We know Germans like to stare at people. So today I decided to clean my windows and baby, they were locked in!!! As soon as I started cleaning, people came out to their balconies to watch me clean, the crowd kept increasing with time. Some even called their families to watch in amazement.

Sometimes I’d knowingly miss a section, just to see their reaction, then I’d go back to clean it. It felt satisfying to see that many people so involved in my business. They watched me clean every nook and cranny, every cervix of my windows. I spent over 1 hour cleaning and they were staring the entire time. It felt like window porn.

I plan to clean my windows next in August. I may even do a livestream and a watch party. Who knew that something as simple as cleaning your house windows would make Germans very happy and fulfil their stare fantasy with gracious ease. You all should try it :)

Hi i came here as an Au Pair and my contract ends this week and i find myself with nowhere to stay nor enough money to pay for it. I can’t find another family and i can not go back to my country right now. Does anyone know of a place or volunteering programme that offers accommodation in exchange for work or someone who would be willing to let me stay for a few days . I want go get a haircut, I feel like a queer alternative barber would understand more what I am going for but they're often so expensive. Plus going to typical Turkish places can be a bit uncomfortable as a non straight person. Anyone know a hairdresser with affordable rates?

I got a color code for an upcoming wedding. Basically blue or violet. I want blue but I need... a bigger variety of choices. I have one good choice for a suit but it would be 300€ and I am looking if I could find something cheaper.

Thing is, I am like an L-XL, big chest, smaller waist, wide hips and upper legs. A lot of dresses just look ridiculous because they were made for small chested people. When I go a size up it is too wide but at least my boobs fit. But everything else looks off.

Anyway. Does anyone know a good place with a variety of dresses or suits (or jumpsuits) for big chested people?

Im a complete beginner, and looking for a teacher. I dont have any specific goals, Im just pursuing the freedom of expression, and there is something very liberating about singing. Its also an instrument thats always with you, which adds to the appeal.

Im very fond of the barter economy, so it would be super cool if you would be up for trading classes for photography/video, but money is also an option.

Genuinely curious: I’ve noticed that a lot of delivery drivers in Berlin seem to be talking on their phones while riding their bikes. Are they coordinating routes and deliveries, chatting with colleagues, or just talking to friends or family to pass the time?

I’m not judging at all, I just find it interesting that it appears to be most of them, most of the time. Does anyone know what’s typically going on?

I recently moved to Berlin and I have a very jewish sounding name (Isak) and on top of that, I do look a bit jewish, but I am actually not and have 0 relation to Israel.

I don't know if it's just me, but I've felt a lot of hostility from people, mainly arabs, when they hear my name, and I start being asked where am I from but in very passive-aggressive tones.

Last week I went to a barbershop, mostly operated by arabs (they were all talking arabic and I did hear one tell another customer that he was syrian) and the guy at the counter was checking my reservation, he saw the name and his demeanor immediately flipped and started asking very fast "ummm woher der Name?? woher kommst du??", as soon I told him my home country, his demeanor changed again and became super friendly.

Then on a dating app, a girl immediately opened up asking if I have anything to do with Israel.

Yesterday I ordered from Lieferando and the driver, whose phone was in Arabic, saw the name and started asking me "Is this name arab? or from where?" I told him I didn't know and again said where I was actually from and again he relaxed and became super friendly.

I'm honestly starting to worry that someone will mistreat me somehow due to the name, is Berlin the kind of place where that could happen? Should I try to use a different name for non-official stuff?
