hate it that much. Its sound just feels off for Black Sabbath. It doesn't do a lot of bad but it also doesn't do that much good either. I only really hate the last 3 songs but other than that this album is just ok

#19 Seventh Star 2/10: In the middle of this marathon me my dad found a bunch of his old cassatas from the 80s and this was one of the albums we found. Now I know this album was supposed to be a solo album for tony, but it still kinda sucks ass. This album was only about 30 minutes and it was the longest 30 minutes of my life. It was just so boring. only one or two songs are descent but the rest were a chore to get through.

#Forbidden 2/10: Ice-T makes a feature on this album.... why? These last 2 albums both are ass and interchangeable. I even listened to the remix but I still hate it.

I hope we can have a civil discussion about my opinion in the comments :) ....yeah that's not going to happen I'm on reddit after all.

Czech & Speake puzzle = Ozzy Osbourne!!

Two pieces are out already! Are they finally revealing that this is somehow connected to Ozzy? Look at the cane... No one uses one like that except Ozzy! It’s too iconic. Plus, with all the symbolism they’re using, it all connects!

Youngblud introduced me to Black Sabbath and now I'm having the time of my life listening to them

I'm from India and the English artist youngblud came here for a concert in the winter and I had no clue about who he was, but I attended the festival where he was performing and I happened to see his performance. His energy on stage was just insane, he carried that spirit of rock and roll which I thought only existed in the 80s and I would never see live on stage. He's just a magical performer and entertainer, and although most of the Audience didn't know his songs he was able to engage all of us just by his magical presence on stage and his love for India, which he kept expressing again and again.

When he performed Changes, he got really emotional and almost teary eyed on stage, and people in the audience started chanting "Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy". He said something about Ozzy and was just awed looking around into the audience.

I also started crying seeing the respect he held for another musician, and the performance was just magical enough to make me super emotional.

Since then I've been listening to Paranoid, Masters of Reality and Vol 4, and also Ozzy's Diary of a Madman. All these albums are freaking beautiful and just perfect. The lyrics, the riffs just hit me really really hard. I grew up listening to Pink floyd and prog rock but never got into "hard rock" music.

Now I just love Sabbath, and the spirit of Black Sabbath - everything from the bandmates looks, the band's aesthetic, the album covers, the culture around them, the place they hold in the hearts of Rock fans, and the music of course.

I'm at the beginning of a new journey. Just thought I'd share my story of finding Black Sabbath here.

Eternal Idol

Eternal Idol in my opinion is one of the most under appreciated Black Sabbath records. It is easily the best Tony Martin era Sabbath record. It has some of the best Iommi riffs of the era. Any other Eternal Idol fans here?

every other week there is a post on here asking what’s the best song and the worst song and the most underrated and god knows what else on each black sabbath album, it gets to a point eventually and it feels like pure engagement bait

Happy 4/20 to the ‘Sweet Leaf’ lovers out there, rock on and smoke it 🤘🏻

Fun fact: the guitar riff was inspired by the song “Hungry Freaks, Daddy” by Frank Zappa & The Mother’s of Invention.
