I’m sure a post like this already exists on this sub, but was curious what songs you think are vastly underrated?
Personally, I can’t believe Black Diamonds isn’t talked about more. Easily one of my favorites and most re-visited tracks.
This is just a small post meant to go out into the void and then disappear.
I listen to a lot of Big Thief, between band and solo releases, my top album and top few songs for the past several years have been from her body of work.
When Double infinity was slowly released, I was really excited and listened to them quite a bit. I love the album name, the album cover, but the music was't sinking its hooks in, even after a dozen or so listens.
So I put the album down, and just kind of avoided it, sticking to her previous body of work.
Some time has passed since I did that. I was in spotify today and came across a general Big Thief playlist and decided to put it on. It was a little unusual because I generally listen to albums start to finish, or occasionally a single song that I am in the mood for.
I'm so glad I did this. A few songs into the playlist Incomprehensible came on and something just clicked. I immediately played it twice in a row, then put the full Double Infinity alblum on and was completely swept away. The complexity of the instruments, her teetering voice. How could I not hear these in previous listens??
I don't know why this one took a while to grow on me, but I am so glad it has.
I’ve always loved the album art, so tried to recreate it using oil pastels last weekend.
So I'm genuinely interested in peoples opinions on meanings of songs but other stuff is greatly appreciated!! :))
She seems so ethereal and in tune with herself. I wonder how she achieves that level of inner peace (not to mention physical health.) Maybe it’s Maybelline, maybe it’s a railroad spike through the head at a young age.

Heard Adrienne's voice as they were wrapping up the show and it made me feel a lot of feelings! Really well timed placement wise. Absolutely perfect choice.
I’m going to see big thief for the first time in august and I’m super excited but I have no idea what to wear. My normal wardrobe is baggy basic stuff but I wanna step out of my comfort zone for the concert. It’s in Chicago from 6-8pm so it should still be around 70ish? Degrees Since it’s in the middle of august. Also The venue is outdoors so I really wanna make sure the outfit is perfect so factors like sudden temp change/ wind don’t ruin anything. I also mainly wanna get an idea of what other people have worn to BT concerts as from what I’ve seen there usually more of an earthy vibe to peoples outfits that I’d like to try!
I was at the Dublin show last week and the 5-6 new songs sounded class. Surely there's got to be a new album planned for release soon?

Have they said anything about when they’re releasing their new music? I desperately want to support them and this song!!!!

First time seeing BT live last night in Limerick as a band though I’ve seen a couple of Adrianne solo shows.
I don’t have a frame of reference to compare it to but it didn’t seem to me like Buck enjoyed last night as much as Adrianne, James and Josh (with whom she had a particular chemistry- lots of smiles in his direction).
Maybe he’s just quiet or was having an off night but there was a decent part of the set where the arrangements called for just one guitar and he was left watching the rest of the band play.
He’s a wonderful guitar player and I thought he was a bit underutilised- Adrianne is an amazing rhythm guitarist and picker but I enjoyed his lead bits more than hers which were often brilliant but at times wilfully (for a musician of her incredible talent) scrappy and rough around the edges.
